I despise such "works", because I reckon their creators wouldn't find it fun themselves, having to run around chasing portals/items as the only activity during the quest line.
What *** me off is the excuse they give you that they cannot help, is they are too powerful, their presence will affect blah blah blah
Powerful my a**, what the whole psijic order story and Summerset story show me is how stupid and incompetent they are.
This is a much better skill line upgrade than say undaunted or mages... mages is the absolute worst

Mages is the exact same thing. You go around collecting lorebooks instead of breaches. The only difference is that mages guild allows you to do it in your own way deciding which areas to clear ( choose books near wayshrines for instance). And completing a specific collection of books gives you extra points. Plus you don't have to go to Artaeum every 5 minutes to advance the quest. The only thing psijic does better is the Augur commentary. I would love a Sheogorath or Stibbons comment everytime I pick a lorebook.
It's not as bad as the Mages/Fighters/Undaunted grind, to be honest. You get the chance to take a moment and explore the surroundings a bit more than usual. But since some people are only about rushing in this game, I can see how that would be a pain.
