Oh my god, they don't think of the roleplayers.

Want to have a goody little toeshoes characters? Well no tickets for you. Because you need to steal and murder.

    Meanwhile at the crownstore...
    ٩(͡๏̯͡๏)۶
"I am a nightblade. Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

Agreed, I'm in the same boat and am a bit disappointed they didn't add tickets to delve and boss dailies. I mainly play on PS4 NA and it's no issue there. But I created an EU character for the Summerfall event and have enjoyed playing it on occasion. Unfortunately the character is lawful/good and won't even be joining TG/DB much less doing Sacraments and Heists. Not really interested in creating a second character for EU at this point.

Oh well, not really concerned either way, just disappointed (as usual).

Ugh. I love DB and TG, but Sacraments and Heists are literally my least favorite parts of those DLCs (I HATE that they put any sort of timer on stealth missions. You're penalized for taking your time on a stealth mission?! WTF?!)

I was looking forward to this event, because stealth stuff is my jam... but this is just disappointing. I'm going to do enough to get my berry, then go back to pickpocketing and contracts, because those are WAY more fun than Sacraments and Heists. Yuck yuck yuck.

You don't get penalized for taking your time, you get a bonus for being efficient. Like Merlin said: practice makes perfect, and using the right gear helps a lot. If you invest the time and effort you get slightly better reward, up to you to decide if that better loot is worth the investment.

In this case, a bonus for succeeding at an objective is functionally the same as a penalty for not succeeding at an objective.

See, the problem is that the very presence of a timer makes it stressful for me. I HATE being timed, because I'm bad at acting under pressure. I get overwhelmed very easily by that sort of pressure. It doesn't matter that it's optional. I still feel that stress.

It's also a matter of principle. To me, who grew up playing the old Thief games in the middle of the night, stealth gameplay has always been about patience. In a good stealth game, you can take your time to scope things out, and wait for the perfect moment when the guards are all in the perfect position and use the perfect tool for the job. My favorite thing to do in any stealth game was and still is "ghosting," where you get in, complete your objective, and get out again without ever being detected. That's always been the challenge of stealth play, for me. Adding a timer to it was never, ever the point, and I find it just distracts from the core of stealth play. The fact that it's an optional objective is missing the point.

Basically, the presence of a timer on Heists and Sacraments sucks all the fun out of it for me. I love stealth play, but those two things just hit the wrong notes for me to take any fun out of those two dailies. So I maintain my "yuck, yuck, yuck."
    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

(Signature idea shamelessly stolen from Abeille.)

    It's the right of theft.

There's nothing there about the right of not getting caught.

Well, being expert thieves naturally means you don't get caught that often and have to be quite stealthy no?

Or my favorite bit of Bosmer lore (at least since we stopped being Bomser and became Cat Elves)
"For a brief time the Colovian armies used Wood Elf archers, as in the War of Rihad two years past. The Bosmer proved to be too undisciplined and prone to desertion for further use. They would sometimes walk into the shade of a single tree and vanish. Their forest-coupling skills are remarkable. The title of their most famous poem, the Meh Ayleidion, means "The One Thousand Benefits of Hiding."

From Pocket Guide to the Empire

I can't say I've found any lore saying Khajiit are that good at stealth. They've always come across as pickpockets or cat burglars (some pun intended), using their agility to not get caught. While Bosmer will slip in unnoticed and steal your stuff, even if we can't take it out of your pockets as easily.

In anticipation of this event, I did have one char join and progress the TG enough to get access to the daily heist quests. Did one to check it out and make sure I was ready. Missed the timer but never got seen and it worked out okay. Is it indeed possible to just go in bow-ablazing and simply kill everything in sight while you grab the objectives and still complete the quest? Don't care about loot beyond the one event tix. And one tix a day is fine for me so I can continue to avoid those nasty assassins in the DB. Lol.

Yes. A heist area is much like a delve, just a delve with about 4 chests, no skyshard, and a boss you're trying to avoid rather than farm. You can kill everybody you meet and loot their bodies and furniture, without bounty.

Tough call, I'd possibly edge it towards DB as you get the blade of woe and there are more motifs to farm there. Also the blade of woe nicely complements the TG dailies but you can't use it in a heist if you want to get in under the 8 minute timer.

Story wise its purely whether you prefer a thieving premise or an assassins one.

Not participating in the events is perfectly fine ... just don’t expect free tickets because you’re “burnt out”.

@kmcaj , regarding continued play, there's basically just dailies and repeatables. So, it honestly comes down to if you'd prefer murder or thievery more. I personally thing DB had the better of the two storylines.

TG will make (cost?) you more gold in the long run (not counting motif sales).

DB will give you more satisfaction, next time an irritating NPC decides to spout something inappropriate as you pass.

The other thing that apparently has not occurred to them: If you don't yet own the DLC, it's going to take a certain amount of footwork before you can even do the thing you need to do to earn the ticket.

Granted, it's not hours and hours, but it's still a delay they have not considered - a delay that hasn't really been present in any other event.

People are going to assume they can purchase the DLC and just go.

I totally agree re the timers.

I really enjoy these dlcs yet if they who chose to place timers on these missions could read my mind, they know exactly what they can do with them --imo these timers took really well done and enjoyable dlcs (minus that wench who receives your completed thieves 's quest) and neutered them inserting these timers--imo

I've down flawless heists on my PvP Templar Healer and my PvE Tank. It's really not that difficult with a few practice runs and some invisibility pots. Not that you need flawless heists to get event tickets ... you only need to complete the heist.

There is still a day and a half to get the quest lines in and practice up on heists and sacraments before the event's official start.

The other option is to spend more time whining in the forums about (a) skipping the event, (b) not liking the timers, or (c) how unfair life is.

Yes the events can get boring and long in the tooth. it is not a job but a game to be enjoyed. If you start doing something and decided before hand it is not good and no fun but a chore then guess what, it will be a chore and not fun.

It will take like 10-15 minutes a day to do both quest for 2 tickets. No one says you have to do it on all of your characters and on both servers.

I think it is good that ZOS does these events in game. It shows they are still working on making the game fun and enjoyable for those that want to participate and for those that don't then nothing changes and you can keep doing what you enjoy.

Sorry for the rant but the amount of whiner's on the forum sometimes about something extra and free is unbelievable. Sure if you think they (ZOS) can do better then suggest it.
