Bigger, has HOF, beautiful landscape, quite difficult world bosses, great storyline. Nothing against Gold Coast, but Vvardenfell felt like the devs tried really hard to make a great product while Gold Coast feels like they quit halfway through and left it incomplete

    Gold Coast
At first glance these don’t even compare. Gold Coast is a small adventure zone with a mostly inconsequential skill line, 2 delves and 2 world bosses.

Vvardenfell is a huge zone with a a very interesting main story, loads of side quests, many delves and WBs, two public dungeons and a trial. And Silt Striders. Seems like it should win hands down, no?

But then I remember that most of Vvardenfell is dead space and cannot be transversed. And the mobs are full of really annoying stun mechanics. And there are so many things that annoy me about it that it seems like a chore every time I go back there for something.

Gold Coast is beautiful, fun to explore, full of hidden little gems in the environment, I actually like all of the motifs that come from there, and it gave us the Blade of Woe, which has given me hours and hours of enjoyment.

I sprinted through Vvardenfell main quest. Maybe Dunmer are just not my thing.

Balmora was the most memorable part of Vvardenfell. And while it's no Thieves Guild, the story and characters of the Dark Brotherhood was still stellar.

Gold Coast dailies are also way more fun. and drop way more valuable motifs.
Shortly after the formation of the Ebonheart Pact, a Nord woman was given a tour of the Tribunal Temple. When later asked about the experience, she seemed upset. Suffice to say, the Dunmer were not pleased to hear this, and thus they inquired further.
"Well," the Nord frowned, "the priests were very angry and unwelcoming. They kept shouting things at me like "you can't drink that mead in here!" and "somebody stop her, she's running naked!" and "we can't catch her; she's covered in grease!""

Praise Vivec! He has nice tattoos. 😜

Also, Vvardenfell brought one of the best crafting areas in the whole game with Vivec City (it ties with Rimmen for me).

I do like Gold Coast, but Vvardenfell just has so much more to offer overall.

Gold Coast is beautiful. I love exploring it and I just... enjoy the scenery a lot. Everything is so nice. I wanna sit there.

Vvardenfell gets all my nostalgia love, they did a good job... If neither of them existed, I'd probably miss Vvardenfell more because of the characters and lore and just appreciating it existing. But I actively enjoy Gold Coast way more.

Really hard choice for me this time. I really like them both. But seeing that I mostly hang around Vivec City I have to vote for Vvardenfell.

This one was super hard for me again. I really love Vvardenfell, as I do most Dunmer areas. Can't even really say why, the volcanoes and giant mushrooms just do something irrational for me, and the Dunmer as a people are super interesting, if flawed.

But the Gold Coast has such extreme Oblivion nostalgia. Anvil and Kvatch, the scenery is beautiful, the arena is cool, and, of course, it has DB. Which still is and will always be my single favourite thing in any ES game, so I have to choose the Gold Coast over Vvardenfell.

As much as I want to see a Gold Coast/Hew's Bane matchup....Vvardenfell wins

I'm not a huge fan of the scenery. The story was decent, but not mindblowing. One thing puts Vvardenfell at the top: the crafting area. Hands down BEST CRAFTING AREA IN THE GAME. Stations, writ boards, writ turn in, battleground quests, bank, thieve's guild (for force refreshing your mail to actually get your guild store purchases), guild traders, horse training, and wayshrine all in a super compact area.

Tough one. In the end I went with the underdog.

I had such a good time going through the DB DLC, and I think the Gold Coast is beautiful. I enjoy going back to it.

With Vvardenfell came the warden class, which I also enjoyed, but like Summerset I found a lot of the NPCs in the area to be unlikable, and I get frustrated navigating through Vvardenfell. There are crafting surveys that are difficult to obtain, and it has a lot of multi level barriers in the terrain which I dislike.
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

Gold Coast is definitely one of the best zones, in terms of both content and visuals, so definitely deserved to make it this far. But... Vvardenfell was just so well done, with so much variety in architecture, so much lore-friendly beauty and detail added to Vivec's cantons and Ald'Ruhn's Skar, and so much nostalgia. Telvanni quest-line was amazing too, with a great reward. The only downside is the impassable volcano, but the vast majority of ESO's zones have impassable mountains so hard to hold that against it too much

My dream ESO update is called New Horizons - an overhauled LOD system, pushing that fog way back, improving the model and texture detail of mountains and distant trees, and all mountainous areas in the game are now landscaped and open for business, including Red Mountain and Snow Throat (and those beautiful looking mountains in Summerset) with a questline that spans all across Tamriel and has you searching previously inaccessible mountain ranges for ancient ruins, piecing together fragments of a long-last artifact like the hero of TES1 Arena did

The Gold Coast looks pretty, for a while. But in the end, there's not much to do there once you completed the DB quest line in the area. And most of the DB stuff (dailies and so on) doesn't even take place in the Gold Coast proper. Also, the DB are huge jerks (to put it mildly), if you think about it for a moment, so I don't even particularly like the faction.
There is very little Oblivion nostalgia. I found the environments pretty boring when it came out, and it hasn't changed since.

    Vvardenfell, on the other hand...

My homeland... Got to go with my Imperial zone. Own my home in Gold Coast, also just find it amazing. Vvardenfell is bigger and has more to do but in terms of the land I love the Gold Coast and wish we had more Imperial zones like this.
