If one has a number of high level characters, one has more options for making more gold faster and if one is in a major trading guild... Or should “from scratch” mean new account, new characters, no prior assets but your knowledge of the game?1 -

moonpawc✭✭I made a necromancer when the patch came out, have leveled him 1-50 solely by questing and have made about 1 million gold (not really counting, but I had ~4 million before him and ~5 million after leveling).
I have been selling SOME stuff in guild store, but nothing really expensive (like a cool staff or rare motif).
So without really trying it took maybe 1-2 months. Been selling most of his loot, stealing a bit through Dark Brotherhood, opened chests, gold rewards from quests, dungeons etc.0 -

But today i was trying to see if i could do 1 million on a day when ZoS shoot the server, i farmed for 5 hours straight and still pretend to continue when the server come back, i will sell everything and then calculate if it's 1 million or not
I'm just in doubt if i should stop with 5K Rubedite Ore or 10K Rubedite Ore... any clues?

A small tip for long-time players with thousands of cooking ingredients collecting dust in crafting bags... With new multicrafting tool, you can craft stacks of green food (cp50-150) in just 1 click and then sell the food to a npc merchant for 500 gold per stack. ✭✭✭✭Crafting writs are an easy way to get wealth per hour, even with no other grinding other than the initial certifications and the writs themselves. They're better on the PC than consoles, however, I would imagine, due to Dolgubon's Lazy Writ Crafter add-on. And there is a lot of space for further grinding, of skill points and craft tiers alike. (If you grind craft tiers AND invest skill points you get hireling emails, better rewards in general, and lower costs for your alchemy writs in particular.)Edited by FrancisCrawford on September 3, 2019 9:43AM1 -

When I leveled up in 2014, I had about 20k in the bank and felt that was a very handy sum. Most of my gold disappeared on repairs ah ha ha. Then nirncrux started dropping - the prices players were getting seemed like all the gold in the game:)
And all you had to do was to get to Upper Crag.
Adventuring up to Upper Crag on my Vet 1 is one of my favorite overland memories. I tried to kill some wasps and learnt quickly that Crag was totally brutal.
I assumed I'd never make it to Upper Crag.
I pulled my first crux near Dragonstar arena and I kept thinking -" I just about doubled my bank. This is too easy" That's when my trading in the game started.
I farmed crux and other things, was alchemist for a hardcore PvP guild and eventually got my first million.

Personally, if I play content for an evening, perhaps 3 or 4 hours... and I focus on gold, I can make several tens of thousand. So, I guess if that was the only thing I focused on it would take perhaps around 3 months.
Technically speaking I imagine it can be done a lot faster than that.
