Error after patch--Cannot Verify Version??

Bubby63071
So I logged out of the game and tried to log back in to this error. Told me it couldn't verify my current version and to use the repair feature. Keeps doing this..and I can't login.

Tons of people are having the same problem. Temporary fix is to re-open the launcher and hope it works.

I'm getting the same issue but I've not been able to patch yet since the server came back on. Suggestions would be nice :)

I love patches, but boy do these ones wreck the launcher.

Me too. I have 2 backups though. I got my son's game back from endless download the client by using a beta backup. It patched it from there.

I have a launch backup too if I need it.

Same for me. Tried "repair" but it didn't help.

Same problem here, any response from devs on this? I really would like to play the game I am paying monthly for, with out having to download the entire game again.

Actually, this worked for me. Try it! Took me a couple times of opening and closing, but eventually the "Repair" button turned into "Play" and I was able to launch the game.

There are many of posts... Just bookmarked a few and keeping tabs on posts... I am sure a majority of our customer support tickets will raise a red flag.

What worked for me was I went to my eso account page and re-installed the launcher and that worked.

Re-opening and close until the "Play" button activates works.

You can also go into the directory for ESO and manually launch the game from the .exe file.

Yup, this worked for me. When the repair button showed up I just "x" out of the launcher and relaunched. Now the play button is displayed and I can get into the game just fine.

If restarting the launcher doesn't work just reboot your PC. It works fine after that.

Exact same issue. I went through all this earlier today. Was playing and running a campaign group in Cyrodiil util it crashed on me. Now I can't get the issue to resolve itself whatsoever....will try rebooting and such. Report more if problem persists.

Just disable your addons and it will work the first time. Tried back and forth a couple times.
With addons installed it says 'Repair' and as soon as you uninstall them it says 'Play'

i was having the same issue and the ONLY thing that fixed it for me was launching from my Beta version of ESO. I could find no other way around it. So if it weren't for beta, i couldn't log into the game that i could see. I hope they fix this soon. Many of us arent computer savvy. I know how to switch the machine on.. and thats just about it. So please fix this and don't expect your customers to figure out a workaround.

i dont have any add-on at all and yet i couldn't fix the problem. Launching beta version is what got me into the game.

I fixed it by going to the setting option, then to about and running the game assistant, and then going back to the launcher and running repair while the test was running in the assistant. That seemed to fix the issue and was able to get the next update that fixes this issue.

This also worked for me, BUT now my game crashes more than the stock market. Last time I had these crashing issues all I had to do is repair my launcher. It's a good thing I CAN'T repair it! Good job ESO for making the crap list again. If you keep this up the game will end up just like Age of Conan. All the hype then a huge crash in player base. History tells it all.

This problem comes and goes, so don't get frustrated if it comes back.

Looking at the network connections, this appears to be the launcher not getting the version information from the server. It checks every few minutes. When it can successfully connect, it establishes a secure HTTPS connection to the server. When it cannot, it puts up that panel.

When I clear that message and let the launcher sit, eventually it gets the connection it wants and the "Repair" button is replaced with "Play" and you are good to go.

Be aware that even if it is "fixed", it may only stay fixed until the Launcher has another issue getting what it wants from the server.

I do want to add that my client has patched. If your client has not patched you will need to wait for that to happen before playing.

You are already paying a sub fee to play? That sucks.......

Pretty much this. Error 209, let the launcher sit for a bit and play button lights up. People need to stop all these so called fixes that are just causing more problems.

If your getting this error you can also launch the game from "Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client\ESO.exe". This launches the game and bypasses the launcher.

I've repaired my client ran the Game Consultant program and I'm still getting Error 209 - PatchManifestError_VersionFail.
