PSA - STOP THE WEREWOLF/VAMPIRE GRIEIFING - Want to be a were/vamp? Think again!

I'd rather they just quietly take care of the problem players. If they added an easily gained quest to become vamp/were, it would lose it's specialness.

I, for one, would prefer that they make the spawns random and A LOT more rare.

You do know this gets old pretty fast.
In a month no one Is camping those spots.
Anyway I give out my bites for free, so EU AD people once every 7 days my shop is open

...Was any Q/A or testing done outside the first playable areas???

yeap , there was, you can watch force videos about before the game came out , he was vet 2 then , but i think the vamp/werewolf stuff was only added when the game came out, not sure.

They were in-game and have been for a very long time now. Live environments magnify certain things compared to a beta environment.

    Its an MMO.

People found a way to monetize a nieche.

Its not a problem, its brilliant !
You want to be better then them ? Camp the NPCs your self, get biten, do the same for profit.

Putting some effort into a goal makes that goal worth while.

No one is "stealing from you". They are simply better at this game then you :D

Fact that we have all payed for the game doesn't mean you can simply log in, get stuff, because you paid and are entitled to get whatever you want.

Quoted for emphasis. I'm personally not going around doing anything but selling my bite to willing buyers who want the convenience and immediacy guaranteed, and have not touched a bloodfiend since being bitten, but I can understand why some people might want to do so just like any other rare mob in an MMO that can provide a benefit for keeping camped (loot, exclusivity, etc.). This is not a singleplayer game, and just like any group content, difficult solo content, or PVP, you are not entitled to be able to win at it immediately just because you subscribe.

I have no problem with you selling your bite. I really haven't decided if I want to even be a Vamp or a WW, most likely i wouldn't seek it out but if it happened then oh well. My big concern was them charging up front and then refusing to give the bite. That should be a premaban.

Thank goodness I'm not interested in becoming a werewolf/vampyre then.

This is despicable. And sadly human nature.

I agree. It's a nice novelty for RP but tbh I think there are no real positives overall of using either of these.

    "BITE ME, BITE ME"

I promise to do it sometime in the next 48 hours.

I wouldn't mind being betting by a Pact Werewolf from the EU Server ^^ is there a minimum level requirement for that?
I imagine it can be real fun to invade the opposing factions as a huge pack of howling werewolves :) only missing Hircine right in front leading us into the hunt!

If you want to PvP, vamp/ww is a no go.

    Hello!

This is just my personal sob story, please no copy pasta.

Eight years ago my family was attacked by vampires while we were on a holiday trip in Reapers March. They killed my parents and ran away with my sister. I never heard of her again. Since that very night I made a promise to find her and deal with the ones who did this. Every night when the moons align (or just randomly) I'm out there hunting them, killing every single one to destroy the source of the infection.

I bet OP never played a serious MMO. In EVE wich is sub based, you cant even access 60% of the gaming universe becouse a group of another players can shot your ship down without consequence. This might not be the best example becouse of how EVE works, but if someone wants to kill a damn mob in the game every night, I see no reason to forbid. If any of you spent more than 4 hours trying to get bitten this post was rather about how hard it was to complete a 40+ quest as a ~20 player.

Roleplay wise that sounds kind of cool...Gameplay wise is kinda sucky. I know that if I was RP'ing as something akin to the dawn guard I would try and prevent the vampire plague from spreading. But I would kindly stop if the person trying to get bit asked nicely. (and at no cost too!)

And then kill both of them

Or Zenimax fixes this issue - I didn't read on the back of my retail box that I can "re-log to avoid no-life griefers!"

I'm sure on the back of their boxes they didnt read "Do not camp areas" lol

I view this as, what i call it PGC, (P)layer (G)erenerated (C)ontent, which is the best content to have in a mmorpg imho.

Try to view it from an Role-Playing perspective instead of seeing it as fun breaking.

The best storys in mmorpgs comes from exactly such things, at least the stories that i remember the most.

If a group of people really want to dedicate their playing time to Hours and Hours of killing one boring set of mobs for profit, let them.

The only gratification they get out of it is the feeling of power from your reactions.

Nothing prevents any other group of people from hanging out in the same area, or folks who are werewolves/vampires from undermining them by all giving their bites away for free.

The only influence they can exert is over someone who has an idee fixe that they have to be a werewolf and they have to do it right now, and they have to do it in a particular manner.

Try not to let them get your goat, so to speak. And best wishes.

