Are they even attempting to fix anything?

This one will add his fifty septims in this conversation. But before men and mer complain and call this Khajiit names such as Fan-cat, this one must tell them about himself. Ri'Dariit has had his shares of problems, mostly due to poor logistical, and marketing issues during launch. New MMO this is, many problems arise, one gets fixed, others happen. First this one was angry, called customer support, never received a phone call back. Khajiit contacted via email, still no help. This one practiced patience, and after a bit, he received good response, clearly and confirmation that people in department making choice are clueless, but customer service really tries. So Ri'Dariit started being nice to customer service and actually received the help he required. This one called again after a week for other problem and help returned phone call after 10 minutes. Khajiit was very happy and made sure to tell help about it. Today, the final problem had been solved, and this one hopes there will be no more.

The moral of this story is that this is a new world, and world is a very complex system between zeros and ones. Sometimes a zero doesn't like the one, or any other combination creates problems. Problems we as players must anticipate. The story showed you that it was a rough start, but the makers are really trying to make this work, all they ask for you in return that you have faith with them. Give them three months, still same attitude, please leave this world as I would too. They might bring down world to fix something, or just to reset horrible bug of lag. Makers bring it back up, lag fixed, new problems happen, C'est La Vie. Just like real life mer and men must understand that things happen, you cannot control. Azura forbid, you loose your job tomorrow, will you yell at boss, economy or leader of your country for that?

    so choice is yours
    a) have faith and patience as this one, things will fix itself over time
    b) have faith and see that makers don't care, leave as everyone will
    c) have no patience and play game of birds being angry

P.S. Ri'Dariit doesn't understand how players always talk about millions of coin for makers. Apparently men or mer don't understand how much game creation cost, there is loan repayment, salaries, budgets and many other things, Sweetroll for thought!

Yep, one of them is trying to figure out the coffee maker and the other is finding the bagels.

Seriously, from what I hear they have 3 times the folks working on the DLC for next month than they have working on bugs. Its time to move the content backwards and get all hands on board to stabilize the game. Either that or start having marketing working on your F2P stuff because they are only about 2 months from needing it.

But what about all the people who were ranting on Beth's forum that if the content isn't released on schedule they will unsub until they do. After all the people are paying a monthly sub and they want their content on the same schedule, by the Divines.

When it was pointed out that there might be other circumstances that would change the schedule of 4-6 weeks those posters said, basically, tough guar dung; they want my money they produce the content or I unsub.

[I don't know why the mental image of a younger kid stomping his foot on the ground and crossing his arms comes to mind, but it does.]

Personally, I do think they should hold any other new content until they get the bank space issue fixed, along with a few other issues they need to fix and have them stay fixed. People who want to play the game on a long term basis would understand the delay. The ones who don't wouldn't anyway; they're waiting for it to go free to play.

Wait, I don't understand? Is Ri'Dariit a khajit in real life? Are you roleplaying a humanoid cat that sends emails and contacts customer support via phone?

    This is confusing

What they SHOULD fix is the broken ass hit detection. I'm uploading a video to youtube now showing just how BAD it is, I mean getting hit from 3-5 meters away especially by melee is complete and utter BS. And this has been happening well since the start, and yet the beta was fine...

Either that or start having marketing working on your F2P stuff because they are only about 2 months from needing it.

The skills to make content are not the skills to fix content.

When you say people working on DLC I ask you this :

    Is that skins?

    Environments?

    Story?

    Animations?

    Voice Acting?

Those are all parts of creating content in ESO, and not one would be expected to have the skills to fix PROGRAMMING issues.

And not signs of progress visible to US doesn't mean they are doing nothing as some seem to be implying.

I will agree though at this point having an address to the players put together by someone who knows what's going on but not one of the fixers would be nice.

Totally agree. Even if we were only talking about programming, the person fixing the code may not even be the person who wrote it. Even if the person wrote it they may not remember anything about it since the game is so huge and they probably worked on a ton of other things. I (optimistically) imagine that the code is clean, efficient and well-documented to help others who go back to fix it.

