No reason they should feel rules don't apply to them and when they're banned from playing or their guild is broken up, they'll think twice about being such trolls.

Can you point out where in the EULA it states you can't kill rare mobs that spawn?

I don't think anyone is asking for it to be easy (I actually want it to be hard). They just want it to not be designed for such easy griefing. I've had guildies that wanted to become a WW and a Vamp, just like you, but every time they try, there are several players there who openly admit to being there just to stop others from getting it.

Just start reporting them. Thats what most people I know are doing...and I will to once I get there to that level as I want to try out the werewolf.
Have you noticed just how unintuitive targeting people let alone reporting them is in this game?
With no click to target it's hardly worth the effort.

Zenimax will fix this by adding WW/vamp for real money in their game store xD.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but most MMO developers don't endorse greifers... The issue isn't that they are killing rare mobs, it's that they are killing rare mobs to screw other people over...

The word you are looking for is not "exploit".

They are not "exploiting" the other players.

They are "extorting" them. Get it right.

That said, camping vampires and werewolves because they know they're popular is kinda a jerk move and I hope they do something about it.

Like, maybe stick a GM there to banstick the idiots being idiots.

I'll volunteer for it. I'm that bored most days.

It's just gonna have to be instanced like the main story and guild quests. Why it isn't i'm not sure.
  • Rousay

I agree that there should be at least one way everyone has the opportunity to get bitten - for example, an instanced quest which has wolves/vamps in it -- NOT a quest to become one, but a quest in which you can be bitten without having to get jacked up by a mob other people will be able to intervene in should you choose to.

I got scratched by a werewolf in a random encounter and contracted the virus. (The first I knew of it was when I went to a city and the quest-giver approached me with her "you've been giving a blessing, fellow hunter. Join us!" speech.) So I find it doubtful that these guilds are locking down every site on the maps with werewolves. That said, if they indeed are, then I agree that that's an exploit that Zenimax should probably address.

(P.S. That line about having to be near the ritual site to be infected? Yeah, that's a crock. I was nowhere near it.)

I met a total stranger about an hour or so before the servers went down. We started talking, and he gave me a free bite. I joined his guild, and it seems like they give away bites for free.

The only condition for my getting said bite: "Give it away to someone as awesome as you".

I'll never sell my bite. You shouldn't either.

I think it's kinda cool that vampires and werewolves are trying to protect their bloodline. Becoming a werewolf or vampire shouldn't be as easy as asking in zone chat. It's interesting that player have taken it into their own hands to make it exclusive.

That being said, prepare to die by silver bolts and expert hunting.

I think a decent way to remedy this issue, quickly would be change the alliance of the mobs to friendly with players that have the matching infection/Skill tree. I think this would appease most as.

    1) Players Griefing for the chance to make a profit will no longer be able to kill matching Mob spawns.

    2) RPers can play their RP roles. (ie. Monster hunter gotta strop the spread, Werewolves and Vampires hating each other)

I do not believe the mobs should be Immortal spawns of spreading infections so leaving them killable to non-infected players is fine in my book.

But when Individuals, groups or even guilds of these players camp spawn sites for the only purpose of bullying players into buying bites from them while mocking them when they do so. (Oh Ha look we killed your mob, but you can buy a bite from us for 25K. No? Oh Look We killed them again... now the price is 30K) That rubs me the wrong way and is also a violation of your own terms of service.

Wow. I guess if they want to pay 15 bucks a month to sit at a spawn area all day and night, solely to screw with people, that's their game. Sounds pretty boring to me, though. Would much rather play the game.

I despise griefers with a passion. When I see it happening, it makes me wish a game allowed PK'ing. Maybe not open PK'ing all the time, but perhaps a cooldown you can activate once every 8 hours on a given player (but that player is open to it the whole 8 hours). Then we could spawn camp the griefers. Problem is, if it's a guild of the ***, they could turn it around on a disgruntled griefee.

All that being said, the griefers have not been able to corner the market. The infection is out among legitimate players already, so it will be available. You may have to wait longer because of the prevalence of recessive bad genes in the human gene pool, but there are some of us who will not support or profit from the malfeasance of these despicable individuals. I am offering bites to guildies for free with the understanding they must also do the same. It has a week cooldown, so spread will be slow at first, much like some real disease outbreaks for the epidemiologists among us. Might make a fascinating study if they'd release the disease spread data. But I digress.... If you are a vamp or were, please offer the bite free of charge at least to your guildies or friends to help spread it. One cannot blame an individual for wanting to profit from selling a bite while it's rare, but people who contrive to keep it rare by making it impossible for players to encounter the 'wild type' infection should be removed from the player pool...and the gene pool.

    1. You can, and should report people that kill spawned werewolves while people are around and waiting for them. This is hindering progress for fellow players, and in turn causing an issue of harassment and disruption of another players gametime. Don't like werewolves or vampires? Walk away, or run away, don't let other people suffer for your unsavory actions.
    2. For those that are camping out for the werewolve/vampire spawns, make friends that log in at the same times as you do and keep up with them in leveling. If you and they are on different layers at the same time, the spawns can be caught if you "Travel to player" to your friend if they have found the spawns untouched on their layer. This helps eliminate the spawn griefing and encourages teamwork with others of your faction.
    3. I cannot stress the report feature enough, if they are causing this much of a problem that you wish to vent it out on the forums, please for the Three, report them for it, take screenshots, submit all evidence you can to get them caught for breaking policies and causing disruption and harassment of other players gametime. Yes, these actions are illegal in the policys and can be the result of termination of the harassers account. No, Zenimax does not use the volcano of account action that Blizzard does, so you screw up, you suffer for it. Three strike rule I think, either way, they will get theirs in due time.

I don't want this to sound mean, or sound like I am endorsing griefing, because I do not endorse any kind of troll-ish behavior. But...in regards to vampires specifically, it's for your, our, and the general health of the vampire skill line's own good, at least for our guild.

Oh boy. This is silly stuff. If I see it, I'll report it immediately. Personally, I don't want to be infected. Bad for PVP business. Still, its wrong. I can't imagine any reason for people to camp them in order to prevent others from accessing the monsters. I mean, is it fun? Don't you griefers get bored? I would rather be leveling, getting loot, or for me, kicking some tail in PVP. I encourage you tough guys camping the monsters to come play some PVP and let's see what you are made of.

There is always the option to beat them at their own game too... they can't camp it all, they can be beaten to a spawn and you can always pass on the bite for free to nice people.

I certainly didn't get my view from reading forum posts. I don't like anything that gives a penalty when I play PVP. From what I understand of the infection mechanics, poison and silver weakness, etc... Since I'm new to the game it isn't something I want to throw in the mix to figure out how to fix, so to say?
