Unable to pass Character Screen - An error occurred please try again later - EU/US

    People with problems logging in or unable to pass character screen, the issue is not with your PC or with your ISP, has nothing to do with addons or corrupted files. As a lot of people have pointed out, the ONLY game/app with this issue is this one, WOW, for example, never ever had even close to this.

    Anyway, using a VPN, at least for me and a lot more people in other forums, solves the problem. This lead me to think that this is an attempt to reduce the lag by shadowbanning non US players, as you guys might seem in other forum posts, the majority of players with this kind of issue are non US players.

    If that is the case, I need at least a word from Zenimax since I paid for the game and even though I'm not am US player, I'm sure I have rights to have a refund.

    @ZOS_BillE Thanks for the finally getting some update from you regarding the issues but it sill keeps me really worried when all will be really fixed cause it is not relating one actual issues that loads of players have right now!

    And I am 100% on the side of @Rackiera of what the's saying! He's totally right that what you're posting isn't any relief nor telling us the current issues will be fixed ASAP!

    Did you by any chance delete the intro video files?
    I had this exact issue some months ago and couldn't for the life of me figure out why. Turns out it was because I had deleted the intro videos. I had a backup of them, so I just put them back into the default folder and then the problem was solved.

    I think this happens because it does a check to see if any files are missing when applying an update. It *should* just download a new copy of the missing files, but apparently in my case it didn't, hence the error message.

    EDIT: Some troubleshooting steps worth trying:

    NOTE; the depot.version file might be located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\depot instead. If so, delete it from there and run the launcher again.

    @CaptainKuijt Ty for the infos. i just had to restart the launcher and it worked.

    But @ZOS_BillE i got again the same issue how posted here widely in the forum and how @Rackiera as well explained in his forum post.

    I actually was able to get into the game without changing anything on my side on Tuesday but then i tried yesterday evening again the same issue as usual!

    Can someone at ZOS tell me when they will finally fix the issues.

    Aaaaaand the problem is back again. Looks like it's an issue with connecting to the login servers. Can't access EU, NA or PTS

    I a'm really seriously having it enough! not that yoiu're that blazee to ask 80 quit for the CE but no there is as well ESO plus but let me tell you my issue again I CAN'T GET PASSED CHARACTER SCREEN AGAIN i was just able to do so on 4th of june!!!

    Honestly you should get/have a look at BT Entertainment / FFXIV Square-Enix!

    YOU WILL BE LOOSING A LOT DURING THE NEXT MONTH!! AND MOST OF THE PEOPLES WILL GO BACK TO THE STABLE AND WELL MODDED mmo'S AND Youll be sitting there in debth! there is why i don?t get your position cause the people make that you exist and it really is the trend that you will go down if you don't finally fix your game!!

    Appears to me the problem lies with EOS's login server. I can reach the game server but not any of the elderscrollsonline.com sites. I noticed the problem last night around 5 pm PDT when I tried to login. It still persists this morning at 7 am. Here are traces to the the two servers.
