It would be nice if they introduced Bosmers (Wood Elves). They currently is a playable race that claims its a Wood Elf, but the racials are closer to a Falmer.

We have to think of the practicality of Armor application in the case of Minotaur, perhaps a polymorph would make more sense. I think an easy way to satisfy the Thirst for Diversity, Dithirsity, if you will, would be Skins. I would love to see a skin that disguises Kahjiit as Lilmothiit, Fox with a fluffy tail. And one that makes Wood elves look like Deer with a little cotton tail... I also just feel the need to say I am NOT a furry after that LOL but I'm still waiting on one of those Water Nymphs to be made a Polymorph.

Some guy suggested automaton, that's actually interesting!

I would like a small expansion into Akavir and get to play a Tsaesci.

Otherwise, there could be an expansion into frozen ruins of Skyrim where a small colony of snow elves would've been discovered. I'll let the lore master and scriptwriter figure out how they were able to avoid the degeneration process into Falmers.

Without having to go into new races, our current races could gain access to their respective ancestor race passives. The Nedes, Aldmer for example.

Bretons could access Aldmer (not Altmer) passives to focus on magicka or Nedes to focus on stam...

All sort of things could be done with a concept like this.

Yes, indeed I think it is. But... been there, posted that:

    ;)

As I said there, that would be iffy as it'd clip through half the doorways and some dungeon passages...
    EdoKeledus wrote: »
    Maormer or Tsaesci.
Maormer would be my first choice. I mean... the race is in the game, they have two seperate crafting styles, and they could easily be done like a lightning-loving mer race akin to the fire-loving dunmer... I could see them happen with very, very little effort on ZOS part, an ideal case for "testing the waters" to see how many people would actually pay crowns for a new race...
    Tryxus wrote: »
    Reachmen and Imga
All possible (if they decide reachmen are a seperate race and not just barbaric bretons - it is likely they will just be considered bretons, just like ashlanders are no seperate race from the standard dunmer... but... that is up to ZOS in the final word.)
Imga are there, and should be in valenwood... but since they are not... they might have taken a side trip with falinesti, which would make a neat DLC sometime, yes?
    Kurat wrote: »
    Goblins or Falmers
Gobbos might be doable. Iffy, and likely legally in trouble (double bounty for every criminal act? Perhaps even random "harassment" bounty just for being gobbos???)

Falmer... less so. Much less so. I mean... blind, and monstrous... and blind... did I mention them being blind? Outside their "homefield advantage" caves, they would seem to be quite ineffective as player race because of the miss chance to all their attacks due to the blind thing...
Dremora. I want to play a demon. Think about it, cool skins, awesome horns, wicked looking faces. Yeah, Dremora.
Completely impossible with the ESO storyline.
Any dremora PC would be permanently "kill on sight" by all guards, and barred from interacting with most vendors, taking up quests (because which kind of quest giver would trust a frigging -demon- to actually help them???) or pretty much anything without a sorceror there to hold their leash...

As much as I would have to agree that it'd be "cool".
It just would not fit with ESO themes. But... if they ever made a TES game around that framework... play as one of the daedric races, dremora, skaafin, mazken, spiderkith, xivkyn, whatever... follow your daedric prince, quest through daedric planes and foray forth into the mundus... avert a dire threat to all daedra while fighting both the beasts of the land and thge morrtal inhabitants, with faceing "adventurer parties" as "bossfights"...
...I'd LOVE to play that! (especially if they made it a purely "18+" game and didn't pull any punches with the nastyness and naughtyness daedra are known to indulge in)
    But it -definitely- ain't ESO...
    theyancey wrote: »
    Dwermer most likely.
All gone and not coming back in the scope of ESO.
At best we might someday get a "flashback" quest to the glory days of dwemer civilization...
The prblem with using the maomer is that they arent really a race, they are just outcast of the highelves...
    ...except that is wrong.
Both maormer and altmer have a common ancestor race with the aldmer, of which the maormer were outcasts. But that is a couple millenia in the past, and by the time of ESO... they are as much a different race from the high elves as the dunmer.
    Snow Elves for the win
You mean, win for what? Win for "first elven race wiped out on the continent of tamriel"? Because they were done in by the atmorans and nedes -thousands- of years before the time of ESO, centuries before the battle of red mountain, and so long ago that you will be hard pressed to even find -ruins- of their civilization in skyrim! A few surving NPCs may still be in hiding (we know they are, we met them in TES-V:Skyrim), but that's about it.
    So, nah, flashback only.
Some guy suggested automaton, that's actually interesting!
Not exactly a race... and not exactly something I would expect to see accepted as "race" across tamriel. (For all that I have a "Clockwork Kitty" alt following a premise much like that)
If they ever made this, it would be a world skill line like werewolf or vampire, with an initiation quest where you transfer your soul into a clockwork body (there is one such quest for NPCs in CWC, just sayin)...
...but it would be far too iffy with a great many things, so I doubt they would ever go there. Not in ESO anyhow, perhaps in a far future TES game set in the fifth or sixth era, when the secrets of the dwemer have become common knowledge... (oh, my... a "steampunk" TES game??? Sign Me Up!!!)

