Correct me if I'm reading wrong, but it sounds to me like you use multiple machines day to day, and the possibility struck me that you're logging into the forum with more than one IP address.

If you do that, the client will force you to re-verify via e-mail. If you can get in game properly once, try to avoid logging into the forums from any other IP. You can visit the forums of course, just don't log in.

I know this won't help you with a missing verification e-mail, but if you do get in, it might help you not have to go through this again.

Zenimax really needs to allow for multiple verified IP addresses. 3 or 4 ought to do it for most people I would think, or perhaps make it configurable in your account information - simply allow us to input a list of IPs.
  • hippy777b14a_ESO
Havredave> I'm pretty sure the forum security is separate from the account security. I also switch computers and networks regularly due to a very unique situation and if I hit the game I get prompted for the code, if I go to my web account I get hit up for a code. I do NOT get hit up for a code just for going ot the forum.

@hippy777, yes, that's possible. I had the problem happen after logging into the website from a different IP to purchase the Imperial upgrade, not for logging into the forum. If they ARE different, disregard what I said - however, if checking on tickets requires logging into the account, that still might be making a difference.

At least the thought is out there and might do some good. Maybe. :)

I can only log into the Web Account via my home system in which it is authorized from beta. I have to remote in to it. I can't access that account for the same reason I can't access my game account from my laptop. (Which I use 95% of the time since I travel 100% for work) because of this totally pathetic email verification crap.

All I can do is keep this thread active until SOMEONE notices me again. Trust me, I rather be doing other things with my time. If I did not love the game as much as I think I do, I would have refunded already! How long do you expect me to wait? I don't get much more loyal then this!

Seconds!? I HAVE BEEN WAITING AND TRYING FOR 10 DAYS!!!!
  • EliteProgrammerub17_ESO
Having to verify that my computer is authorized for my account login has happened to me twice. Both times I was able to log in, at the most, 2 or 3 minutes after I get the system message. Email arrives in my Gmail, I copy the access code, and paste into the text-box on the game's log-in screen.

Thanks, I understand how it is suppose to work. If it was working as intended I would not have tickets in, this post, or several others prior. It may just be a simple fix of trying some other email and moving on, but its taking 10 days and counting to get ANYTHING done.... I am happy it works for you though. Hope to join you someday.

Looks like no help and no game tonight. Two hours later and it seems they have fixed the work around. Way to go. Now I can't play at all I guess. Nights past I could at least get in about 60-90mins of trying and trying.

I have seen @ZOS_JessicaFolsom help out from time to time on other issues. Is their any chance at all you are around and could lend a hand. This issue is 10 days old. It may be a simple fix if I can actually get someones attention. Please?

Already Got my Imperial Edition Refunded, my whole gaming group did as of this afternoon as well. so i'd suggest you do the same, regardless of what the fanboi's think this is the only route to go, the more they are forced to refund money , the more the stakeholders are going to want heads to roll and to get the SDLC back on track concerning this product.

The Ironic Part is i NEVER got a access code e-mail for the past 7 days but i did get a e-mail and refund in less that 12 hours ..funny huh oh well best of luck to you and yours.
    Account- Canceled
Reason: Access Code Email Never Shows up, Customer Service Seems to think restarting my computer is going to fix it, General Ignorance, Lack of Proper Customer Service, Writing the 80$ off on my tax return as charity since i should have just handed my money to a street walker, at least she would have finished me off..

    Hi,
I'm getting my access code emails just fine and I use gmail so I want to verify:
    • Did you verify there is no typo in your email address linked on the account? If not:
    • 1) Click on Home at the top left.
    • 2) Select Account. It may make you login again.
    • 3) Once logged in, on the page displayed look for "Email Account". Is it typed correctly?
    • If it is accurate and you want to change it, check out this link: https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/7237/kw/email
    • Now, I am aware you're getting what seems like automated responses (or at least I think that's what you mean by "canned") but you'll have to keep trying. They are absolutely swamped at the moment. If you need to remote to your other machine to login from there then maybe try doing that until you can get a chat or email going back and forth with them. You receive their other emails just fine so you should be able to chat back and forth with them to get this resolved.

    Good luck!

That is exactly were I am at this point Sidney. Slow I expect. 10 days is frustrating. Although I don't think they should depend on email to do this by itself with no backup, I am willing to change my email if that is what it takes. I will hold out a little longer because I do really love this game, but my frustration will win at some point.

anytime your ip changes it will, depending on what type of connection you have to the internet, this may happen more frequently than others. @ambrynn_ESO

It's clearly not only the IP they look at since a lot of people with static IP gets asked for access codes more then once

Most internet providers only give Static IP to Business customers, so unless you are paying the Business price for your internet it is highly unlikely that you have a true static IP.

Majority of Cable internet owners believe they have a static when they do not. I am not going to insult your intelligence however as you may be paying for a static IP. In which case there may be a flaw with the system, I have only experienced the screen however when my IP has changed.

It's additionally about the PC config. I disabled HT and got the email auth popup. I re-enabled HT without actually entering my new email code, and was not asked for more auth.

Additionally, last week I was adding 2 new RAID controllers to my PC. This triggered a flurry of auth requests, despite no IP change.

I have a static IP on business fibre and the same IP address for over 2 years (I use DirectAccess VPN so this would fail if the IP changed ever), plus have a reservation set internally: It's not purely an IP based check.

With patch 1.0.2 we have taken steps to further strengthen game account security. Yesterday, we updated the temporary access code you are required to enter if you are trying to access the game from an untrusted device or via a new IP address. We are rolling out these changes in small waves—this began yesterday and will continue throughout the day.

Unless you were already asked to enter a new access code yesterday, when you log into the game today, you may get a prompt to enter a temporary access code. Please keep an eye on your inbox for the access code (don’t forget to check your spam folder) and enter it into the “Access Code” pop-up box.

Also, please be aware that these temporary access codes expire after 10 minutes. If you are accidentally blocked out of your account due to entering an expired access code, please wait 10 minutes and try again. You will be emailed a new access code.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to improve account security measures—this is something we will continue to do over time. If you encounter any issues with the access code or your account or get locked out of your account, please try the troubleshooting steps in this article and contact our Support Team for assistance if troubleshooting does not help.

    That is all.

Interesting, so this confirms the trust level of the device is, as I suspected via my own experienes, related to matters other than\additional to IP addressing.

That's a good multifactor system, akin to MSWA and other enterprise level 2FA solutions that build certs based upon machine config, but if the emails are not going out correctly, I can understand the frustration it will cause.

take note his fix was to have them change his email. The emails are going out correctly, however with every security system there is a huge margin for user error and less user friendly. Judging by his fix action, he may have his setting in his current email incorrect, or he typed his email incorrectly the first time.

I must say, I've had every authentication email within a minute everytime, and I have been changing my PC a lot lately, plus installed on my laptop to play from different locations. This has not been a problem for me at all.
