We already have lines of dialogue where the Vestige flirts, heavily, with Naryu. Thats a start.

Star Wars The Old Republic does this.

It would be nice if this game were to adopt a more interactive approach to their in-game characters. Not just socially, but it would also be cool if you could fight with them as well. This one area (and probably the only area) that SWTOR is superior to most other games out there.

Not entering the whole discussion, really, but I just peeked at the thread and found this, so I wanted to remark - no, I don't think we have 12 yr olds playing this game, not unless they lied about their age anyway. Game TOS prohibits underage players from playing it.

we don't have many 12 year olds because most 12 year olds dont like games like this. they're far more statistically likely to be playing something like minecraft or fortnite or mobas or shooters.

I'd love to see it, doubt it would happen. We have 12 yr olds that play this game. They don't even want The Lusty Argonian Maid excerpts on the forums. When they said the game was mature, they should have kept it that way and made the parents account for their children playing it. And if I had to pick someone, it would be that rogue Jakarn. Ah yes, Steve Blum. Love that man, love that voice.

I've seen plenty of, and been in a few, guilds that bill themselves as family friendly cause they have minors playing, so there's probably more than you'd think.

Just musing too: has anyone read YA fiction recently? We've got global scale catastrophes, lots of death and dismemberment, twisted and warped notions of consent between "love interests," and lots of glorious suicide "victories." ESO's pretty tame compared to the kid's section at Barnes & Noble lately :D

You say it like these themes are new to fiction meant for young adults but theyre literally hundreds of years old. Young people really can handle much more than people give them credit for.

I'd say best will be that one can marry their alts this way everyone will have their unique and make them place able at house so when a player visits his/her house he'll get lover bonus like in skyrim maybe 10% boost to xp for 10 mins something like that just like Ayleid Wells.

This would be great, especially if we could make it involve cross-server alts. Perhaps even an alt companion system!

I'd also like it to be similar to a friends-romance-engaged-married progression, where you get to build your characters, personality-wise, and gain affinity/influence/affection etc based on actions performed ingame, be they in general or in dialogue with NPCs.

I'd love this, but SWTOR is much more story focused, our characters have voices and personalities. in here we're like a blank state. and romances where the character doesn't say anything and doesn't have any cinematics, becomes just random fluffy dialogue from certain npc's.
I'd prefer if they did it the right way and add more cinematics to the game in general and for this option too.

LOL, they're not new. Look at how grisly nursery rhymes and fairy tales are at their origin. Just saying the flap over protecting the little tweens is misguided. My favorite stuff to read when I was that age was horror: Stephen King, Dean Koontz. Loved apocolyptic fiction the most: Swan Song, The Stand.

ESO's so amazingly tame compared to what I used to read as a kid. I think the people who need the most protection are adults :D I have so much less stomach for that stuff these days than I did when I was a tyke.

As someone who's been married nearly 43 years, I have all the relationship I need and then some. Now, I don't ever do game relationships as I just don't find it interesting, fun, or involving - but of course as long as it was totally optional I wouldn't care if it was added.

Most other games have stuff like that; I can't remember about WoW and RIFT (only other MMOs I've played) but nearly every single player game has gone there.

    Companion(ship)? Yes
    Relation(ship)? Gray area

But given how the AI currently is for pets... an NPC partner would just add more to the grief if not done right, as well does morality come into play now? Are they an already existing game NPC character? If not, What if your "new" NPC is goody-two-shoes and you're a stab-stab-klepto? Can you sway them to your moral thinking (in game) or are you stuck with what you got?

Not including, would/could you add personalities and costumes / outfits to them? Would they need gear to help you fit, or a glorified pack mule on two legs? or they just a House / Base Placement with a basic appearance?

Will/should they offer unique quests, achievements?
Do they give unique commentary or are they pseudo silent unless spoken to?

Would/should they have their own class / specs or they baked into a single basic role?

How about you give the players the option to either pursue an already existing NPC or create an original NPC on your own whom you rescue as they are a captive in Cold Harbor or a prison somewhere on Nirn. Add some quests where you get to know them and then after they move into your house you get a daily quest where the reward is a buff of some sort. Some potential buffs could be increased experience, health, gold found, better stuff from chests, etc.

Only 1 mod from top30 (5th place) maybe considered nude.

Though I agree about alts, if not for "romance" sake but simply for immersion will make housing way more alive and popular.

Tbh, I think adding some sort of romantic relationship the Vestige could engage in would bring enormous depth and immersion to the game. And, no, it's not a replacement for IRL relationships any more than reading a wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am thriller or romance novel is. It's a way to add dimensionality to your personal Vestige and to the NPCs around him/her.

Or, hell, give your Vestige a chance to develop deeper friendships with NPCs. SWTOR and Bioware in general have been stellar at weaving personal relationships into larger storylines. I find it makes me care more about the main story--like my characters have a real stake in the outcome. That sense of urgency is missing in this game for me.

Anyway, I've been married for 15 years, and I've enjoyed romances in RPGs of various stripes. They're story to be explored just like quests or dungeons or lorebooks. I think ZOS' writers have the chops to come up with something incredible if they have the desire or are given the space to do it. The single most romantic video game quest I've ever played was the flower quest for those two Bosmer in Greenshade.

I've always enjoyed having an npc of my own in games with that feature. In FFXI I spent a lot of time working with my companion npc and in Skyrim my followers and "family" were fun, so although anything very heavy on the romance would put me off (I prefer a platonic companion npc) I think it would be a good addition.
