Unless you queue for vets as a healer or join trials wearing medium hundings with a resto and *** everyone else around.
These people exist.

I don't understand why people start talking about elitisme here,
And you still didn't told us why would you need that so badly. Plus you didn't seem to understand that knowing a player's gear will not tell you anything about the other important factors that defines the playstyle and the results of it.
maybe because when i see 1 player doing well in a group dungeon or in battleground, i want to understand what kinda of gear he's using, what kinda of enchant he's using, ...
Should i ask for an information and wait for an answer (maybe not what i'm looking for) when 2 clicks solve this ?
You wouldn't get enough information. You would know the sets, the enchants, the traits, but not the active and passive skills, the morphs, the food buff and the actual rotation. You would simply gimp yourself while trying to copy that gear. If you want to chase the meta so much, start doing your research in this forum, and on the theorycrafters' sites. If you don't know where to find that information... "you are not prepared"
- I only need gear,
- I don't want to check passives as i can take them all.
- for skills i can just check esologs (pve) or combat metric log to see what skill was used against me in pvp.
- The food is available under buffs (not many good food buffs btw as many are same with different names)
- the rotation can be deduced from 3 (only for pve)
and as i said i'm not an elite player, so this is not intended for kicking others because of their gear but help me get the info about the good gear to be used in pve but mostly in pvp
I'm just asking for transparency.
I'm starting to think this isn't the right game or the right forum to ask for this.

If the content is so easy or people are happy to carry you then yeah it doesnt matter. But in a group where they actually want everyone to contribute as effectively as everyone else (you know.... like MMOs should be) then it is relevant.
If people are not wearing something completely rediculous, showing they actually put minimal effort in to meeting the capabilities of thier chosen role then this feature would not be q problem.
Perhaps it could only be an option for viewing group members gear. If you are hiding your equipment from people you are grouping with then something is up there.

We’re using it, we know what gear you’re using, we know your DPS, and your skills, your rotation, how many times you die, how many times you rez allies, which targets you were focusing and which you ignore. Worst case there might be a chuckle between “elitist end gamers”, nobody is getting kicked from random groups because they don’t have BiS gear. I believe it’s actually good for build diversity to see others doing well in “non-meta” setups.
So, to summarize:
And the fact that many don’t know that we know speaks to the non-toxicity of the community.

I mean, you're checking combat metrics and esologs and that's cool and all, and we get it you can see people's stuff during those specific scenarios, but in more competitive stuff than a four-man dungeon like battlegrounds and Cyrodiil people work hard to theorycraft builds and don't want people just taking them. There's a meta in PvE and sharing is caring. In PvP, it goes the other way.

Because your transparency can considered invasive to another. People's desire for privacy can take many forms, have many different boundaries. Some people have a very low tolerance for having their stats revealed to the universe. Others just want to be left alione. Some people have had negative experiences with systems like this.
What you or others might find necessary or tolerable isn't shared by everyone.
Why do you even need this?
You can always ask if curious.
ESO is less about gear than rotation and understanding game mechanics anyways.
If you are in serious score pushing where this is actually relevant you know what your team mates are wearing anyways.
I would prefer bug fixes...

To repeat, every MMO I have played that has this option ALWAYS has a privacy option. So you can turn it off if you Don't want others to see your stuff, or you can show off your stuff to others without having to stop what you are doing to answer questions.
I don't see where it's the big deal some people are making it out to be.
IMHO

Guess you didn't play SWTOR, then. That game had no privacy protection and people did have issues with other players over inspections. There were periodic threads about it on the forums. I personally didn't have problems, but like everything else, you can't discount others' experiences. Considering how much of a fight it took to get Anon by default turned on for ESOlogs, I wouldn't be surprised if ZOS forgot basic opt out functionality.
Anyway, I'm not a fan of inspection options, but it's not personally a big issue for me. I'l gladly register my opinion against it but I'm not quitting if ZOS decides to implement it. I was mostly trying to get the OP to understand that there's a spectrum of opinions on the issue and potentially legitimate concerns as well.
If you look at ESO's population based on the survey last month, there's a surprisingly large population of primarily solo players. What was it, 44% playing exclusively or mostly solo? That's the largest percentage I've seen on any MMO forum, ever. I'm guessing that has something to do with the way the forum discussion is running. Lone wolves like to be left alone, or they like to have control over their infornation and interaction.

I agree, ESO is a single player mmo for new players. I've spent more than a year playing solo before getting into trials.

Pretty much the same thing. Don't you worry. ESO is joining them as one treadmill dungeon grinding game.
not the same thing, FF14 is 100 times better
- Better performance, no 40 fps with a 8700k and 1080ti i run max the game at 90 fps min everywhere
- No Hero Engine
- No *** LFG broken tool
- No lags
- Better pve dungeon, lore and areas
- Better raid (24 players)
- Better story quest
- 17 classes you can have on 1 single character
- and just Shadowbringer come out today
