As mentioned by others, it seems the spread of favorite classes has been fairly even. However, Necromancer falls behind by a pretty decent percentage.

To everyone commenting, what would make you enjoy this class more? What are your dislikes of the class? What would you like to see changed? Or do you just not like playing a “bad” character since necromancy is illegal?

Let’s offer some discussion and feedback on Necromancer so ZOS has some player insight on the class and what we think some improvements could be to bring them up to the favoritism of the other five classes!

OK, feedback. They are disgusting and sick of seeing corpses and body parts flying around. Way too dark for my liking and this is from a guy who's first raid worthy character was a Necro from EQ1.

None. They are all boring to play. There is very little diversity in how classes play, except for necro. It's just apply a few DoTs and spam a few direct damage skills in a static rotation.

I main warden for RP reasons (druid is my favourite fantasy archetype).

They gave my guy a worthless PvP only racial passive, since no NPCs can be bothered to hide, and he was a PvE thief/assassin. So I turned him into a werewolf instead, and then they rendered that playstyle irrelevant. So he's retired and only does crafting.

Nord has had lore breaking passives from the get go. They're always been a very offensive race while being immune/highly resistant to frost damage, and minor resistance towards shock damage.

The defensive race of the Elder Scrolls series have been the Orcs. They mixed their racials up in this game.

Nords have always been the defensive race of warriors in elder scrolls. But they were more for magical defensive warriors rather than physical. Redguards have always been the high damage dealers with low defense while Orcs and Nords are typically tanks and defensive warriors. The only game where this is different is skyrim because the Orcs daily allows for more damage than the Redguard daily.

    Nords:
    +10 Two-handed
+5 Block, Light Armor, One-handed, Smithing, Speech

    Redguards:
    +10 One-handed
+5 Alteration, Archery, Block, Destruction, Smithing

    Orcs:
    +10 Heavy Armor
    +5 Block, Enchanting, One-handed, Smithing, Two-handed

    https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Races

It's very clear by looking at which skills they were innately high in that Redguards and Nords were tied for being the most offensive races for melee combat.

Orcs were the tankiest with having their highest bonus in Heavy Armor.

The only armor passive Nords had was in light armor which is the equivalent of Medium armor in ESO.

Yeah they completely mixed up the racial passives for Orcs and Nords in ESO.

Look at their states in oblivion and Morrowind. Also before I get into that the Redguard Daily allows you to spam heavy attacks and is more suited for combat than the Nord daily.

Redguard Poison Resistance ability (FormID 00047AE5): Resist Poison 75% on Self, constant

In both games Redguards are the top damage dealers with The nords having mostly defensive passives and abilities. Their passives in eso match fine. If anything I'd argue it's the redguards who don't and should have passives that boost weapon damage.

Since we were originally talking about Orc and Nord passives being flipped in ESO. As per your morrowind part- Orc=+10 med armor, +10 heavy armor, +10 block, +5 axe. Vs Nord=+10 med armor, +5 heavy, +10 axe, +10 blunt, +5 longblade, +5 spear. Nord also has more agility than orc. Based on that, Nords are still an obvious choice for an offensive warrior race.

They both seem to be built to be tanks with major skills in Armor and Nord abilites being based around defense and resistances. The orc ability increases damage and health. So both the Orcs and Nords should be tanks and the Redguards should be damage dealers.

Again, still looking at morrowind, Nord=weapons and med armor. Only 1 thing on there was defense and that was the secondary ability. The greater ability being a frost damage ability. Orc =defensive warrior. Nord=offensive warrior with 1 defensive ability. Oblivion pretty much the same except they added a bonus to block. It is only in ESO that Nords are purely defensive warriors.

Well, having played numerous MMO's over the years my 2 favourite classes ended up from the same game Warhammer Online, with that in mind when ESO launched I did my best to replicate them, so I have Saxon Sunborn a Stamina Templar after the Warrior Priest (still the greatest class in a game ever!) and Bale Bloodborn a Magblade after the Disciple of Khaine, fortunately they have both worked out pretty good and still enjoy both years later.

My first character was a Stamina NB Woodelf, she was born in May 2014. I originally played her as a stealthy DW/Bow and had an amazing time. I did get tired of the ranged bow and decided to just go the melee (toe to toe) roll-dodge style. We get decent benefits from being a bit of a rollie pollie -- if you can sustain it.

My second favorite is my MagSorc, an easy class for ME to play with the right combo-burst. The next class that comes close to it is the MagDK, not that it is easy, but I really like the skills.

    That would be Dragonknight.

Now, my first adventures in Tamriel was as a Sorcerer. I had chosen this class not only due to Lore but also because summoning Daedra is one my favorite things.

The only reason I didn't start out as a Dragonknight is because I couldn't summon Daedra (as a regular spell; I now often wear the Monster set Maw Of The Infernal, because I love that Daedroth)

I love everything there is to love about being a Dragonknight. It not only befits my personality but also my preferred role as a tank.

I also have a Khajiti Necromancer Healer. Duality and contrasting differences are something I strongly embrace.

There is one class I have been wanting to play yet sadly can't afford, that would be like OP, a Warden. As a huge animal friend, I would love to check out this class. And I agree, the animations are absolutely breathtaking. I always enjoy it whenever there is a Warden in a dungeon group, especially when they are a healer, the spells are eye-candy.

The reason I don’t like is not the theme but the why they build the class. The tether abilities do not work well in game as a PvPers and main burst ability doesn’t work well and the most enjoyable ability in there kit is weak the scythe should be single target to get the dmg to compete with other spammable a

I haven't really decided yet on a class that I would make a permanent main. My mSorc has all my trials achievements. I like the lightning theme, but recent nerfs have removed much of what I liked about Sorc.

I think I get bored easily. I'm currently enjoying a magcro, but I'm not sure if I like it only because it's new to me. I really want to find a class that has good class identity, one that I can take into all PvE content and PvP and be fairly competitive.

Anyone else feel like this? Seems like everyone else has their mains figured out.

I'd absolutely love this class if they reworked the siphoning abilities to be undead-summoning abilities and made grave Grasp a proper summon/ally buffing skill. (Similar to the beam we see NPC necros channeling on their summons)

As for the siphoning abilities, Necro is long overdue for a melee/tank summon. Kinda silly how a necromancer can't raise a zombie or skeletal warrior. I also feel like the design on the siphoning abilities is lazy as heck. They're literally the same ability, except one does dmg and the other heals. If they want to keep the siphon aspect, sure fine, but why not have the corpse they're siphoning from resurrect as a melee warrior while you siphon it's life away? That way the AoE dmg around the summon will follow the opponent instead of being stuck in 1 spot. As for the healing one, it could summon another more-ghostly spirit to heal allies.

If they were to make this change, I'd also like to see the resurrect ultimate's blastbone morph be changed to where it raises an undead warrior, mage, and healer for 16 seconds. (It does cost 300 ultimate, after all)

I immediately fell in love with it. It was my first class, it will be my last. I love it so much that I can't imagine playing any role on something else. I'm a decent stam DD, and now I'm starting to tank vet trials, maybe in 2021-2022 I'll be healing.
