More choice when it comes to gendered options please!

I would really love the ability to choose between the male/female versions when there are gendered titles/costumes/etc.

For example, the male and female versions are drastically different. I love the male version, but hate the female version. I would love to be able to choose which of the costumes my character can wear, but because my character is female I'm stuck with the option I very much dislike.

More ability to choose would be great!

Soooooo... people want to wear the -male- version of sai sahans chest wrappings on their -female- characters? Somehow I cannot really see ZOS go there for... mammary reasons. ;)

ESO is waaay better than other MMO’s, including GW2, in that regard! Want to look like a badass assassin? Too bad, if you’re female you’re stuck with leather lingerie! :unamused: Actually, I can’t even think of any costumes in ESO that differ based on gender unless what you’re wanting is to have your female characters completely topless.

I get that there are limitations (although it is kindof sexist to censor females and not males, but whatever). But if my lady wants to be a count instead of a countess, it would be great if that was an option.

There are technical reasons on why there is gendered outfits. Has to do with skeletal meshes and modeling. Would require way more art assets to make work.

Baker is one that comes to mind

Ahh, I was not aware of that one. I wonder why they made it different? 🤔

I will always support there being more options, but I’m glad that ESO is already far better than GW2 in this regard! :) (That was my main game previously and how different armor and outfits looked on male and female characters — especially human — drove me crazy!)

Since some male versions of costumes expose the chest this will not happen as it would require the base bra displayed on females when the chest is exposed which would look absurd. Since the game does not have an adult rating in USA that is the only way it could happen as Zos would want to avoid that adult rating.

In other words this will not happen for a valid reason having nothing to do with a sexist stance or not.

The baker costume is an especially good example of this. The male version looks great. The female version looks like a nun wearing an apron. Its terrible :(

I doubt anyone is really asking for topless female characters.

Actually you can, not while creating character, but trough outfit system/hairstyles.

How about we try having the base topless look changed to be like the female Sai Sahan chest wrap without the over the shoulder part to make it different. Then any model that exposes the male chest would expose that base warp on a female. Even using the chest portion of the female Nordic Towel would be better than the current bikini model used.

With this in mind, reread the OP. The request is reasonable, with the above stipulation.

At the same time lets change the bikini brief on all base models to be the boxer brief you see on the male Khajiit base model.
That looks much better and fits the styles more than the absurd bikini looks.

They kind of have to confirm with the Rating Standards of the many countries the game is played in. If they went Ham on it they'd no longer be able to sell it in countries like Australia

You could always play Age of Conan...your female character there can have all her assets hanging out for the world to see if you like.

Hey, my first MMO was "Age of Conan"... (didn't have fast enough internet before)... so I would be all for that sort of thing. Just sayin, I really doubt ZOS will go there, like, ever.
If they did... oh, heck, I would want them to push the limits of the ratings, in every way imaginable. But I know that#s me, and they won't want to take the chance at that sort of can of worms...

I'd be happy for more options of various sorts. Now, I can handle chainmail bikinis and all that implies, after all, I've been playing computer games since 1985. Depending on the game, I have been somewhat annoyed in two directions: if there's no "real" armor (ONLY chainmail bikinis); and if there's only "real" armor (no chainmail bikinis).

In ESO unlike WoW and RIFT, I'm rather in the second area. I personally want to see a bit more skin on my girls, as long as they're not totally naked.

Yeah, I used nude mods in Skyrim, because the armor looked a lot better over them - but I did get a bit tired of seeing the dead unclothed to the bare state, especially the males, so I finally opted for one of the mods for just women, but with undies.

Thought this was going somewhere else. Even had my snarky comment all set.

I see no reason why 'most' costumes shouldn't be selectable. The Nordic bath towel is one example that shouldn't.

That's fair. I think Sai's Jack shouldn't be either for the same reason.

This is one area where ESO is actually pretty sensible. Meanwhile in other games:

Since it is based on medieval working class clothing, I'd say it is perfectly acceptable. Unisex wasn't really a thing back in the old times. ;)

uuum are you asking for slootier female clothing? not gonna lie while that might not bother me one bit hint, hint but I can see where it would um I dont know alienate like 51% of the population and I actually have to admit the armor designs for most of the female versions are kind of respectable considering how they appear in other games compared to eso even if cleavage in an armor chest piece would be dangerous irl watch a "shadiversity vid" for what i mean or "epic npc man" for the old female armor in games gags.

Or are you being realistic and saying that the male version without the form fitting shape that some armors female version have should be an option for female toons? Well problem is they have 2 different skeletons and the last time they mistakenly applied the male pattern on a female piece of armor it was an utter disaster I think it was the dc armor cuirass i could be wrong about the specific one I just remember there was one there would have to be a redesign on all female armor options for all existing armors and I don't see that happening.

I do wish we could get the robe legs as seperate styles from the robes chest styles meaning the dress portion over the legs separate for the exisitng styles so we could put cuirass chests over all the styles robes for the battle mage look there are only 4-5 stlyes with dresses for legs out of all styles outside of robes

You have to upload the pic to imgur or whoever, then grab the "bbcode" link in order to get a reliable link that will post here. There are viable logical reasons for the way they've made that work....
