Both types of Falmer and the Lilmothiit.

Maormer, Reachmen and Kyn as playable races would also be nice.

The 'traditional playable races' have only been that way since Morrowind, Orcs and Imperials didn't exist before then, and other races were very different before that, and the lore concerning races has changed with each successive game, so saying "No new races, it only makes sense to have JUST THESE because its always been this way" isn't true. They've already expanded on the canon of races and things only mentioned or hinted at in older games by showing us things like Argonian sex changing and the different furstocks. Other old lore also consists of stuff like "There are intelligent minotaurs who are sworn to fight for the empire". It's completely friendly, just because it hasn't been seen before doesn't mean they can't do it now.

I like the fact ESO is kind of a dumping ground for doing new, cool stuff with the lore that Bethesda are too much of cowards to do. New races would be novel and I'm on board with it and I would pay sick race change bucks to have a minotaur warden tank.

Imga could be reasonable although I believe they are rare and a dying race more or less (albeit a slowly dying one since presumably they still exist by the era of Skyrim).

Maormer are possible though they represent a foreign race known for raiding pretty much everyone on the coasts from Hammerfell to Morrowind so they aren't particularly well liked.

Akaviri races are to some extent possible though due to rarity are somewhat unreasonable as player characters. It would be like playing as Marco Polo in a world where the Mongols rule china. It is much more reasonable to see an Indian person in this world than it would be to see a merchant from Venice. In keeping with theme therefore it is pretty unreasonable to expect them to allow Tang Mo or Ka'po'tun as playable races. It isn't as though these aren't cool races (they are) but they also have counterparts in the realm of Tamriel, namely the Imga and Khajiit. This is why I suggest Imga as the most REASONABLE race for them to make playable. I do believe it COULD be possible for them to make an Akavir expansion though I find it highly improbable given the scope and size that such an expansion would bring particularly when they have quite a few void realms they can discover and still have about 40% or more of the map of Tamriel undiscovered. As for the Kamal and Tsaesci these are most definitely NPC type races and the human Akaviri bloodline does exist in Tamriel in the form of Imperials (who have some of that bloodline mixed in. The same is true with Imperials and Kothringi as well).

I am personally not sure why people want to play as a Daedra. While such half-daedra creatures do exist in the series like Umaril and possibly a certain character in ESO I do not think this represents something that would fit well with theme. I know Minotaurs have been suggested as well and while I actually like the idea of sentient minotaurs in the series I do believe it is quite probable that something occurred which drove them mad. The Minotaurs are a cursed race just as much as the Ogres are. Were they to allow Minotaurs as playable characters I would argue they should allow goblins and ogres as well and quite possibly giants. I disagree with this suggestion and would recommend such creatures remain in the realm of NPC's purely for the sake of keeping some semblance of theme in tact.

races of the other continent akavir. as far as we know they have a human race a snake race and a tiger like race

To be more specific there are the Tsaesci, described as vampire snakes and a proud warrior race. Everything we've seen from them so far seems to be inspired by Japanese stuff. Oh they really hate Dragons.
Then there are the Tiger like Ka'Po'Tun, having build an empire ruled by the Tiger Dragon. That dude is their emperor who managed to ascend into dragonhood. All that Tiger and (immortal) Dragon Emperor stuff raises a certain association in me. Do they like clay soldiers and big walls?
Over the other two we know even less. The Tang Mo are relatively peaceful island dwelling monkey people and the Kamal are described as snow demons freezing in winter and invading the others every summer. The latter were responsible for the last invasion.

    1) Adding a new race doesn't cause balancing issues like adding a new class does, and
    2) There are other races in the lore, they just aren't as common on Tamriel as they are on the rest of Nirn.
    3) We already have mounts that completely destroy the lore, so ....

Not sure how it would kill the game.

Well.... the dragonborn in this era is Tiber Septim as stated previously. Now, Arngeir does say "the only one we know of in this era" to the dragonborn in Skyrim, so that does intimate the possibility that there are others.

However. If I want to mess with the dragonborn, I'll just go play Skyrim with LotD thanks. Yes, I realize the statement was about a skill line or class. Still, not interested.

In fact, I'm not really interested in any of the proposed races. Ten's enough. I'd rather see other things.... besides a class I would never play....

Nah. I think people are so used to the ten races (I am), any new addition would feel... off. Unfitting. Squeezed in. And that just for a racial? Which will be boring to be in line with the other races? Nah. Give us classes instead!

What class would stick with lore and still work

Any, really. Classes as such are more of a product of their time. Very apparent with the schools of magic that fluctuate constantly. First brief thoughts that come to mind... We don't have a true spellsword. Sword and magic (rune). A vampire lord class. An alterationalist, influencing space and time. A dedicated crossbow user, maybe with increased evasion abilities. The Elder Scrolls universe really gives you a lot of material to work with.

I'd love to see the Lilmothiit (foxish race), Maormer (sea elves) and/or Snow Elves. I know it's unlikely though for any of them. As I understand it, the Lilmothiit were wiped out by the Knahaten Flu, Snow Elves were murdered and what survivors there were became Falmer, and Maromer.. Well there are actually Maromer in ESO so I'm not sure why we wouldn't be able to play them but I'd settle for getting a sea elf skin in the crown store.

Minotaur are going to be a problem due to the size. Sure, we have minotaur motif - but it's scaled to "normal PC size". Minotaur are huge - so unless they scale them down for normal player race size, it's just going to be an issue.

And - females? I can't recall I've ever seen a female minotaur in TES/ESO. Sure they can create them, but I also don't remember I've ever run across any lore about them.... though that might just be me missing something, or too many years under the bridges or something!

Totally appreciated your post. I had no clue what a Imga was, went to look it up and apparently they disappeared from Valenwood a year before ESO. Learned something new today haha.

If people really want new races, would they be satisfied with skins, e.g. a Moarmer skin they could apply to an Altmer and be satisfied? That way ZOS don't have to deal with balancing new racials or keep creeping on the number of characters people are compelled to make outside of any more added classes.

    Goblins or Falmers

Rename the current Bosmer to Falmer and introduce a true, stealthy wood elf race. Call it Children of Y'ffre, or something.

If they really want to fabricate some new lore, dog-men are pretty popular in fantasy stories. Gnolls, Drolvarg, and the like. People would probably like playing bipedals with different types of canine heads. Or even humanize the current werewolf, and make it a playable race. Change the lore to where dog people came down to Tamriel in a spaceship from another planet, settled down in a previously undiscovered land mass east of Morrowind.

I don't know of any ESO race that isn't alraedy available in the game that would be interesting, and/or practical.

    I vote no.

Besides, if ZOS made a new race, it would be paid for, and if it is paid for ZOS are so aware of pay to win that it would be shite. The Imperial race was behind a pay wall and up until now it is has been garbage. It is not bad now, but Nord out tanks Imperial, Orc / Redguard out stamDPS's Imperial.

It either has to be unremarkable for it to not be pay to win, or it has to be great and people will cry pay to win. I think ZOS has enough balance issues with the present 10 they manage, they have resorted to making hybrid races which, while nice, is probably a sign that there is not much more in the way of unique race skills they can play with, else they would do it to the hybrid races.

You know what would be awesome? If we had Wood elves as a playable race. Since right now, we don't.
Taking stealth away from the Bosmer is like taking magic away from the Altmer, making Nords allergic to mead, or making Orcs pretty.
