Put some of that profit back in the game. For example, invest in cheat mitigation, solve Cyrodiil's performance issues and fix the dozens of other years-old bugs like the 30-50% FPS drop bug and the terrain LOD bug.

Either they can't fix them, or they can but its not worth the time and effort to fix them when they could be making new content which makes them more money.

That's pretty much why any broken thing ever doesnt get fixed.

They've been patting themselves on the back for ESO making lots of money for a while lol. One of the highest grossing games on Steam, one of the biggest MMOs on any platform, etc etc..

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad my favorite game is doing well, but it's hard for me not to roll my eyes whenever they flaunt how successful they are while also claiming they're too short staffed to pay attention to the bugs and performance issues that their customers have been complaining about for years.

Well, when higher ups say killing it, they mean financially. They don't care about your ground level experience, but if they are making bank and the bosses are seeing profits and all that, then they are "killing it."

Remember what Rob Garrett told one of the class reps:
I spoke with Rob about the fast release of updates and if ZOS had considered doing a “Great Fix Patch” for one of their updates. He said it’s a question they get a lot and whilst it’s not off the table they as a company do need to produce for everyone and a majority of the bugs and issues faced are not ones everyone encounters or are drastically halting gameplay, as such they need to continue creating content for people who want new content to play and and don’t play at the higher level to notice if a skill or mechanic works a little wonky.

What you and I experience as "critical bugs" just don't register for the great majority of ESO players, so it isn't worth ZOS' time.

If you want to play a game with a good, balanced, mostly bug-free combat experience, ESO is looking like a bad bet.

I'm not even sure what "critical bugs" are.

    Inconveniences, most of them.

    Meta issues, most of them.

This is a game by ZoS based on a Bethesda game.

We all know that Bethesda games do not have glitches of bugs, they have "random features".

Because they don't have to. Simple as that. Until customers stand up for themselves (or a competitor turns up the heat) little will change.

OR the bugs are being severely overstated by the few players who encounter them.

Occasionally I experience some issue but to be honest those ptoblems are infrequent and not game breaking at all.

It often prevents players from playing battlegounds completely, cause we can't just form a group manually and port into a battleground.

    IIRC, you don't PVP.

Those of us who PVP regularly also experience various critical bugs, most notably the "stuck in combat" bug, but including recurring problems with Rapid Maneuvers, doors not working properly, getting stuck on textures, and major glitches with Cyrodiil objectives or PVP equipment. Many of those prevent PVPers from actually playing PVP as its intended. It seems like something goes wrong with every major update, and some of the major problems have persisted for several updates now. Battlegrounds has a queue bug that means matches never start AND those players get hit with a 20 minute deserter penalty for leaving a match that will never start.

That's not to say that PVE doesn't have its share of problems. There are several quests that have known, recurring bugs. ZOS manages to break Trials on a regular basis. Groupfinder breaks during high demand times for what, two years now?

Overall, it seems like ZOS struggles to add new content without somehow breaking old content. I'll point to the most recently known example: adding the Elsweyr prologue quest broke the Main Quest "The Tharn Speaks" from progressing until they fixed it.

Individually, maybe each of those is an "inconvenience." Put together, it paints an unfortunate picture.

The only thing there killing is the game, and from that interview all you can summise from it is, that every cash grab ESO comes up with, it is going to there new AAA game there creating on a new engine.

Anyone who chucks anymore money at this game from now on after that interview needs help.

True and I don't disagree with you. ZoS seems to follow the old Bethesda chestnut that, whenever you update you need to break stuff. It's strange.

    As for "killing it"...

The fact that a 5 year old mmo is still growing and developing at a brisk rate is pretty good. The fact that it's on 3 platforms is also impressive.

I'd say it's on pace for more content per year than wow is and has been for the last couple of years.

Generally the problem with anything that Zeni-Bethesda does is they will never really give you the complete picture of population or purchases (this is because they aren't required to as other publicly traded companies are).

Look at the title of that link OP. "ESO BOSS". Upper management is always focused on the financial aspects of the studio, while it's the people behind the computer that care about the game itself, yet they're not being asked for interviews and statements.

Yes group finder seems to be the main issue now, and as you say BG can not do an manual port and is more critical as you need 3x4 players and you can not wait 5 minutes to get the last two as you can in dungeons.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

You think the next game wont have these issues? This is Zenimax. I love the company, but none of their games are small which means bugs are much, much harder to manage.

Titled "Matt Firor The Fantasy Master".

Idk if you would call this nonsense a bug or bugs but regardless Its how the game is every single day on console, in vivec, and zos has done nothing to change it for a long time. Its truly disturbing they put out any content while console pvp performance is like this 24/7.. Looks fun doesnt it :) ?

And I'd say the stuck in combat bug is pretty critical.
