I made a magicka warden when it came out knowing it was the worst class in the game. I had hope that ZOS would buff them one day.

2 years later and not a single buff. But I still play it because I enjoy the archetype.

While I am looking forward to trying out Necromancer, it won't be the end of the world if it isn't what I was hoping it to be as I'm still relatively new to the game as a whole and I still have Nightblade that will appeal to that "edgey" part of me.

I will say though that I can understand if someone wanted to quit were that the case (especially if they've been playing longer) as I'd like to assume Necromancer is a popular class design.

The necromancer class is not going to be perfect on release, there going to go through balance changes for awhile.

Started playing before they even mentioned there being a necromancer class for the game, not going to stop using my current characters just because they add another class, that may or may not live up to my expectations.

That's what happened with my Wardens, they were nerfed at launch so I just used the first 6 months to level undaunted and riding levels so that it was ready to go once people figured out what the best way to use it.

Anymore, the only play my wardens get is crafting writs.

I've got little desire to play a necro.

I'm quite vexxed that my stamblades have been nerfed, [along with nerfs to other player's builds], just so that the necro can be the new 'flavor of the season'.

Why would I quit because one class is bad? (NOt saying the Necromancer is bad, looking forward to it, but the Poll kinda says "when the necromancer doesnt save it by being awesome, is the game even worth playing?")

Of course I will keep playing! I have my fun characters, and I am here for the stories (and the character dressup) anyhow.

In fact, for me I will be playing -despite- necromancers, which will greatly vex me for having to do yet more alts to test-drive the new classiness... and pray to all the divines and any daedra who might listen that they never ever add another new class, but give us something that can be refiutted to -any- character, no matter if newly created of played since launch.

Why would I stop playing because of a single character?

(Also, I don't play for "max DPS", I just play. Warden is one of my current most-played characters, because I enjoy it. My other two 'most played' characters are a Magplar and a PvE Stamblade with a lousy build.)

...additionally, I'm not getting Elsewhere yet; aaaand I doubt I'd play a Necro to start with. I just don't understand the obsession some people have with that class.

I fully expect to play it for a month then go back to better balanced classes. Necromancer needs another 2-3 patch cycles—especially the magicka variant. It’s just not ready.

I'm already just doing my daily writs most of my play time

Necromancer implementation is disappointment for me, so in the worst case they will be just more characters who can do daily writs in my crew

Necromancer has always been one of my favorite classes, and when available I usually main them. It was my main class all through Diablo and even if it turns out to be kinda bad in ESO it will still likely be my main just because I enjoy the theme and aesthetic of the class so much.

Although I have a clearly defined main, I ultimately play the game, not just a class.

Seems silly to quit the game because a certain class doesn't work out like you expect.

I'm not even trying a necromancer. I'm not a fan of dead things and I'll be seeing them everywhere anyway, no need to add to the stench myself.

I'm using my new slot(s) to try out more permutations of other classes I haven't tried yet, like a sorc tank and a stamblade.
