Especially with being able to pass gear on to alts. Something might drop for another class I play, and I might want to keep that drop. Don't need the saltiness squabbling over gear.

It won’t, it only logs outgoing skills/buffs, location info, and incoming buffs/debuffs, along with the usual and additional damage details

Now, if their gear provides certain buffs, such as Alkosh, NMG, Sanctuary, Worm, any Trial set (Slayer), etc. that effects themselves or others, then the log will display it if/when it activates

@Jhalin You can definitely see all of their gear details and skill bars. Just click on a player when viewing a log.

Wont help. Will lead to "remove annonimous ,if you want to be invited to trial/vet dungeon"
    We dont need such option.

I’m not sure you understand what I mean.

You (as the player being inspected) could turn off this feature for all your characters in the settings ... if you wanted to.

Personally, I would leave it on for some characters and turn it off on others.

In any game with inspect otpions, ppl who make raid/trialas/dungeon grps, require you to remove annoinmous so they be alble to inspect your gear. And if you dont have top end game gear you wont get invited. Or if sm1 else it with better gear they will pick him. not you. Even if his game skills are way below yours. This will turn game to gear over skills. Is that what you want ? Because this is what you will get.

Seriously, why there is still no inspect feature in this game? This will be so good! Not only it will be cool to look at other player's achievements, but to look at equipment of an expirienced player would benefit a lot of inexpirienced people! Or if you see some cool-looking guy just look up his costume and dyes! I get really annoyed when I se someone and think "I wonder what gear he has" then press "F" and there's nothing there! Or am I, as always, being stupid and at least something from what I mentioned you can already do?

Inspect isn’t going to change the PvE raid qualifications, @runkorkoeb17_ESO ... you can cry “wolf” about it as much as you want to.

Your guild mates are going to find out your gear setup sooner or later.

Most guilds require that you post your build in Discord or a shared web page anyway ... or a parse if you’re DPS. Or both.

I’m sure that “lesser” player with the correct gear will have to improve or give up their spot ... when the raid sees them slipping behind.

Guild mates? I dont have such. When i run with guild- means i run with frinds= my gear is NM.

Yep, gear checking will even affect normal mode pugs.
This happened frequently in LFR raiding in World of Warcraft, and anyone who's played knows LFR difficulty is pretty much story mode. In higher tiers, knowing gear is somewhat justified.

Really don't need that in normal mode. Keep that stuff in WoW, please...

@ArcaneBlue It is default to anonymous, you have to enable it if you want your name to show up. Otherwise your build will be viewable to others that were in combat with you, but your name will show up as anonymous. Depending how many other people are around it may or may not be obvious who the anonymous players actually are.

A few other things to keep in mind:
    - This can’t be viewed live, it must be uploaded and processed after combat is over
    - It’s pretty inconvenient to use an external site for this, 99% of players won’t bother outside of organized groups
    - Anything posted publicly cannot be linked back to anonymous players

    This.
And for all the reasons listed above as to excluding people from dungeons, trials or whatever, because they're not using BiS sets.
Same goes for those that use the mod that lets you know what dungeon rewards I pick up. If you use that, you get nothing from me.

I've seen quite a few people wearing costumes or armour style variations that I like. I politely send them a whisper, tell them their character looks great, and ask if I want to know something. If they don't answer, I don't press because they're entitled not to respond if they don't want to.
Most of the time they happily tell what they're wearing.

Because we've experienced crap or read about people getting crap in other games.

Frankly, I run solo. I'm not involved in group content unless I'm in a weird mood to join someone at a dolmen or doing a world boss when the whim takes me. So for you to have access to all my stats without my consent is a) invasive and b) totally irrelevant to you in any regard.

Edit: again, about privacy. I just don't understand howq is inspecting someone's character is creepy? I'm not watching you naked, I'm nor stealing your passport or credit card data. It's a fake character, there's nothing in the character that directly leads to you and may endanger your safety! (Well, if you didn't make his/her face exactly like yours)

And if someone called me "s**t" I will start working on becoming good! I will get my gear, I will do my dungeons, I will do my quests and achievements. Like it's not a problem, because the game is meant to be like that - you do content to become better, more knowledgeable of this game.

To prove my point I will make an example of myself. I am totally bad in this game, I've hit cp60 yestarday and it's my first cp character. "Well why it's bad?" you may ask. Well, because I have 460 hours in this game. I have left it 3 times, I haven't played every day, I didn't do content and was always asking myself "Why am I doing this? This game is boring". After another "break" 4 days ago I came back to this game and, coincidentally, I have been called out for being bad. I didn't report this guy, I didn't go cry in a corner, I just said "Yeah, I'm working on it" and started playing more seriously. Now I have cp 60 character, On the other guy I have maxxed Tailoring, Blacksmithing and Alchemy and so far, I'm proud of myself.

