Error 209 Fix
The following worked for me:
Close all ESO stuff.
Go to your luncher folder, (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\Launcher)
Delete the file "Bethesda.net_Launcher.version.
Reopen your ESO launcher.
Let is do it's little update thing.
Can now play.
Log in and grind, because all quests are bugged, blocking progress!

this is getting absurd, every day its something else broken that goes unfixed. or, we cant log in, or......i'll try this, if it doesnt work, i'll be unsubbing, i buy mmo's to have something to do and have fun. i'm not having fun.1 -
Zarec✭✭✭Tried deleting this file and it did not work for me I found it to be much more complicated. I posted what worked for me and have not had any issues in game.0 -
this did work for me. but i shouldnt have had to try, and why the hell is it left up to players to fix zenimax's screwups?0

This worked for me.
To be honest I'm kind of upset. I didn't see the 209 error in the launcher right away because it must not have appeared until after I tried to launch the game. I've been trying to login for the last 30min. I come and check the forum to look for announcements about this and I don't see anything. No red alert "We know about it, here... do this... blah blah...", no Sticky note, no nothing. So it wasn't until I restarted the launcher that I noticed 209 and then came to this thread.
I can understand problems like this happening, but I don't understand the lack of notification about a known problem.0 -
mlscott0✭Have I missed the communication from them on this? All I have seen is the solution being found and fixed by players? New MMO or not, that's just sad on their part if so. At least admit it, and say your are fixing it.1
