Magicka Sorc vs DK Reflective Scales

Well, all I know is, if you’re a DK, don’t get caught out in the open against a magSorc. Pretty much just a pin cushion unless you have the room for a gap closer on your bar or can dodge roll and sprint to the nearest LOS area.

Well you don’t know much. This patch wings/SnB and you’re good...unless you’re squishy trash hehehehe.

Im going to have to agree with this big time. Wings are extremely viable in taking a lot of punishment now. The only downside is bar space. My tanky DK became even more tanky because people complained DK's were too tanky.

Amen...amen. It’s a BUFF! I can survive their burst. Then what. Good Mag Sorcs ease in take a lil damage streak away. GREAT Mag Sorcs streak away, kite and try to keep fighting.

Bad Mag Sorcs rush in because your health bar dipped. Watch a cauterize or embers or even a powerlash get ya back to a hundred then die trying to brawl melee with a MagDk. Eat this Leap without a shield lol. Rez out thanks for coming.

If you just started playing Mag Sorc because everybody is rolling one because you THINK wings got a nerf...well...

So let me get this straight. In pvp, it’s a buff to take half damage, status effects and even a stun instead of reflecting it back to to your opponent, stunning them and taking no damage..? Nice logic there.

You run defensive stance and Wings. You get 50% mitigation from spells..all spells, reflect, block cost reduction both from the skill being slotted and S&B passives, and that defensive stance is cheap, also due to passives. And the entire time, i'll be generating ultimate because I build for that on my Dragonknight.

So you're gonna leap a magsorc for a whopping 2k damage after he soaked all your mag and stam so you're basically a free target now?

People calling it a buff are not playing DKs.

I've played both a mDK, sDK and DK tank since 2014. I keep DB on my 2H bar and Corrosive or S&B ult on my back bar when I need to be extra tanky. It sustains well with Battle Roar and pots. DK ultigen is an old old build but it still works well for me, and is reliable. The old wings were great. I still have my reflect, but the new wings are still nice when you're taking a ton of aggro.

Yes, I would prefer the old wings. I used them quite a bit. The new wings are not useless, and people are STILL complaining about them.

The only real nerf are the fact that extra effects and cc go through wings. The 50% damage reduction is noticeable, lasts the full 6s, and applies to more than just projectiles.

Dragon Fire Scale is even better for returning damage now. It scales off your stats, so building damage makes it hit hard. It also does every .5s. I've sent more damage back with 2 DFS fireballs than most la-skill weaves in the past. I've killed quite a few sorcs and bow users with it.

That’s only on FOUR projectiles in the past. Now it’s ALL PROJECTILES, so chances are wings is actually UP for the duration.

Using SnB it’s like 91% mitigation with wings up so I’m taking 9% of someone’s full burst. I’ll eat that damage. I’ll take a stun (some of which can be blocked) or a cc AND the immunity AT RANGE.

Now, truth be told, the new wings is noticeable in PvE some places with a ton of NPC bowtards. You have to be mindful of them a bit more. In PvP tho...

Look, the new wings with SnB is all right. The change to wings is NOT a nerf in the sense of a MagDk being a free kill vs a Mag Sorc or a Magblade at ALL like a lot of folks rolling fresh Mag Sorcs or fresh NB’s rushing into melee range thinking they can brawl with a MagDk lol.
