Let's take a trip down nostalgia lane. What is something you miss (can be anything) that used to be in the game, but no longer is or has been heavily modified from what it originally was?

For me it would be the Exploration armor trait. I miss throwing on a set of Exploration gear and mindlessly zigzagging across zones trying to find all of the locations.

    The Coldharbor tutorial.

For all that the new tutorials throw players into the new content faster, the old Coldharbor tutorial did a far superior job of introducing the main conflict, all the major characters, gameplay mechanics like skyshards, and explaining our position in the world as the Vestige.

In case you didn't know, or someone else didn't post it already, after you are done the main tutorial, you can access the Coldharbour tutorial as well and experience the storyline from that and get the skillpoint from that quest too. :)
Far too many characters to list any more.

Though you can still do the Coldharbour "tutorial" it's not the same as it used to be. It's been nerfed substantially from what the original was; there was more to see, more to do, more to loot.

This is what I would want. Hirable combat mercenaries in Cyrodiil. Would be cool if they followed too. But I would only want this if performance wasn't already an issue.

    I'm aware.

    That's not the point.

The new tutorials are inferior in terms of introducing new players to the story, characters, and gameplay mechanics that only come into play as the Vestige (like why we want to hunt skyshards, why we don't die, why we can escape various quest events because we don't have a soul, etc.) . Indeed, starting new characters in Summerset goes blatantly against the logic of the game's story-line, handwaving timey-wimey stuff aside. While I understand ZOS' desire to put new players in the new content ASAP, the new tutorials are the worst thing that happened to ESO' ability to tell a coherent story since One Tamriel.

I miss the days when everything and everyone wasn't scaled up to CP160. When zones had levels themselves, and there was a clearer sense of development in terms of what a character could and couldn't do (beyond skills unlocking). Scaling also probably cut down on bots. I loved questing in silver and gold zones. It was like doing my own RPG, narry another in sight.

Being able to convert (almost) any piece to Imperial or Morag Tong style anywhere.

Free outfit styles are not the same, I used that a lot to hide ugly pieces or huge shoulders I got as drops. Now the only option is to switch to an outfit, which either means changing all your armour or devoting an outfit slot just to the few pieces I don't like.

I find this change completely unacceptable considering it was a feature marketed when you bought certain editions of the game. Why remove that functionality?

Breath of Life before all the nerfs... oops I mean balance changes. I have lots of maximum level characters for all classes, but my main is and always will be a Templar PvE healer. I miss what the class was, from a nostalgic point of view, regardless of what may have been better for overall balance or PvP or whatever else drove the changes.

Also I miss when overland/quests were difficult. I play the new areas for the stories, but one of these days it sure would be nice to not steamroll over the large boss that has killed thousands in two seconds.
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

    This:
I miss levelled zones. 1T did some good and probably saved the game but I liked the danger of going to a zone before you were the right level.

I'm definitely clouded by nostalgia here, but some part of me misses the veteran zones. Don't get me wrong, the way things are is much better, and it promotes a lot more traffic going through each zone, I just have a personal attachment because of how challenging the zones used to be. I marathoned through them with my friend back in the very early days of this game, and it was a real ordeal and an experience I don't think I'll ever get again in this game.

1T should have been configured to let players go anywhere, but it ought to have kept the danger levels of the higher areas just as they were.

    ^^^^ So much This!

Now the only challenge I run up against while doing overland content is WB's, like the one I ran into yesterday in Deshaan....Lol.

I remember many times before 1T, while out farming on my DC Sorc running into the next level zone (because I wasn't paying attention and I was new) and getting my arse handed to me. I MISS that!

I miss the challenge we used to have before 1T hit.

Now my gaming experience here is running into groups of people (2-3 in the group) farming the same mobs in an area until they are bored and then moving on to the next bunch, to level up to CP 160.

And the bad thing about this is.... I do the quests and 9 times out of 10 the mobs are in a quest area which means it takes me longer to be able to complete the quest because of them farming the mobs.

And before someone says it...Yes I do go find more mobs in the area so I can get my kills or items. I have learned to not let that kind of stuff stop me from continuing on.

Things are so different now then they were before 1T hit.....I am still trying to get used to it....

When someone leaves for 2 years... that should say something.
Yes, I returned, but that is only because I LOVE this game but I don't ENJOY it as much as I did before 1T hit.

    I went from a no-lifer to a filthy casual because of 1T. :(