Don't expect everyone to be nice to you, work on you character, play casual, yet smart. Don't get angry or sad if someone called you out, work on it or just ignore, you are better than it.

Yes, I may bring negativity to this game, I swear and call people stupid for doing something incorrectly. I'm not doing this to make people think bad, I don't want to make them said and depressed over some game on the internet. I want to make them play, and not fool around.

Just yestarday I was in normal Wayrest Sewers for 60 minutes, because our damage dealers were lvl20 and 40. They kept standing in fire, they didn't activate daedric altars on the boss that kills you if you don't. I was angry at them and you know what? At the end of the dungeon the only one acting stupid was I, I was the one accidentaly agrroing (Is this a word lol?) the boss. standing in bad stuff and sometimes dying. Those two on the other hand played perfectly: they did damage, avoided getting hit, didn't agrro the boss.

I'm not saying to do everything what I do, or do it the same way that I do. I'm saying to change the game in a good way, I want you to make people play better and in the end feel good about their accomplishments, get gear, make bonds with people, play in the team, not cry for being called "dumb" by some random weirdo.

(By the way sorry for all the grammatical or spelling mistakes in this and my previous comments, If this bothers you English isn't my 1st language and I'm still learning it)

:D:D:D You are kidding, right? :D:D:D

Editing: I've never seen anyone have such a giant rant to one line in a post before. Solo players are minding their own business. I don't inspect you, I don't interact with you. So we're like two separate planets in the same solar system on totally different orbits. And if you're going around calling people terrible players and bringing negativity as I'm just chiliing and questing, I'm going to hope that our orbits never pass within a kajillion miles of each other.

Otherwise you're going to end up on my ever-increasing ignore list.

Seriously, being a jerk isn't going to make people want to play with you or share their gear with you. So just stop it. I'm not the problem with the community here.

I wouldn't mind an inspect feature. I'd much rather let everyone see what I wear than having to list what it is and where I got it every time myself (which happened frequently especially with styles and costumes). So "just ask" is not really an alternative.

Well, this is pretty rude, ain't it?

But to answer your question: Because someone might be interested in why you're farting out enough damage to completely one-shot a room with only one ability cast.

I honestly agree with the guy above, people seem to be really sensitive about this, and it's really baffling why that is, with all these "Muh privacy" or "Muh stalkers" (Seriously, stalkers? That's the word you're using?), just because they don't like the idea of people seeing what they're wearing. As it was suggested, there could be an opt-in, opt-out feature that allows people to inspect you on your own volition (And if you're really adamant on keeping your arsenal anonymous, you can always tell people off if they are persistent on seeing what you're wearing).

And if folks are really worried about kicks and junk like that... People are getting kicked from groups for dumb reasons already, someone not liking someone's gear will just get people kicked a few minutes earlier, rather than later when they see people's performance not to their liking.

Personally I'd probably keep it anonymous for my DPS characters because I don't need that kind of stress, but am open to keeping it visible on my Tank characters, because the important thing there to know is "Do I have gear that will help me and the group survive?"

I would never want anyone to inspect me in pvp or pve. If they do that, then they can grasp my weakness! Though I doubt it would make much of a difference since the builds are all hybrids and can't be nerfed or used without the proper mindset anyway :D

What if they want to fool around, but aren't hurting or annoying anyone. What has it got to do with you how they play?

I'm another who likes to play solo. Mainly because of encountering people with a mindset like yours, that has put me off interacting with the majority of the people in the game.

I'm not playing the game "wrong" , I'm not "dispatching" the community ( I really don't think that's the word you're looking for ) it isn't a horrible way to play. It's the way " I " and probably lots of others, like to play. I don't want to play the game your way, and I don't want to play with people who think like you clearly do about it.

Firstly, nothing wrong with running solo content at all just because it's an MMO doesn't mean people should just group up and faceroll everything; some folk like to play by themselves and there isn't anything wrong with it. One of the parts here you've got is right you do content to become better. - However... it isn't up to you to tell people how and what they should play or try to bully them into playing the way you think ESO should be played.

    I can answer that question!
.... I don't have a good answer for it though.

Personally I feel more comfortable looking at someone's gear and come to my own conclusions based on what I see, rather than ask someone (Who I don't trust to be a very pleasant person) about their gear and their life story of obtaining said gear.

And I honestly don't see that such a bad thing. Maybe a bit antisocial, but ain't it better for a person to have something that they can see with, rather than not know at all because they don't want to ask someone over it?
