Switch campain. before you join a campain you can see if they are balanced populated or not.
That's a workaround. I'm simply pointing out a real issue many are having. Of course I can overcome this by leaving and making it worse for the others that are sticking around. I also understand how guesting works but I put myself in a handicap due to how guesting limits your factor in ranking.

Question is, what solution do you propose?
Imbalance is a problem endemic to players themselves. The majority of players will choose a "team" that is already winning because they want an easy victory. This has been the case in online games since online games came online. That is why sidelocking exists in most competetive PvP games.
So whiny and cowardly are the majority of PvP players, that if you even suggest they be forced into fairly balanced teams (in terms of numbers) they will scream and cry and quit and use player liberty as an excuse.
Undoubtedly one or two people will come along and post about how they are awesome and always play for the underdog (such as myself) but they are the exceptions that prove the rule.
I wouldn't mind seeing players pushed into competitive teams. I think where it becomes a problem is with guilds, where people are heavily coordinating their PvP time, playing together, using RaidCall, etc. They want to play as one cohesive unit, and if you start moving people around to balance teams you break that. So I guess it is a question of which is more important.
