Tired of "fake tanks" in random queues

He just do normal run, runing with the rest 3 of the party, killing everything.
Even if he cant hold agro and someone die is np because overal is faster.
All we mind are selfish high CP players who once inside rush to final boss without even say hi. Dont even trying to dps mobs he pass. And let ppl behind to strugle.
We also mind the low levels queing as tanks but runing with no shield or frost staff.
I dont know which are worse, but i hate both of them.
They both show one thing/ very cleary.

Hell I got lot of them in the 1st boss of vMalatar, never kick so much "tank".

There are no “fake” DD’s, just bad ones. Unless they are listed as a DD and are healing and buffing the group, or heavy armor taunting debuffing the boss, they are just a bad DD, not a fake.
Yes, there are fake DDs: When a DD can't out-dps the tank or the healer, than it is pretty much a fake one. When it takes 10 minutes to kill a normal mode boss, yes, then you have fake DDs. Those snipe and/or light attack spamming people aren't damage dealers, they are "adventurers" who belong to the overland.4 -

Well, that's quickly the kind of stress you get as a DD if everyone else is dead and you have to solo the bone colossus boss in vFH because everyone died due to a fake tank. Now you would say that "we" completed the fight, but really it was me. And if I wanted to solo the dungeon, I wouldn't stand around for 40 minutes in the DPS queue.5 -

Yep. What I experience often tanking PUG missions is high CP DPS who are obviously leveling non damage skills on their main bar, and think it won't matter in Normal if they do less than 10k DPS, sometimes less than 5k... on very high level CP players. So they sit and do maybe one DOT and then light attack. What they don't realize, or more likely don't care because they are *** playing in an *** fashion, is that Normal PUGs are full of newer players who naturally do 5k-10k DPS and sometimes even less. Add to that lots of newer healers who think their job is to sit back and watch the health bars and contribute no DPS. Can make even easier normal dungeons painful and very draggy.
So yes, there are definitely fake DPS in addition to fake Tanks and Healers.

If you have magicka characters, healing is easy. If I have trouble in a dungeon as a healer, it's always either because I was failing to stay alive myself (e.g. getting one-shotted) or because I was bewildered about the mechanics (like the time I did Frostvault and realized the guides I'd read didn't give me a clue as to which skill was which on the new skillbar).0 -

We dont speak about NEW players. Or players who cant play properly their roles. I dont mind such players. I even help them. With advice, or just ingame support. Little push here and there.
We dont mind high CP players, who can solo the entire dungeon and que as a tank/ even hes not/ to cut the 1h que as dps. But once iside, even whitout taunt, he stick with the grp and i dont mean reading notes or watching the lovely interior.
He just do normal run, runing with the rest 3 of the party, killing everything.
Even if he cant hold agro and someone die is np because overal is faster.
All we mind are selfish high CP players who once inside rush to final boss without even say hi. Dont even trying to dps mobs he pass. And let ppl behind to strugle.

I dont know which are worse, but i hate both of them.

✭✭✭✭Instead of castigating people for being fake tanks, why not look at -why- they feel it's necessary.
As someone who is a main tank, I hear a lot of people saying how they want to learn to tank, but they don't want to tank in PUGs. They just want to tank for their guilds, where they have healers they trust to keep them up, and DPS who know what they're doing. And as someone who tanks PUGs, I've run the gamut and seen every possible permutation of "bad [X]". But honestly, I think the -biggest- thing causing people not to want to tank, or to start with the best of intentions and then give up, is anti-social behaviour on the part of the group they end up in - especially in DLC dungeons. Let me illustrate with a few examples.
As a tank who likes to have nice smooth runs where people don't die, I am happy to take the time to educate newer players by taking smaller pulls and explaining mechanics of boss fights, so they can go on to enjoy the dungeons without feeling like they have no clue what they're doing in the future (especially in boss fights - in vanilla dungeons I'll just wait for their quest). At the start of the dungeon, I always ask if there is anyone who hasn't been in the dungeon before. Often, in normal dungeons, people will happily put up their hands and say so if they haven't, and I'll pace the dungeon so that they don't feel rushed. By not making them feel rushed, they get into the swing of things and usually speed up anyway so it doesn't slow us down that much. If I'm lucky, I'll have two DPS who haven't been there and I can take my time with the explanations. If I'm very lucky, I'll have a DD who's experienced but doesn't mind going a little slower. If I'm unlucky, the DPS will just charge ahead and nuke the entire dungeon, because *** other people amirite? Sometimes, the -healer- will resent the slower pace, or the "babying" of new players and will either initiate a vote to kick (sometimes me, sometimes the lowbie DPS), or will leave the group. Or the healer is a fake healer and they just slot their regular destro staves and nuke the dungeon.
So, normal is generally ok, and if people don't manage to get their quest done because of one dickhead who's been antisocial, I'll run the same dungeon again with them, hoping for a roll of the dice on some more understanding people. I mean, if normal dungeons are meant to be training for vet, I think we should actually be taking the opportunity to help train people for vet. Call me crazy.
On vet, I do the same call at the start of the dungeon. Except that on vet, people are so afraid of getting kicked for "slowing down a run" that they will lie to me and say they've been there when they haven't. Now, I'm not going to kick people for not knowing mechanics, but apparently others do otherwise they wouldn't lie and pretend they do. I would much rather explain each fight so that they know what to do for the future, but I've had people leave group because I took the time to explain mechanics, or I've had the other DPS just go ahead and pull ahead of me because I was explaining something because they didn't want to wait the extra 30-40 seconds. I think they think they are going to make me panic into abandoning the newbie and "saving" them, because when I don't they usually ragequit. But personally, I would rather take the extra minute to explain the fight, than potentially have a 2 minute fight take ten minutes or more because the mechanics wiped us. People are usually extremely grateful for a) not being kicked and b) finally knowing what they need to do.
Back to the point though - people have been so conditioned now in vet queues to pretending they know they what they're doing, because any perceived "weakness" gets you summarily kicked, that vet dungeons are now stressful for everyone, not enjoyable as they should be. And - to bring it back to my very first point - when you have teams in vet dungeons who don't know what to do because they're always in groups that just stack and burn, that makes the tank's life infinitely more stressful because you are the one who gets blamed, and you -have- to pick up the slack when people die to mechanics. When it's not fun to tank something, you just don't do it. And that's how you end up in a situation where my tank DF group pops the instant I queue, and people join as fake tanks because otherwise they wait forty minutes for a dungeon.
I make it my job to know all the mechanics for every dungeon so I can help teach people. Everyone has to learn them at some point. They can't learn them on normal because everyone steamrolls it at 100 miles an hour and the mechanics are lol. They can't learn them on vet because they are ruthlessly kicked for "not having enough CP for HM" or "needing the quest" or "dying once" or anything else that slows down the group (even though I'm setting the pace). Fake tanks are not the problem. They are a symptom of the problem. Yes, I know we've all seen the content before and yes, we all just want to get it over with for the rewards, but instead of blaming the fake tanks maybe we should all be looking in the mirror.

