Psijic quest line design is an abomination

    - Thieves Guild / Dark Brotherhood : you need a quest to advance the skill level by one (good !) BUT that quest can only be taken once you filled the progression bar by farming meaningless, annoying and boring AF assassination contracts or minor theft hat require you take a contract, cross half the world, hit the target, come back, get another one, rince, repeat. Not only do you run around even more than in the Psijiic quest line, but you can't even do it in one go.

    - Mages Guild : basically the same as Psijic, running around all the world to collect stuff. Without a quest line to advance it. There are quests, but they don't provide the slightest advancement.

    - Fighters Guild : either you don't care about those skills, which is fine, or you really, really want one, and then you either wait several months if you play normally or go farm dolmens, which is THE most boring, brainless, annoying thing this game has to offer.

    - Undaunted : Same as Fighters Guild, except with dungeons. Slightly less boring, especially if you are indeed into dungeons. Good luck with the loooooooooooong queues if you're a damage dealer without a regular group of friends, though.


    At the very least, Psijic quests can be taken one after the other without any kind of brainless farming to even enable access to the next one. And if you really need it, you can be done with it in a day. Good luck doing that with any of the lines I mentionned, except maybe Fighters Guild, and that is only if you can endure the mind-numbing effect of dolmens.

    Of course it’s awful. It was probably specially designed that way to encourage purchasing the skill line from the crown store.

    I'd rather do the Annual Psijic Order Scavenger Hunt than run mind-numbing circles around the Alikr Dolmens or run around looking for glowing overdue books.

    Never understood of all places why Alikr. Rivenspire or Deshaan are much better places with same easy access (maybe need to run 200m more), printing money in the process from purple Necropotence, Mother Sorrow and Plague Doctor.

    I prefer guild lines where you go off and grind for a while, and then there is something different to do, like a story quest. Like the Mages Guild and Fighters Guild are OK for me up to like level 5. And then the stories stop, and it just becomes a grind for me. For the all guild quest lines, I would prefer if the story quests that break them up were scattered evenly across the levels. If I were going to change the way the guild line quests work in ESO, I would make it so that the ones that have stories (I'm looking at you, Fighters and Mages) have the final story when you have achieved the highest level in the guild skill line.

    The wayshrines are really close for maximum time-effectiveness when grinding with an XP scroll, which is why there's always a group of leveling toons running the Alikr dolmens. Deshaan and Rivenspire don't have consistent farming groups to join because what's the point of farming good sets on a leveling toon?
