Missing Bank Items, Bank Slots, & Skill Points

    Ticket # 140411-078784 was marked solved, but I have not received my bank slots back (had 100) nor have I been reimbursed for them.

    My ticket was listed as Resolved, but I still don't have my bank slots. I lost 50 bank slots and have no idea how much gold as I would randomly just add in a few thousand here and there for mules to send items.
    If I could actually sign into my main char account (can't sign into Bangkorai), I would verify whether or not I lost skill points. After reading some of these messages, I didn't know that was even happening.

    I didn't realize that skill points were being lost either. I'm going to have to see if I've been afflicted with that as well. Yikes.

    Have the love the utter noise of silence from the devs and customer service other than "it will be fixed in a future patch" and the ever popular "if you open another ticket we will just close it as a duplicate"

    I along with the others who have stated the same will vote with my wallet in a few weeks if we do not have an acceptable resolution... this game may go free to play a lot sooner than I had hoped

    We will be performing a regularly scheduled maintenance on the European and North American megaservers tomorrow, Tuesday April 15th.
    The European megaserver will be brought down at 5:00 AM BST / 6:00 AM CEST. At this time, we expect the European megaserver to be back online by late morning.
    The North American megaserver will be brought down at 8:00 AM EDT / 1:00 PM BST. At this time, we expect the North American megaserver to be back online by midday.
    During this maintenance, we will be pushing a new patch that includes a number of updates and fixes. We will be posting the full patch notes around 12:00 AM EDT / 5:00 AM BST, and will let you know when each of the megaservers are back online.

    I first made a bug report when i got the 4 mails with preorder and imperial bonus being given a second time (i used bug report for that one so i don't have the ticket number saved) then found the bank issue at which point i made a proper ticket :

    Only lost the bank slots (and probably also the items in the missing slot), can't say if i was at 90 or 100 bank slot, all i remember is the next rank costing more than 20 000 gold)


    What i did when it happened : logged in the game on my main character and put armors and weapons i wanted to extract in the bank, then went on a second char to pick said items, extracted them and put the materials gained in the bank. At that point i logged on a third character i use to keep crafting materials and that's when the bug triggered.


    Looking a bit at what Soulreave mentioned, i also have my account and a blank string one (like this : [""]) in the ZO_ingame.lua but what i find really strange in it is that all my characters are listed in the section under my account name, but the section under the blank account is missing two of my characters including the one i switched to when the bug triggered. I tried to log back on those two characters and interact with the bank or progress to the next step in the current quest but even after that they were never mentioned in the section under the blank account name, those two characters are Spiked-head and Keep-all-things.

    Comparing the file during my play session, i just realized the order of both account changed at some point while i was experimenting, probably while i switched characters or when i exited the game. At first i had the section with my account name right under ["Default"] and then the [""], in the latest file it's the opposite, i have [""] right under ["Default"] and the section with my account name is the last one. I saved the file in both situation and can send them to a mod if that can help.

    really I'd only have a problem if I lost slots/stacks of mats again. I just wanted reimbursement for the 3x upgrade(11,000 coin) I lost and had to pay for again.

    I never got a reply (the first ticket submitted over a week ago) so I went ahead and repurchased 3x upgrades to bank. I lost 30 stacks of mats from playing for two weeks up to the bug (crunched 90 slots down to 60). I finally rec'd a response but its been back and forth so far. This is the response I posted today to the genius that's just waving a wand over the monitor and passing the buck on. Of course it's got a bitter streak in it, I'm a veteran and have been playing MMO's since EQ2 came out (I still can't stand WoW):

    "We're confident at this time that no slots and no items have been lost"

    - right, what are u smokin over there? gimme some

    "Please note that it would be best that players don't purchase additional bank spaces, as they may be lost when this is fixed in an upcoming patch. If you are out of room and need to purchase more bank slots, please contact customer support once this issue is resolved and we will be happy to assist you."

    - ehem <cough, cough> so your fix is to have players stop playing the game till its fixed??? again, please share the funny smelling weeds your smoking. the only way to play any game of this nature is to have max capacity for storage - otherwise there is no point. why your admins decided to follow the hershey highway of storage most of the forunning (horrid) games have laid out is beyond this multiverse. We have to spend more than a quarter of game time shuffling items around so as not to lose them. So of course I upgraded my bank slots again - otherwise I would not be able to play. Thats why I created this ticket in the first place and explained everything. And its not like everybody else with this problem stopped playing either - they also re-bought the upgrades. If we needed to stop playing then you should have let us known and refunded us for this ridiculousness.

    Hi @ZOS_JessicaFolsom, I submitted a new ticket in response to this thread to advise my issue wasn't fixed, but as I haven't received a response to it yet, I don't know the ticket number. This was the same day this thread was posted.

    My current ticket number is [Incident: 140412-097257]. This was submitted when I was first hit with the bug, and I'm hoping is still open, as I sent a response that also has yet to be addressed. I'm eagerly awaiting more information.

    I have been unable to play for 2 days now due to the loss of all my equipped gear, inventory gear/crafting materials (from my character's 80 slots and all 100 bank slots) and my skill points being reset (I shouldn't say "reset", however as it did not return any of the points that I have previously spent). I am being as patient as I can but I am essentially losing money due to this major disability, I should hope there be some compensation, (xp consumable boost, etc.) as I should be through the next 2 zones by now. Needless to say I am quite disappointed that this even could happen, I appreciate that you are working hard to fix it, but I hope this gets fixed soon.