It would be really nice if ZOS had some kind of tutorial or message somewhere that gave players basic dungeon etiquette. Maybe in the group finder, as you sign up?

When a DPS does this to me when I'm tanking I simply ignore them and let them run up ahead pulling everything. 9 times out of 10 they just get slaughtered anyway which is quite humorous to watch and makes the dungeon a little more amusing than it would otherwise be - especially when they keep doing it over and over.
Had a Templar DPS doing this in Vet Volenfell the other day in fact. It was just funny watching his stupidity at work - because he would literally keep trying to rush us by running up ahead and dying again and again... and again. It was like watching a comedy.
Back when I queued solo as a tank (to help GF out) if a player was a jerk and started the pulls I suggested I could leave the group. OMG the others vote kicked the person fast as they did not want to lose the tank and could see the guy was being a jerk.0 -

All we mind are selfish high CP players who once inside rush to final boss without even say hi. Dont even trying to dps mobs he pass. And let ppl behind to strugle.
We also mind the low levels queing as tanks but runing with no shield or frost staff.
I dont know which are worse, but i hate both of them.

✭✭✭✭Even though I do not vote to kick fake tanks, I hate these kinds of players. These players feel they are better than others and do not have to wait in queue because of it. If you sign up for a role, be that role. Honestly I do not care if you suck at the role itself.
Why do I hate fake tanks:
1: They actually lower dps by ALOT, due to not tanking but running around, making bosses avoid aoe's and other attacks. Also often making others lose line of sight.
2: They cause other players to die alot due to not being able to hold aggro at all. Making dps die = lower dps, even if you feel you are doing enough dps for queueing as tank.
3: They cause alot of unnecessary wipes. Making the dungeons take longer than they should.
4: They lower dps by making other dps tank and having to run around as well, to avoid boss damage.
5: If they get a DLC dungeon, the DPS who were in queue for a long time, have to sit in queue yet again due to them leaving or getting kicked.
6: Since it will be usually the highest dps who pulls boss aggro when there is a fake tank, this means they will actually lower the highest available DPS, often even to 0 due to the highest DPS dying.
7: If they cause an entire run to fail, real DPS again have to sit out a huge queue for another dungeon.
8: If I spend a long time in queue as DPS, I deserve to have an actual tank in my dungeon, like there should be. False roles punishes honest players.
9: Probably some other reasons I did not think of right now.
I see alot of players here saying you do not really need a tank in normal non-dlc dungeons, this is false! They slow even normal dungeons down to a halt most of the time, some reasons are mentioned above.
Fake tanks annoy the hell out of me. Be the role you signed up for, you are not so special that you do not have to wait in queue just like everyone else!
PS: DPS who pull groups or bosses annoy me as well. Let the tank pull.10 -

I'm not the only one who has no idea what you expect inexperienced players to do, when you complain about "fakers" in all roles.
We dont speak about NEW players. Or players who cant play properly their roles. I dont mind such players. I even help them. With advice, or just ingame support. Little push here and there.
We dont mind high CP players, who can solo the entire dungeon and que as a tank/ even hes not/ to cut the 1h que as dps. But once iside, even whitout taunt, he stick with the grp and i dont mean reading notes or watching the lovely interior.
He just do normal run, runing with the rest 3 of the party, killing everything.
Even if he cant hold agro and someone die is np because overal is faster.
All we mind are selfish high CP players who once inside rush to final boss without even say hi. Dont even trying to dps mobs he pass. And let ppl behind to strugle.
We also mind the low levels queing as tanks but runing with no shield or frost staff.
I dont know which are worse, but i hate both of them.

Its all about principles. Roles should not be abused only because someone have not time to wait in que as dps ...
