Thanks for posting, will look at that later, got to rush to the airport!
Quick question though, PvE or PvP?Jfairclough wrote: »Here is a video of the problem good sirs. youtu.be/XU0RP8cvvi4
Ok, people MMOs are CPU intensive, not graphics card intensive. If you are having a frame rate issue it is most likely because your CPU is not up to par. MMOs CPU > GPU , single player games and shooters GPU > CPU
Pls read and digest the thread: We're not having issues as such (I get 100FPS indoors and 70 out) we're just perplexed as to why the system is not doing any hard work. Theoretically as there are no detectable bottlenecks (I have investigated in much detail) more work should be done.
There is one constraint, which is that the game is not particularly well multi-threaded, and this will mean no CPU is being used particularly well in this game. Out of 32 threads only 2 do any heavy lifting, this causes one core to top out before any others. It's like the game was optimised for dual core not quad.
We are mostly running the top of the line kit.Ok, people MMOs are CPU intensive, not graphics card intensive. If you are having a frame rate issue it is most likely because your CPU is not up to par. MMOs CPU > GPU , single player games and shooters GPU > CPU
Yes understand that ppl are posting about cpu usage but for those who are worrying about gpu.
As mentioned MMOs tend to be really cpu heavy and not gpu. I have 4770k and 660ti oc and Im getting 40+ fps what is great for mmo. Masses of ppl just hammers your cpu down. Thats why a lot of the single player games, with online, wont allow more than 4-32 in "small maps"
This shows up when you go to small instance and your fps jumps to the max.
Also wont argue with that that the game is not optimazed very well (yet).
Oh my lord. Im actually defending zenimax. Miracles happen

I for know mmo's are cpu heavy.
The question I and everyone else with low fps is asking, is why is the game using a low cpu amount?
I just remembered that there is/ was an Nvidia process that hogged resources terribly. it was either in the nvidia experience, or the nvidia 3D program. i'll look it up. Basically that service would eat like a gig of ram when you weren't even doing anything. I want to say it was for streaming to Nvidia shield. Needless to say i uninstalled every nvidia service minus the video driver and the HD audio driver. "Nvidia streamer service" and "Nvidia network service." now, i dunno if these are the culprits but people on the page i linked are claiming it's using 135MB/s on their SSD's not to mention slowing the PC's down. Might be worth checking out if you have Nvidia experience installed. < https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/670171/geforce-experience/what-is-quot-nvidia-network-service-quot-/2/
My favourite thing about this thread is the abundance of people blaming the game when other people with near identical systems report having no issues. Some people really don't use logic.

That's why the discussion of 3rd party software is now the topic. If the hardware isn't to blame there must be a software issue. Drivers updated, game updated, addons disabled. There must be something causing people with $1,000 video cards to only get 30 fps. My brother has a gigabyte 660, and he gets about 43-47fps running around in graht on ultra. With that it seems more people with 700 series cards are being affected. Counting my lucky stars that my card is working >.<

I can be in one area in a city when first logging in and getting 60+ FPS but then struggle to get over 10 FPS in the same area hours later when my RAM usage has gone from about 70% up to 90%. From my POV it looks like poor coding is to blame and I suspect that if I bought another 8GB on top of what I have now, it'll still use the same percentage amount.
Of course, this doesn't mean it's what's happening to everyone else but it might help some with why they're having FPS issues on a more than capable machine.
I'm running an i5-2500k @4.6ghz. a EVGA GTX680FTW, and 8 gigs of 1600DDR3. I've played a few times for around 5 hrs. I've never really had any issues with RAM. seems to play just fine.(fingers crossed it doesn't mess up) Now, on that note I have had random rollbacks and dc's . If that is somehow RAM related, I have no idea.
At the current state of things if i were to upgrade my GPU i would be hesitant to go 700 series. Or for that matter AMD either. Over in the other thread AMD GPU's were also acting up and giving low framerates.
I am really interested to see what exactly people have going on in their systems that this game doesn't run right. Although with the current way that CS is going i highly doubt we will ever know the true reason. My assumption here is that one day it will magically be fixed and a reason never given.
Just wondering, is there anything server side that could be happening that would limit fps? Like if the servers are overloaded or something?

No. FPS issues are strictly client side. However, going into a very crowded area with a lot of stuff going on can cause FPS to drop. The lowest my FPS has ever dropped was 36, on full ultra, in an area with not only a lot of players but also with a lot of particle effects going on in the background. i7-4770k, 16GB DDR3-1600, EVGA 780ti ACX SC.

2: Um, a 780 is near top of the line, only bested by Titan 780ti and TITAN Z? Thats besides the point though, everyone on a 780 is having this problem based on another thread I found.
A thing i discovered, lowering the settings makes no difference to the usage, but frame rates increase. I am emulating 1440p resolution right now though, frame rates are exactly the same but usage has gone up. Weird.
