Sorry mate, I'm already feeling a bit alienated by their maintenance schedule. Let's face it, from what we've seen so far, EU is a second priority.
(Just to be clear, I agree 100% with what you said. I just don't have faith in Zenimax at this point)
There is no statement as to a date, clearly Zenimax want to ensure the hardware at least is stable and fit for purpose. That said, the comments they have made make it clear they're looking to do it as soon as they're comfortable doing so, they have no incentive to draw it out longer that needs be.Really? There is no information on this at all?

The EU megaserver is currently hosted in Dallas, Texas. They're planning to move it at a later date. Note, this will require downtime to move and is a big job as they don't have EU datacenter built yet.

Yeah I honestly think I am going to have to wait to use my Sword and Shield character till the servers are moved. Think I will go with a ranged Sorcerer till then, because atm....yeah......fighting bosses is way too much of a chore with a Sword and Shield character.South_of_Heaven wrote: »My connection is perfect and I experience latency and small lag spikes since launch. It is either the transatlantic connection or their server bandwidth is near capacity.
It is a fact that anything transatlantic comes with latency. I don't understand how they can say that location does not make a difference. If they believe it's negligible - it is NOT. It is terrible with this combat system!
Im sure you have simply not noticed it yet. Pay attention when blocking. Block RIGHT as the enemy is striking, you will notice a blood splatter coming off your character, meaning the block did not count. Either that or you are super lucky.Seroczynski wrote: »I am playing Dragonknight with 1h/shield and 2h.Which class and skill set are you using ?Seroczynski wrote: »I got no notable lag when playing from my location (The Netherlands) on the EU megaserver.
I am scared that when I am going to look at it that way, I will find out to be lagging ^^ Will report back on the matter if I don't forget.Im sure you have simply not noticed it yet. Ugh, that's bad.GossiTheDog wrote: »laced, you're presuming that network latency is the cause of the issue. Players in North America report extreme lag here all the time. I sometimes get 15 second lag to sneak or hit people. There's clearly a bunch of issues going on.
It's a contributing factor, at the very least. Take into account we have a permanent XXXms delay (in EU) on every network activity in addition to any issues the servers might have.GossiTheDog wrote: »laced, you're presuming that network latency is the cause of the issue.

I sometimes leave my character like that, he's so entertaining to watch in all those ridiculous posesGossiTheDog wrote: »I too get weapon locking, I clear it by blocking.
I do agree that the lag issues that are probably caused due to the server being in America are very annoying.
I don't know what their idea was behind that, but I would love to know.
Anyone knows?

Lag due to distance is rarely a factor now - especially not in a game like ESO where timing and reaction time doesn't matter as much. I have about 80-120 ping to their servers, even a really quick reaction time from a human is 1,5-2x this amount. Heavy attacks which needs to be blocked usually take 1-2 secs at least leaving you ample time to react.
