How long would it take you to make 1 million gold

1 week farming Tel Var and selling stuff like Hakeijo / Black Rose via guild trader. If you gamble on the boxes and get a sharpened Black Rose sword or dagger, maybe you'd do it quicker. I'm talking about slow and steady though.

Yep, my first year in the game it was a struggle to be over 100,000 gold. But, once the bags were upgraded, it started rolling in. Well, it was probably rolling in before, just it was rolling out just as quick.

200 days, or just under 7 months.

I recently worked out that I can make an average of 5,000g a day (mostly from stealing and writs, and allowing for days when I can't log in), and 1,000,000/5,000 is 200.

(Yes I know that if I spend X hours a day grinding Y then I can make thousands more, but the question was "how long would it take YOU to make 1 million gold" and that's how long it takes me doing things I am interested in doing in-game.)

Was just about to say that. One million gold can be had from as little as two million AP on guild traders if you sell Akaviri motifs (in person you may need three million AP). I've picked up 200k AP over the last three days (maybe 6 or 7 hours total) on an unlevelled character without grouping or doing a Cyrodiil delve and I'm terrible at PVP.

Can't sell gold jewelry though can you? For some reason I thought it was bound. At least when bought with gold it is.

To turn it into 2 then into 3, etc. Fastest way by far is flipping items, with the exception of getting extremely lucky with high voucher writs.

Considering houses go up a little over 3mil there is multiple reasons to need more than a million.

Bear in mind that when some people talk about what they can do in a day in-game they mean literally a full day - 6 hours or more logged in and actively playing.

In this case they also won't spend that time actually playing the game - they'll be scouring guild traders for items being sold cheaply to buy and re-sell immediately with a huge mark-up, or farming popular motifs and things to sell. Or they're only counting the time it takes to buy items with other currencies or withdraw items they've gotten before and saved in the bank and sell them.

Or a mix of all of the above.

I went from 0 to 1.2M gold in 3 months, without particularly trying to grind for gold -- just selling what I accumulate in the course of playing that is of more value to others than to me. Seems to me that a million a month would be doable if that was my goal in the game.

One of the fastest way I could get gold fast if I wanted to would be HM SotH dungeons. Motif pages sell for 30-50k gold on top guild stores and it takes roughly 30 minutes to complete those dungeons with guild mates or friends. I have to turn away people sometimes because they ask me to tank those dungeons non stop during week-ends. And the prices have not fallen much over 7 weeks.

Gold per minute is probably the best indicator of how quickly you can make gold in this game, since everyone's play time is different. There is an addon for this if you want, it's called Gold Accountant.

150 - 200 gold per minute is pretty easy to make just by grinding mobs and / or stealing and fencing stuff. If you sell good drops at Guild kiosks then you can double that easily.

So for me just casually playing for 2 hours a day it would take me around 40 days, or half that if I bothered selling my higher value stuff in a guild.

Play more, make more.

It's possible if you looted a cipher, or had one of the tradeable Decoy scrolls right before it became BoP. My guildy made 4m off a decoy scroll from the bug

A while. I'm not in a guild with a kiosk and I do maybe a couple of hours of casual play (think writs, then pledges or heists or something, nothing is set in stone) on weeknights. Whenever I notice my pockets are getting heavy, I shove most of my gold into the bank.

If i just do stealing and selling it to fence and just sell blues i can get easily 35k per day (250*140)

But even greens which are 100 i can get 14k per day. So 1 million would take me 71 days of only stealing if i just sell the green ones.

But that said i am lazy and never had more then 500k and i play since early access. Currently i have less then 40k and doing only PvP does not really award money. I do not like being in a tradeguild (inactive 2 weeks=kick or profit to low=kick) so i mostly sell stuff on guildstore for very low (standard price 2k since im to lazy to find out what others charge).

But i hardly sell stuff as i am to lazy to go to bank and mostly deconstruct everything.

I'm on my second million.... I gave up on the first.

Most Ive ever had was about 350k at once. If I could stop spending gold I would probably get there, easier said than done however.

I've been playing since beta, and I only have about 200k in the bank. I don't ever focus on making gold...I just do the stuff I want to do for fun, and I get enough gold to cover my expenses. If I really focused on grinding out gold, I could probably get a mill in about a week, but I'd have to spend the whole week doing stuff that isn't "fun" for me. Not worth it. My limited playtime is better spent enjoying the game than worrying about getting rich. That being said, I have been turning a tidy profit lately from just doing writs and using any writ vouchers I get to buy and sell Ebony motifs.

Doing 2 sets of town quests in Cyrodill + Daily crafting writs + a few other random daily quests + 1 Undaunted dungeon run quest. Then selling items that are trash to the vendor (not selling in a guild store)

I will usually walk away with 40K in gold easy in a day that way.

So about 25 days of pretty casual questing in game for a Million gold.
