What type of player do you consider to be a Casual Player? I'm not going to get all possibilities on this poll, if one doesn't match or doesn't fit your needs, please choose other and explain if you wish.
If you would just like to answer as it pertains to yourself, feel free to explain in the comments.
Edit: I forgot, as usual I will give a click for each comment as long as it is not rude even if it is just an "insightful" for sharing your opinion.
Someone who plays casually, which basically means off and on in an none-committed way. Think of it as a casual relationship - only with a video game instead of a person. ^^
Agreed, the word does have this implication, and it may have been introduced to mean something more like "sporadic."
It's kind of unfortunate that there's not another word in circulation, since a lot of people who play regularly, even daily, self-define as "casual" (there are some in this thread). The meaning has clearly shifted, even if the word hasn't.
The reason I asked this is when I read the posts on here it looks as if different folks have different ideas of what they mean when they say it. I wanted to see if I was right.

There is no ‘right.’ Use of the term is not standard, and personally? I do not use the term at all. It is a poor one because it is too polysemic.

The polysemy should definitely make us stop and think whenever we encounter generic claims about "casuals." This group has been blamed for pretty much every ill known to the game, despite the fact that apparently no one can agree on who they are.
Easy: Don't know how to heal, don't know how to tank and deals 2k dps.
Basically people who don't want to git gud at anything.

That's not a casual. the word for that is stupid.
The categories in the new Guild Finder are casual, semi-casual, semi-hardcore, and hardcore. So we'll have to make them mean something, I guess, at least there.
I was in a dungeon yesterday, and the folks in the group sounded like they were enjoying themselves, searching for chests, and heavy sacks, and barely pumping out 50K dps between them all, it was horrifying, they were obviously filthy casuals.
I definitely prefer to play with only serious people, all I want to hear is people panting from finger effort. Maybe even a little weeping as their fingers start to bleed from under the nail.
I despise segregating players based on any aspect of their game. For me one of the beauties of the game is that it is equally engaging and fun for the eternal role playing quester and the perpetual PvPer.
I don’t like the choice of categorisation for the guild finder, it’s astonishingly lazy labelling and seems to perpetuate an idea that social guilds are somehow less valuable than leaderboard chaser guilds, when both should be equally lauded.
For me a casual player is someone who hasn’t gone spreadsheet.
