well... Not openly...
Concerning the RPG part of MMORPG, what if the Writers provided a selection of Romanceable NPCs with new lines of Dialogue and even questlines that progress the relationship. A new game mechanic that allows the vestige to bond with an NPC, complete a personal story questline, and unlock special options such as making them a version of the Brotherhood Bequeather, or a special "Assistant" you can place in your house.
We already have lines of dialogue where the Vestige flirts, heavily, with Naryu. Thats a start.

When they said the game was mature, they should have kept it that way and made the parents account for their children playing it. And if I had to pick someone, it would be that rogue Jakarn. Ah yes, Steve Blum. Love that man, love that voice.
And The Lusty Argonian Maid ain't got nothin' on The Real Barenziah. Actually, I think The Real Barenziah is far more x-rated. At any rate, Elder Scrolls has always had a mature element and ESO brands the game mature. They should stick with that. Parents need to account for their kids but honestly a 12 year old with computer access and who has started to hit puberty has probably seen far worse than anything Elder Scrolls can throw at him or her.
Oh gods, The Real Barenziah is a doozy. It far surpasses Lusty Argonian Maid. I mean, Dunmer are known for being promiscuous, so it's not like what happened surprised anyone there, but it definitely shocks the reader.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JYfphqwmpyU This thread makes me sad... They're not real people, they can't love you back! And coding an NPC to love you is some next level narcissism. Imagine if they were real people and had no choice in the matter, that's called an arranged marriage. A love not of their own volition is not worth having bc it's not love, it's ownership. I may be getting carried away but it's not this particular idea I dislike but this is not a Mindset that should be facilitated in anticipation of AI's becoming common in the future. Whether they are human or not, a being that has achieved sentience, that can think and feel their own thoughts and emotions should not be subject to subjugation. The rule of love is that it starts and ends with Consent.
Have none of you seen West World!?
Y'all need to branch out and make some friends.
I'd suggest finding someone in real life instead.

Eh, you probably don't want to know how many tries it took me. Besides the three marriages, I estimate at least another 100 men. Some of them short term, some longer.
So yeah. 43 years, considering. I don't expect to make 50, as he's not likely to live that long. Health issues.... of various kinds. Still, I don't regret ONE THING about my life. Not one thing. Regrets are.... the dark side. Don't go there....
And goddesses preserve me from "relationships" in games. *shudder*

Hmm. Was that someone from ME?
Sylvermynx wrote: »@jainiadral - great post. Misses me for the most part as I've never once in any game had any interest in romancing anything.... male female or whatever.
This is because I'm not interested in romance. I'm VERY long time married (43 years this time.... if I add in the other two... WELL over 50 years of my life). Thing is, I'm not romantic, so when games "go there" I get turned off big time. ESO seems to me to be perfect: If I don't "see' it, I don't have to deal with it.
I really dislike games which push that sort of interaction on me, and I'm very thankful that ESO does not.

For several gameplay reasons (vows of Mara for example) it would be weird if player could make a NPC her/his lover/spouse. But a short optional romance imbedded into the plot might work, especially with characters like Jakarn (foremost), Darien Gautier, Razum'Da and I guess Naryu Virian too. I mean most of the notable characters we meet aren't ones to stick around anyway. Apart from that the story makes us the typical Western hero traveler who rides into the sunset in the end.
