My perspective of IC event

*slaps knees* right, let me start of by saying im a pleb mage with 470 CP, no PVP armour and half PVE armour and this event for me went like this:
I joined the sewers to run around and get some telvars, after 10-15 minutes i started getting people grouped up, soon we had 4, then 8, then 12 people, all together. Our expedition started at our gate, moved to mini bosses and we absolutely slaughtered every whisperer that came our way (whisperers AKA those tall bosses with banners that make creepy noises). We had teamwork, we had callouts, we almost all got roasted by 2-3 PVP demons that SOMEHOW HAVE THE STAMINA TO ESCAPE FOR 4 MINUTES STRAIGHT.. like how is that even possible lmao. Anyway. after our team got frisky, and i had to take a pee pee break, i came to see that our lads AND LASSES are making their way to the middle. me and 4 new people in the group catched up and even killed that molag thing.. spectre.. whatever it was. After the whole 3 hour expedition we made some new allies, rose our blue flag high, and turned back home.
End result is this:
17k gold made from lewt
2 new people in the friend list
5k+ telvars
about 4 solid kills and around 7 deaths

TL;DR - if youre someone who doesnt get depressed when a top level PvP demon slaughters you then THIS EVENT IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Honestly, ive Never seen this much action in the sewers ever, the groups, the people, the encounters are really... breathtaking *-* i STRONGLY suggest giving it a shot if youre still iffy on the pvp of the game, or just a new player, the only rule is DO NOT RIDE ALONE always group up, even if with randoms.
I give this event a 7/10, got only 2 tickets dont know why and i really want the black indricc

I've been running solo through IC (mainly because those few that PvP in my guilds are on at different hours than me), and so far I've yet to be ambushed ( and I play a very non-stealthy MagDk).

Lots of fun and suspense roaming around while watching your back.

Players are almost always more dangerous than the NPCs. I just wish more people queuing up for IC prepared accordingly.

happy to hear you having a blast in there, there is deft more action this time around, probably the easy access to get to imperial city, with not going through cyrodil helps alot.

for the two tickets thing, thats the limit each day you can get only 2

Got 2 soul shriven skins in about 10 Molag kills first 2 days. I’m very happy with event although I wish the PvP was a little more common and not such a long run to get anywhere in there.

We were small scaling fighting a DC small man and a 2 flag boss was just in the way lol. We ALL killed him as an afterthought.

I really wasn't going to visit IC this year. I was planning to simply queue for dungeon, get 6 more tickets and be done with this event :|

...I haven't queued for any dungeon since the event has started, and today I've been in city for almost whole day :D It was all that I don't usually like about it, but I also got few new memories :)

    1) I (stamplar) saw fellow templar fighting some red magdk. I joined when I realised that it's not friendly duel and they don't mind me joining. Then red gankblade joined, but me and my accidental ally focused him. Then we kept fighting that tanky magdk. Then some random reds joined one at a time, we focused them and killed them. Then red gankblade showed up again, we made him run away... :D Then some red group finally swarmed us.
Except for the ending, it was one of those rare nice and long fights which I value so much <3

    2) I was together with many allies around me, and we saw how 1 red and 1 blue entered the sanctuary area between districts. They weren't going down and were light attacking each other, so eventually my allies got bored and left. I was waiting to see what happens next and went to loot nearby NPCs. Red and blue jumped down the safe area, and when blue stamdk started a fight with me, red went on his merry way. I like this, good fair fight :) We fought for some time, circled around the tree also :D , but then few of my allies came and joined the fight (can't blame them, but I was still upset) :/

    3) When I met blue magsorc who couldn't kill me, but I also couldn't kill him... So eventually we were standing on a flag, not doing anything :D I charged ulti on him with heavy attacks, and then I saw reds passing by, so I went to see if they want to fight. Blue magsorc didn't backstab me, and I killed those two reds (and aggroed lot of NPCs...) eventually.

