What's polite about that if nobody really needs it or cares that much anyway? Get in, do your job, get out, everyone is happy, or could be at least, greeted or not.

The way I'm not charging off to tank the next mob while a party member is trying to chat with a quest NPC or I know to wait at the end for them to turn in the quest before disbanding.
When you queue for a dungeon and end up with 3 other persons, as much at it may be surprising they are not bots. When someone says "hi", "hey" or whatever, the least of courtesy is greeting back.

It's not as if it takes a lot of effort to type "Hi".
I always keep my "Hello" emote in my quick slot. It always pays to be polite.

There are people on the other side of the Internet. People you're relying on to get your quick run. You say "hi" or "excuse me" or "please" in real life as well, right? Then again, maybe you don't.