Not all playable races have to be a complete race that has placement in tamriel as a society for it to be explainable. As not all dremora are considered evil in lore. True there is the law but that can still be easily explained. Automoton could be explained as remnants of the past that have been discovered or a city with some still living there underground for years. The addition of a new race is not something that would damage or hurt the game if zos completes it in a manner that keeps with lore and or adds a small aspect to explain it.

Or Alfiq that speak, Bosmer that aren't stealthy, Argonians that talk about being immune to poison but really aren't.... since when has preexisting lore stopped them from rewriting history? Maybe wood elves are actually descendants of Vulcans and the Vulcans can come back from when they colonized Tamriel thousands of years ago and teach them phaser technology, mind melding, nerve compression, and how to be sneaky. They could totally write that into the script. Maybe have Klingons, too.

So what would be their stories be?

Maormer, distrusted by everyone when they first meet you. And any other Maormer you meet calls you a traitor.

Dremora, which Daedric Prince do you serve if any, and do the guards attack you on sight?

Nercomancers will have company running from guards

Maormer are in the game but they just would not work for an AD character. While an AD Breton might be looked at with some suspicion a Maormer would be attacked pretty much on sight and would never be allowed anywhere near Ayrenn. In fact Raz would have probably left you to drown in the ocean in the first place.

I know a lot of people aren't fans of more classes but I do like the Dragonknight, its my fav <3 , and I would be interested in seeing another class or classes based on different cultures. A Tempest class based off the Maormer that has Air, Serpent and Water skill lines. Could be fun and unique enough from the Sorc.

Yeah, that would be iffy. As much as an akaviri race for EP, huh?
But if you think about it... you -can- play a breton, orc or redguard in EP while your fellow bretons, orcs and redguards are busy slaughtering civilians left and right in the bleakrock - bal foyen - stonefalls invasion questline... and noone bats an eye if you play an altmer, bosmer or khajiit while playing through shadowfen either... or an orc during the malabel tor questlines... or an imperial in reapers march or bangkorai...
...or for that matter, a frigging -vampire- everywhere!!
So, all in all... its not -that- much of a thing, right?

And yeah. I personally would have -loved- it if they had added "build trust" miniquests for non-alliance characters only! Heck, sometimes even for alliance characters (like dunmer needing them in shadowfen only, argonians needing them in stonefalls and deshaan only, and non-alliance races needing them in every region...) And maybe... also take double bounty for every criminal act, just to show a bit of prejudice among the guard?
    Alas...not how it went.

Yes yes you always respond with this rubbish but Bretons, Altmer, Nords and all the others were part of the SAME empire and living, working, trading etc in each other cities long before the empire fell and the 3 banners war started. This is 100% not the case for Altmer and Maormer. On the UESP Maormer lore page is states

"The Maormer were relentless in their drive to conquer Summerset, and there is scarcely a year throughout the First or Second Eras when they did not ravage the coastlines of the Altmer.[3]"

So no it is not the same thing what so ever. Go play Kenarthi's Roost, Auridon and Summerset again and pay attention to the story in ESO. It will help end your confusion about the Altmer/ Maomer relationship in the 2nd era. Also for funsies go read the note upstairs in the Koeglin Village inn.

True, not the same thing at all.
But... if you were to pay a little more attention, you would notice some things as well.
Like... the maormer actually living quite peacefully with the khajiit on Kenarthi's Roost before the altmer and their dominion poke their noses in, and only at that point the sea elves get all hostile and conquer-y driven by the fear that their hated cousins could take over.
Like... a altmer who mentions possibly having maormer blood finding a tragic end at a fishing place in greenshade...
Like... veiled heritage altmer actually conspiring with maormer towards a common goal (of pointy-eared supermacy and fall of the dominion)
Like... a "romeo and juliet" style romance beteen a altmer and a maormer making the background of a quest in summerset... (always wondered why the two of them don't turn their backs on their respective people and elope to another alliance, living there in peace and together instead of putting up with that racist crap - but I guess I just am not quite of that mindset to truly understand how some people look at the race instead of the person...)

Yeah, as a race, they hate each other. Very, very much so.
But then, so do many, many other races. The orcs still hate the bretons for the whole orsinium thing, and even entered into an alliance with them! The argonians still hate dunmer slavers, yet entered into the pact despite that. Et cetera.
Oh, and almost everyone hates vampires and necromancers. ;)
Says little about -individuals-, and since a lot of the other hatrets are not taken into account by the game... why should this one preclude the possibility?

Yes, it would be less likely then, say, a breton fighting for the pact, or a orc for the dominion, or an kittycat for the covenant. So? Make the option double the price in the crown store then!

And its not like "One heroic character from a hated race" cliché is unknown in fantasy... Drizzt Do'Urden, anyone? The same shtick could work for a maormer character exiled to live among the groundwalkers, and become an unlikely hero... and even razum-dar might interrogate an swept up maormer instead of just slitting their throat, and upon realizing they are an exile, mentally rub his paws thinking of how he could use that one as double agent... it is not -that- unlikely a tale, right?

    ...

Although, personally I think it -would- be fun to have some extra race options with an "one-alliance lockout"!
Like... you can pay crowns to play a maormer... but NOT for AD. Or you can play an akaviri race... but NOT for EP. Or you might play a goobbo... but NOT for DC. etc.