    4) I ported to Temple district from the ladder in my base, and heard fighting sounds below me. I jumped down, but miscounted the movement and instead of one floor, I fell down from two floor height :D I immediately used Vigor and buffs, looked around... The fight was a duel between 1 red and 1 blue, and when I fell from the sky on them, they stopped and run away each to different directions  It was unexpected. I was standing there, not doing anything and laughing in real life. Then the red returned, looked at me, and went somewhere else. Both awkward and hilarious situation :D

And also, somebody had a trouble to find a group for Molag:

thanks, and yeah ive noticed wayyy too much negativity in the forums this week, from WoW topics, to PvP, to even ''zos isnt doing anything reeeee'' and its just depressing, the game is fine, the moderation is fine and this PvP even is fine also. Its fun

I think a lot depends on what time you play. Early m ornings (BST 06:00 on) I've been ganked a lot. I'm playing with a PVE DK Tank converted to DD & had to start from 0 with bow. From midnight to 03;00 (couldn't hit the zzzs) it was lliike PVE. Tonight from about 7 till 9 it was as you describe and great fun though eventually outnumbered and kicked in bigtime. I've no problem with being zapped but I find that "lone wollf" PVP gankers to be rather sad, not sure what they get from it apart from a few TVs

That sounds nice, and this one think its something wrong with the Khajiit raicals as Khajiit can not get this even wit h buffs.

Had an blast in the severs yesterday. Extremely tactical.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

yeah ''those people'' are just a fair few, its not the whole pvp thing (im literally new to the whole real pvp thing btw, havent even sieged a castle), but when youre going with a whole group its much safer and more fun. like just 2 hours ago we held middle with 8-12 people for 3-5 molag kills. we got wasted at the end and i lost over 7k telvars but it was well worth the experiance and just the thrill.

See, PvPers, by NOT camping entrances we may have just gained a new recruit to the ranks.

Every new pvper is incentive for zos to allocate resources!

I think that's a silly statement. Anyone who can't handle ganking, camping, bombing, or zerging isn't going to become a PVPer. At most, they'll come for the event rewards and leave.

The ones who actually become PVPers are the ones who like PVP for what it is, ganking, camping, bombing, and zerging included, because those are allowed, intended, and encouraged tactics in PVP zones.

I also take some issue with your appraoch to new players in PVP zones. I think you acting like camping, among other tactics, is a "bad experience" and something PVPers shouldn't do gives new players a false impression of what to expect from PVP. I like to welcome new PVPers, having once been a PVE-only player myself. But I'll be blunt - I think giving PVEers the false impression that camping, ganking, bombing and zerging are anything less than "business as usual" and intended, even encouraged, tactics for PVP does them a huge disservice.

When I write guides for PVP events, I am upfront: You cannot avoid the risk of PVP in a PvPvE zone. Ganking, camping, bombing, and zerging are all working as intended. Those are valid tactics, even encouraged tactics in PVP zones, and if you are going to do PVP for an event or want to eventually become a PVPer, you MUST prepare to deal with them. Failing to prepare means certain death. Your opponent is playing the game as allowed, and it is your responsibility to prepare for the PVP you queued up for, not your opponents' responsibility to make sure you have a good time.

My guides lay that out plainly and, I hope, go through some of the basics of how experienced players deal with those tactics. New players will struggle through the learning curve, much as I did when I was new. At least they won't be blindsided and bitter when someone ganks them, or their quest objective or gate is getting camped by an opponent. They'll know what to expect, they'll know its an allowed tactic, and they'll have some ideas for how they can prepare for it.

In my experience, PVP is a lot more fun when you know what you are getting into. It's a lot less fun when you get all aggrieved about completely normal tactics like ganking and camping. And its worse when you feel aggrieved because some PVEers act like those tactics aren't completely normal, but rather are - depending on the poster - everything from a cheap tactic to henious deeds done by heinous people who like kicking puppies, instead of allowed tactics done by people playing in the PvPvE zone we all willingly queued up for.

Its so much better to be upfront. PVP, its all its forms, is going to happen in a PvPvE zone. Prepare for PVP, or be prepared to die. If you can't handle that, maybe give PVP a miss.

The people who can handle that are the one's who become PVPers.

I love seeing people falling in love with IC. It’s my home away from home. Sewer rat for life!

Also some tips - always group up as you get more telvar, ap, and exp as a group. Safety in numbers too if you’re new to the area, and it makes it easier for people to find your dead body to Rez you. Nothing wrong with solo play down here as that’s equally as fun, but can be stressful if new.

We should definitely camp base gates and smash them all coming out, that will certainly encourage people. You've changed my mind.

Incidentally, while I don't remember the name, there is or was a Korean MMO where higher level players were allowed to go the tutorial areas and kill lowbie players. And was considered acceptable.

In any game with open PvP, you should always expect the unexpected.

^oi lads dont bicker about petty things. if it gets kills and is viable people will use it, thats the whole game, even if the tactic is sad. this post wasnt made for this lol. when you step into a pvp zone you know what to expect, simple as that.
