wish i could join youI happily signed up for a six-month sub Saturday evening. This is the best MMO launch I have been part of or heard about. And let's not forget that game forums are always filled with people who will never be happy or admit that things aren't as bad as they want to believe. The game itself is full of happy folks busy playing. Back to playing. *smile*
And here is the point we are all trying to make.We want the game to be smooth for us as well. I think i can speak for the lot of us with the problems "WE LOVE THE GAME" we just want to play just like the rest of you lol.The game is excellent and I'll play long term. I knew going in that there would be issues, as with every other mmo launch, but its been relatively smooth for me.

And yet I have never seen so many dissatisfied people complaining about bugs and such. People would like to claim that times have changed and they expect more, but realistically that's like expecting jet packs as a form of transportations because the combustion engine has been around for over 100 years.
Lasting change is a slow gradual process, and the video game industry is no different. Could there have been things handled differently? Yes absolutely, but by no means is this game so borked or broken that its unplayable, nor is the balance so bad that everyone is band wagoning onto a certain class. As long as Zeni doesn't mess up I can only see this game getting better and better. They can have my $15 because the amount of fun I take away from this game far exceeds the cost of admittance.

I still don't have my Pre order treasure maps and have been waiting 4 days for my ticket to be looked at, but really that's no big deal.
People "all over the world" still does not absolve your ISP.I completely agree with youYou do realize that contacting your ISP does not mean the issue is not on your end in terms of connectivity issues, right?I have opened the proper ports, contacted my ISP, cleared the cache in the router adjusted my security settings(then just tried turning them off all together)the fact that people all over the world are having similar issues means this is a programming problem on zenimax's part lol we can all play every MMO on the market but yours!!! BUUTT the problem is ours ? Hhmm what did sherlock holmes state about the obvious ?
Your ISP is merely going to do a modem check to see if they can see you on their end and if so, they tell you their end is fine....When plenty of times it is not.
If the issue was the code, it would not be discriminate in who it effected. Because it is discriminate lends itself to an environment issue. Virgin Online had an issue with it, and all communications they had to an eso server timed out on the same hop in a tracert. And that ISP said they had no issues as well.
Funny how people are quick to give their ISP the benefit of the doubt with no knowledge in networking and in the same breath are sure the problem is within the game's code with no knowledge in development either.but there are people all over the world having these connection issues, but have no trouble playing other MMO's that suggest to me that its still something zenimax has done differently with their game, and yes I did not just stop at the ISP but look at it from their end ( Well sir do you any other connection issues ? uhh no everything else is fine. hmm well sir we have checked your modem and opened up the requested ports perhaps the problem is on the other end. can we help you with anything else ? No but i still have this problem. thank you for using (fill in ISP) Phone hangs up.......................
James I get that i really do but alot of us reported these same bugs 4 months ago now common sense tells me that perhaps there was not enough of us with this issue back then for them to take it seriously but multiply the player base by 100x and now it is a problem a 4 MONTH old problem. Not trying to argue with you but 4 months is a lot of time in this industryjamesharv2005ub17_ESO wrote: »I am really trying to be understanding but you have to understand the bugs that are being experienced are the same that were reported 4 months ago.jamesharv2005ub17_ESO wrote: »Another point that a few of you have made is the lack of communication on zenimax's part. A little communication would go a long way to easing the frustrations of a lot of people.
You know what would happen if they posted a "We are working on it." thread? Everyone would yell at them for not giving them new info. The game has been out 4 days can we cut them a little bit of a break?
You act like once a bug is reported they can immediately know exactly what causes AND how to fix it. Also your bug is not affecting everyone. In fact most are able to login and play just fine. Sometimes these kind of errors are hard to track down.
and to all those who can play just fine....why the hell are you on the forums ?
peace out
I already got my retail edition refunded, even though I used the codes, which was pretty nice of my retailer to do for me. I doubt I'll sub after my free month is up. I was one of those guys defending the game on gamespot, IGN and YouTube, now it's just not worth it.
Edit- Also my Molag Bal statue was broken, wouldn't fit, and Zenimax and the people who made the statue were in denial.
Absolutely continuing my subscription. I'm having a lot of fun so far.SuperScrubby wrote: »Interesting, this is probably one of the smoothest launches I've ever experienced in my 10+ years of playing MMO's. And this is very insightful and pretty much spot on. The people saying "times have changed, there should be 0 bugs and everything should be perfect on launch day" are about like "Back to the Future II had flying cars in 2015. Where's my flying car darnit?"

To start with it is basically a "carebear" game. Which means it is designed for people that want to be able to die and laugh about it while they wait to pop up at the nearest shrine at no cost other than a few gold to repair the armor(which would have been in need of repair anyway). Death means nothing.
Pvp is very impersonal. It is basically a huge zerg that is trying to push another huge zerg out of another area for no reason other than turning a map icon a different color. If they are successful then the map icon changes color and the zerg might push back, may not. You can agree or not agree but it does not change the fact that if you were not in that huge zerg neither side would notice.
The emperor bonus is just reserved for someone(one person)with no life whatsoever outside of this game so that leaves out about 99.999% of the rest of the world.
While I have never been a great pvp'er I have never been able to enjoy a game much that had mechanics that would not allow people to loot items from a fallen corpse in fear of hurting peoples feelings. Again (carebear).
Nothing at all to gain from pvp. Cant loot.
Nothing at all to lose from pvp. If you die just laugh while you reload at a shrine with everything you had.
Now on to the fact that I was already on the fence about this game due to constant crashing. I have not played a full 30 minute period since launch that I did not crash.
And in February I spent over $100 on a "PREORDER, HAH!". Some preorder.
The game launched on a Friday and the retailers could not ship until launch day(per Zenimax). This means that on Friday(launch day) my preorder ships out. Then during that same weekend(Sunday) Zenimax cuts off my access to my game. Did I mention that I paid over $100 a FEW MONTHS AGO??!?!?! For a preorder. WOW!