    I pre ordered the Digital 79.99 ESO on ESO webpage; I logged in 5 days before anyone else; created a character and then noticed my bank stash was about to exceed. I upgraded to the next level. I then still was getting too much. I created an ALT; and then created 3 more alts as i decided to separate my crafting stash. I would then log out of main, log in alt, log back in main drop more items, log in another alt, rinse repeat.

    Later I noticed I received 4 emails saying "thank you for pre ordering heres your freebies"

    I have 4x4 emails. I in theory can probably get 16 pets. I havent deleted a single one as I've kept them in case they want proof about the consistency.

    On the very very first time I noticed all my bank items were gone. I logged out of game completely, logged back in, still nothing. I rebooted PC, logged back in and nothing.

    I ran a Repair Tool...on a whim...logged in and voila 60/60 items were in there...and like others have stated, perhaps the overstock goes to alts.

    So please Create your alts...Run a Repair...log in and see if you have your items.

    I entirely reinstalled the game (to see if that would help the constant CTDs and BSODs that've started since the most recent maintenance), and that did not result in any of my items being restored. The first time a logged in to a character after losing my bank and logging out, a bunch of overflow did get shoved into their inventory, but I still lost over half of my bank, and 30 slots of upgrades.

    Actually, you don't have to do this, you generally just have to log on an alt and then log back to get the items to reappear.

    – We're continuing to investigate the issue, and are working on a fix now. As soon as the fix is ready, we will push it out to the live megaservers.
    Please note: This may result in a second maintenance this week and when we do push the fix, it will not be retroactive. Know that we want to make this right for all impacted—we’re still exploring options to help those who have stored items/gold, and bank slots go missing.

    No fix for tomorrow, maybe later this week.
    In any case it seems we're not getting our items back since the fix will not be retroactive...

    Posting here at this point seems like a blackhole but I'll do it anyway.

    My bank slots were reset, my items and gold lost, my tickets marked "Solved."

    The really frustrating part is not knowing whether or not I should go ahead and upgrade my bank again. The game is very difficult to manage with a maxed out 60-slot bank—not to mention the gold and items I have lost.

    If support wants to just send me the gold for 3 bank upgrades and an extra 10-15k for mats, I'll call it even. I don't need them to spend ages busting their necks over crafting mats. They can be replaced by gold, which is pretty easy to send out. Now, if there were people who lost purple/yellow tempers/runes, that's a different story.

    I got a free respec to fix my missing skills. Items are still missing though. So now I'm naked, itemless, and horseless....but I have some skills at least!

    Has anyone had any success getting back in touch with a rep like this? I directly replied to the email, but I'm not sure it gets routed back to her.

    Actually, you don't have to do this, you generally just have to log on an alt and then log back to get the items to reappear.

    I tried both. Repair did NOTHING, and the other only gave back the content in the first 60 slots, not the last 30, and ONLY on my main. They are still missing on my toon.

    So not tomorrow, but hopefully soon (if one decides to take the optimistic view).

    I would be thrilled if only the bug were fixed as soon as possible. I'm fairly sure a retroactive fix could be crafted, but it would likely take longer, perhaps much longer.

    We can deal with the recovery of stuff afterward, but the longer this bug stays live the more customers are hit with it, especially the trouncing of actual characters (skill points, etc.)

    Ok, so in the mean time while they work out the problems with my main character of level 20, I decided to created a second character and start over so at LEAST I can play the game.
    Bleak Rock Isle. I've completed all the things to do there and now I am working the "Escape Bleak Rock Isle" - "Use The Switch". Ummm the switch is NOT there - its gone. Cannot complete the quest. Cannot play the game. This is utterly a dismal release failure. I am disgusted with the game. I want my money back. Im done.

    For those who lost bank upgrades/items/deposited gold, you may want to look at this thread: A fix "may" come in this week, but it won't be retroactive. IOW, we won't be getting back what we lost unfortunately.

    Lol I fail to see how repairing your local installation is going to magically have any influence on Zenimax's databases lol.

    When you get the bank bug just have patience, relog a couple times, log an alt etc and most will see the items in the bank come back. Those items that didn't fit will in most cases just spill out into the inventories of different characters. This worked every time for me without having to repair my installation lol.

    Will we be seeing this patched and fixed/resolved with our items returned and bank size restored this Tuesday with the major patch or is this still being worked on? As of now I can't even make a new bank alt because Cold Harbor tutorial skip is broken and I don't want to run through to get a new bank alt.

    I read that as "The eventual fix will squish the bug, but won't automatically restore your stuff so we're looking into how we can manually restore your stuff."

    I believe a fully automated fix would take a decent amount of extra time and I doubt anyone wants this bug to exist one second longer than necessary.

    I expect they'll look at going through the transaction logs to get our stuff back, but since that will be a manual process, I would expect it to take quite some time. All I'd really want restored for sure is the gold I spent for my lost slots.

    Yes, they are going to restore things, but it will probably have to be done manually.

    Welp there goes 100K worth of gold and the ten days game time it took to get it, all of my crafting items, all of my uniques, purples, maps, stored hard gold, invested gold to upgrade to a 100 slot bank, trinkets, pets...basically everything.