Yeah, going to have to chime in with the folks against the griefing. The idea of "selling bites" doesn't sounds RP motivated, especially when they offer a bite for money and take the money and don't give the bite. It's more along the lines of exploiting the game system to scam players.

I think it might be better to just have a quest you start that results in you getting unexpectedly bitten by a vamp/were, rather than have random spawns that can be exploited to scam people.

    Here's a solution:

    - Randomize the spawns
    - Make them appear randomly, in ANY GIVEN NON-CITY AREA
    - If you've cured the disease OR you've already become a beast, make them unattackable

Simple fix. Make it harder to get, but also less exploitable. Vamps and Werewolves shouldn't be common, but idiots shouldn't be able to grief the system either to ruin other players' attempts to turn.

Oh and, delete the character of anyone found to be exploiting the system.

People really need to get perspective and maybe a sense of humor about things. You honestly expect anyone to believe that there is a handful of people spawn camping all the known vamp/werewolf spawns on every shard 24/7? More than likely you went there a few times and saw a few people camping it, and didnt like it and chose to come crying to the forums because you didnt get your way right that second, speaking of typical human behavior.

Maybe vamps/werewolves are supposed to be rare? I dont remember anyone ever putting a guarantee that there must be x amount of werewolves and vamps on the server. Theres plenty of things to do in this game, you cant expect people to always be camping it, it will free up and everyone will have their turn. Go do something else for awhile like everyone else.

When balreth and the other Davons Watch quests were bugged, I didnt sit around and cry in chat about it while staring like an idiot at the spawns that obviously werent going to work. I went and did something else, and then the server went down. And I made damn sure I was the first one there before the quest got bugged again when the server came back up. If I can do this for a simple quest work around, I think you can find the commitment to do it for your precious vampire/werewolf mechanic, for christs sake.

Greetings. This is a friendly reminder to refrain from attacking other forum members. We are investigating the issue being discussed in this thread and we ask that you keep all communication civil and on-topic. The more information you can provide here, the better we can investigate. When submitting a ticket about this issue, please remember to include the phrase "werewolf/vampire camping" in your ticket.

Thank you for your cooperation and help as we investigate.

arent you creating unnecessary work for yourself, a simple fix is to make it a quest requirement that way everyone gets to enjoy the content, its frustrating that the current VAMP is way to OP at battlegrounds that it's NOT even funny, either you tone it down and balance it, cause the ONLY reason why it's so popular is because the skill set is OP, if it's *** no one wants IT, lastly the human resources would be BETTER off assigned to FIXING all the damm QUEST bugs, which is another FRUSTRATION for your paying CUSTOMER.

Fine the way it is. Makes the hunt all the more exciting, and anyone who buys it and gets scammed simply didn't do his research and is impatient / stupid.

If everything was always straightforward it would be boring and would devalue the content.

Becoming a werewolf or vampire can all be summed up in one simple phrase:

    "First come, first served"

I logged in one day after work, ran to where the werewolves spawned, and just happened to snatch one up. The great thing was was the fact that there were multiple players around all working together to help each other get bit.

Before that I waited 5 days to get bit.

Seems like people just do not want to put the effort in to something that REQUIRES effort.

@Saibotliu, but I want it nowwwwwwwww, and I don't want to do anything because I want it. /sarcasm

Seriously, it just isn't that big a deal, you are right. It's not like you'll never get it, and getting it is just a matter of time anyway. It's called a rare spawn but it isn't really that rare, and multiple people can get it per spawn time even! However, people are acting like it's required to be able to play the game and is something they should get at will when it just isn't designed that way. You want to talk immersion? This is an mmo, and people complaining in zone chat constantly ruins my immersion much more so than having to find d a rare spawn.

The only viable reason I can find to actually BAN someone from CAMPING is their name is something along the lines of fdsfdsafd, and they constantly ask in zone chat to be in a guild with 100+ members because they are female....

This is probably a gold bot camping a werewolf/vampire spawn because their buddies are selling bites.

effort??? the point is that players literally spend days and hours camping the spawn area to get bitten and then a group of grievers comes along guess what these players have to wait another couple of days camping the spawn area, is that FUN???.

I work 10-12 hour days and still managed to become a werewolf...its not impossible.

We keep using the term GRIEFERS..What about all the other RARE spawns throughout Nirn?? Did we forget about those? So if someone runs off and kills one of those will someone start another thread about it? I doubt it...

Just be there, on time, when they spawn. The lvl 40 special mobs are just that, MOBS. They are meant to be killed.

You know what, just make them invincible problem solved.