Even so, there are a lot of complexities that go into fixing a problem. One, they have to figure out what's really the problem rather than guessing, and that takes time. Two, you don't want them fixing it as quickly as possible only to cause new problems.

If they haven't fix something yet they may have trouble pinpointing what's causing the problem since it requires a very special circumstance to reproduce. It's also possible that fixing the problem may take a lot of refactoring the code and could take a lot of time/man-power to complete and/or could possibly result in more problems if they aren't careful. Also, there may be things more important than that specific bug that they needed to address first.

They WERE the only things running, skype offline so its not using anything anyway, and chrome has bugger all open let alone enough to even do that much damage that it lags the game this bad. This is server sided because if it was on my side I wouldn't be able to see any players at all or interact with them as that is what happens when it IS my side yet I can see players and interact with them fine but the enemies are doing this BS.

Server-side fixes often don't manifest themselves in the form of a patch.

And not everything can be fixed as soon as it's reported. Fixes take time.

This^^, the most common complaint on any MMO is "Why haven't they fixed <Random Subject> Yet", have some patience people.

Then after a while you can complain just as bitterly with the warm comforting feeling that you gave them a chance. (mixture of sarcasm and truth)

@VampericKitteh‌ I feel you dog. Hang in there, a patch will drop tomorrow at 8am (NA.) If you still aren't satisfied by the end of this month, cancel your sub and wait a month.

The message a canceled sub sends is much louder than a forum post.
  • krypticslaughtr
@kewl if you cancel your sub you still don't get that money you paid for your second month back, its only the months after that that you can cancel and get a refund because nothing gets taken out of your account until the new month,.

Absolutely. Now if only there was some sort of process, some sort of exercise that could be gone through in an effort to identify problems before selling a box and then charging the masses a monthly sub for the privilege of testing the game.

We've had two patches already since early access started 1.01 and 1.02 both fixed a number of issues stopping people from progressing in the game.
Now they haven't fixed everything yet and tomorrow will be the first scheduled maintenance so we will see if a patch is pushed out with that.

You have to remember as well if they patched every issue as soon as it was ready the servers would be on and off all week which would just cause even more people to come on the forums and complain about not being able to play and how downtimes ruin their entire lives.

Hopefully we will see a patch tomorrow though and a nice list of fixes.

Considering this game has been in the works since 2007 and they had MULTIPLE betas and alphas at that, it could have been a LOT better. I mean hell how much did they make out of all us suckers and they are pulling crap with customer support, and working on an expansion for those that hit level 50, kind of stupid when most of use can't even play to level in the first place. Id rather the servers being on and off all week rather than once a month where they fix a handfull of issues each time instead of constant on going issues.

This game has had many of these problems since beta, and they were not fixed. The megaserver was trumpeted loudly and proudly, and now it's turning into the Titanic of gaming.

Because this game is pay-for-play, having so many game-breaking bugs (many carry-overs from beta), users have a right to be upset even if there is some belief that most of the bugs will get fixed eventually. We should not have to pay for what is really just an extended beta test.

Bethesda raked in $300m of profit from Oblivion -- a game that cost the same for the box and was free-to-play. Skyrim moved $450m worth in the two weeks. These games cover their costs and then some. Zenimax is the largest privately held company in video games, worth $1.2b. They're doing just fine.

@krypticslaughtr could it have been better? Yes much better, but this is the hand we were dealt and we either play with it and help ZOS with constructive threads and support in solving issues or we just walk away and play another game.

The OP's thread is just another (in many) threads posted in rage without really giving anything of use to ZOS or the community. Yes people are angry and upset because of bugs and issues, I myself have been frustrated to not have more than 60 bank slots for over a week now but I will stay around and help best I can so in a month from now I can enjoy playing a game with major issues fixed.

Exactly so in saying that they should have had enough funds from the start to hire proper programmers etc and actually get the issues sorted before release.
