Why do people want a hybrid weapon when they aren't using hybrids right now?
What is this skill line supposed to accomplish?
Soon, I would hope!Darkstorne wrote: »One-Hand and Rune When?
That as well.Imperial_Voice wrote: »Id prefer a spear
At least magica builds get four different flavors of staff.Stamina peeps have
●dual wield
●2 handed
●1 hand shield
●Bow
And what do mag peeps have?
....staff boooty
It would be a logical progression. If we have a magical rune as offhand, it would only make sense to have them as two-fisted magic-slinger skill line as well!TelvanniWizard wrote: »Also, double rune would be nice.
...and questions like those are why I spent time thinking about...Sandman929 wrote: »So many people want 1h and rune...I'm curious what the vision is for the skill line. Do the skills change function based on the rune equipped? What does the rune add?

just because a sword is involved doesnt mean physical damage...i think ppl just want a more melee focused magicka weapon with lower distance spells such as flame thrower, magicka buffs (buff your sword with elemental damage etc) and self buffs/shields etc.... basically the way a lot of people played Skyrim...which would fit a skyrim chapter
idk if the engine can handle it. and i dont think zos will do that anytime soon even if it's possible.

People have also been complaining that melee magicka (DK and Templar) sucks ever since release.
Don't get me wrong, spellsword playstyles sound like fun, but they don't work with ESO's current system, at all. We'd need much more substantial changes to get something like that going, just another skill line won't do.

in Elden Root npc name Gerinien, no sword on her character model before she attacks so the sword might be a summoned spell itself. TelvanniWizard wrote: »Also, double rune would be nice.
Add unarmed while we're at it
That would be great to have. Something for a true spellblade style gameplay. I know that would fit great on my magblade.
Anyway, I wouldn't hold my breath. If it eventually comes, it will most likely be with a new chapter, so at least one year of waiting.

If they did unarmed what would go in hour weapon slot would they had fist weapons or just invisible stat stick

The game needs more Magicka weapons and Spear clearly wouldn’t be one.

What if a spear was actually a magical catalyst like a staff that could be used for close combat too. You just lack imagination :P

Based on that datamined pictures both restoration staff and 1h+shield does not exist in the game. I think people created way too much fuss around one random datamined picture without any context. It may be also old design for the game where 1h+rune was initial idea connecting designs of resto staff and s&b but later ZoS scratched those plans and turned 1h+rune into 1h+shield and resto staff. There is many possible reasons why that icon is in the game files but people choose only one reason that it definietly has to be skill line which was and still is planned.

true...at the same time, devs usually have tried to implement things in the game that were requested often...they already said that a new weapon line would be difficult for a variety of reasons (one being that you would have to recreate new weapons for all the existing styles and it would change the loot tables) - but this is not the case for 1h+spell...as it could basically use existing 1h weapon models and simply work with passive bonuses / changes in the skill line if you dont equip another weapon in the second hand... so thats why i think IF we see a new weapon line, this one is most likely...
Also so far they always have alternated a new class with new crafting / skill lines for chapters...if they keep this up (and they seem to be falling into a certain rythm and keep doing the same type of content, etc.) than we would get a new skill line and or crating / weapon etc. this next chapter
