I'll take that buff off your hands.

Unless it has an incredibly ugly graphical aura, in which case I'll take two.

It does indeed come from the Wilderking, his way of helping you while you stay within the home territory (you would of had to persuade him to do it).

I have no clue how to get rid of it and haven't yet seen if it goes away (like it should) outside of the AD home territories.

Can somebody point out a video showing this effect?
If it isn´t too annoying I can imagine working with it from a RP point of view.

Though thanks for finally pointing out how to get it, and avoid it.

Sounds like the typical "unfixable" Zenimax bug.
Similar to disguises for certain areas that disappear by themselves after engaging in combat but one can keep wearing them after that.

  • gregrwb17_ESO1
Have any of you checked your character sheet to see if you still have the disguise (costume) on from the Wilderking quest line? I can see by the OP screenshots that the flower is in their hair from the costume.

I have this buff and it isn't annoying. And it certainly isn't from Cyrodiil cause I have not touched PvP. I am using the veiled heritance disguise so it isn't from the disguise from the wilderking quest line

My only complaint about the buff is the graphical swirling colours that make me stand out on the battle field of Cyrodiil being a healer I'm already a priority target and I don't really like painting another target on my chest plate.

    All of this^^

It was from a quest you guys completed. There is no way to get rid of it as far as I know. There should be an option to turn it off or remove it. I personally adore the little lights floating around and would be pretty sad it they took away entirely lol

I have this too. I don't really mind, it's a (very small) buff, and the lights are not too distracting for me... But it's obviously a bug.

Still, please fix the numerous other bugs (I'm stuck on a main quest for 4 days now) first!

are you guys really complaining about a +5% armor buff? ridiculous.
Luminous beings, are we; not this crude matter.
  • ramasurinenpreub18_ESO
We're not complaining about the stat buff itself, just the visual effect that comes with it. It's hugely distracting and irritating, especially in first person mode, and it's *always* on.

If there were no non-stop visual effect getting in our way, believe me we wouldn't be complaining! :)

No one here is complaining about the stat buff, at most, people are pointing a clear bug out.

What we ARE complaining about is this infuriating visual effect that has plagued some of us for more than a week now and is getting really tiresome to look at. Nothing else in the game frustrates me more than this effect.

Pretty sure it's meant to stay. I don't think this one is a bug. You had a choice in the storyline and the choice that was made gave you the buff and the lights that come along with it.

They should add in an option to turn off the visual though. Hopefully they don't get rid of it completely when they find out some people are upset because of it.

Or perhaps they should make it so it's not visable in first person? Seems like it would only really bother people with that setting.

I got it from the quest in... Greenshade I believe? You are meeting that Wilderman guy or whatever for the 1st time. You click his stone, and if you have persaude, you can ask him to buff you for the next fight. Then you keep the buff.

At least I think that's what it's from. And if I'm correct, it should have just been a buff for that mini-boss fight for the quest. Wouldn't surprise me if it's bugged.

If it were working as intended, nearly every character above a certain level will have the swirling leaves effect. That seems unlikely. At best.

It's not a bug... if you choose to [persuade] the wilderking to lend you aid, then he will place this buff on you.

Now, everyone tell the wilderking thank you, and start reading the quest dialogs from time to time. (TBH - I only read it today because I'm just in the mood for immersion)
  • ramasurinenpreub18_ESO
Lend you aid yes, temporarily, not for the rest of your character's existence, especially since he's now been dead for awhile! And nowhere in the description did it say what the "aid" would be. Also you can only get this if you've unlocked the mage's guild persuade ability. I wish I never had now.

There is no way this is meant to be permanent. I'm positive it was meant to be like the buffs you can get from those fire braziers in Grahtwood, which give a temporary 1 hour boost.

I've exchanged 5+ emails now with ZOS support, to try and get this stupid effect removed, and all I get is the same rehashed "try /camp" or drop quest etc. It's like talking to a wall. I've filed a support ticket with a request for a callback now. Maybe I'll even get one.

This is just getting stupid. ZOS, *please* either get rid of it, or give players the ability to cancel ALL buffs on their characters, "beneficial" or not.
