I happily signed up for a six-month sub Saturday evening. This is the best MMO launch I have been part of or heard about. And let's not forget that game forums are always filled with people who will never be happy or admit that things aren't as bad as they want to believe. The game itself is full of happy folks busy playing. Back to playing. *smile*

People like the TC are why games fail. I hate that i live in a world where WoW is the most popular and successful MMO of all time. So many great MMOs have been ignored, underpopulated, and ruined by whiny gamers who believe anything that isn't perfect isn't worth playing. Go get a loan, start your own company, make your own game, since you know what's what in the game dev. world.

Well, this is the reason why always come to new MMOs in about 3 months after launch - But I fail to hold myself from this game. The game itself - I love it.
If they fix the "Unknown error" I believe I will without a doubt sub for a long time.

Maybe not too rational, but you know addiction.

As long as this game is still fun to me I will continue to play it.
    I have subbed so fare.

The increasing bug and crashes I am experiencing is how ever lowering me being able to have any fun.

Atm I am playing PVE and questing is going so so. I crash sometimes and i relog sometimes, its okay I can live whit that. But I am dreading the moment when I want to do way more PvP.
As of now my PvP experience has not been that great, I spend more time crashing and loading, than actually playing and that is a huge problem if just 5 % of the gamers is having this problem. I see entire raids gets kicked, I see attacking forces suddenly stand still because they crash, Its just not any fun.

Right now the only thing I have seen from an ZOs employee is to lower your grafix settings. Seriously what kind of answer is that. That sadly just tells me that their game currently cant handle the massive amount of players they promised it could (Cough GW2 Cough).

People in the EU are spending their game time waiting on server maintenance, loading screens and crashes. If something is not done soon, people will just stop trying. Its all a matter of fun. If the problems are worse than the fun. The player will stop trying.

So basicly at some point I will get fed up and cancel my account.
I really hoped and expected more.
ZOS has been so vocal up to release, now it seems they dont give a f....

I am still here though, I am still playing again because I am having some fun, but how long it lasts..well that kinda depends on ZOS.

The game is excellent and I'll play long term. I knew going in that there would be issues, as with every other mmo launch, but its been relatively smooth for me.

I still don't have my Pre order treasure maps and have been waiting 4 days for my ticket to be looked at, but really that's no big deal.

Interesting, this is probably one of the smoothest launches I've ever experienced in my 10+ years of playing MMO's. And yet I have never seen so many dissatisfied people complaining about bugs and such. People would like to claim that times have changed and they expect more, but realistically that's like expecting jet packs as a form of transportations because the combustion engine has been around for over 100 years.

Lasting change is a slow gradual process, and the video game industry is no different. Could there have been things handled differently? Yes absolutely, but by no means is this game so borked or broken that its unplayable, nor is the balance so bad that everyone is band wagoning onto a certain class. As long as Zeni doesn't mess up I can only see this game getting better and better. They can have my $15 because the amount of fun I take away from this game far exceeds the cost of admittance.

    Very well said Sir B)

I feel badly for the people who are having troubles, but for me, this launch has been the smoothest launch since LOTRO. I had some verify-redownload issues with patch 1.01 but other than that, nothing. The only bug I thought I had was my own fault because I didn't realize I needed to actually wear the disguise to get into a castle... once I figured that out, I was golden - but again my bad not theirs.

As for this thread, really I wonder why people are posting in it that plan to resub because the guy was trolling for people who didn't want to resub and with the title and the number of replies its deceptive at least.

I have opened the proper ports, contacted my ISP, cleared the cache in the router adjusted my security settings(then just tried turning them off all together)the fact that people all over the world are having similar issues means this is a programming problem on zenimax's part lol we can all play every MMO on the market but yours!!! BUUTT the problem is ours ? Hhmm what did sherlock holmes state about the obvious ?
You do realize that contacting your ISP does not mean the issue is not on your end in terms of connectivity issues, right?

Your ISP is merely going to do a modem check to see if they can see you on their end and if so, they tell you their end is fine....When plenty of times it is not.

If the issue was the code, it would not be discriminate in who it effected. Because it is discriminate lends itself to an environment issue. Virgin Online had an issue with it, and all communications they had to an eso server timed out on the same hop in a tracert. And that ISP said they had no issues as well.

Funny how people are quick to give their ISP the benefit of the doubt with no knowledge in networking and in the same breath are sure the problem is within the game's code with no knowledge in development either.
I completely agree with you :) but there are people all over the world having these connection issues, but have no trouble playing other MMO's that suggest to me that its still something zenimax has done differently with their game, and yes I did not just stop at the ISP but look at it from their end ( Well sir do you any other connection issues ? uhh no everything else is fine. hmm well sir we have checked your modem and opened up the requested ports perhaps the problem is on the other end. can we help you with anything else ? No but i still have this problem. thank you for using (fill in ISP) Phone hangs up.......................
People "all over the world" still does not absolve your ISP.

The opposite is true, people all over the world do not have the issue.

The question is what lies unique to you vs the rest of the world.

And being able to connect to another MMO does not absolve your ISP either. Some ISP's use their own DNS servers, especially bad if they don't update them regularly-and you'd be surprised.

Look at the code like this.

If the code were a person, named John Doe, and John Doe slapped everyone he saw. Then there is a problem with John Doe.

If John Doe only slaps you, or a certain group - then the problem is not entirely John Doe. The problem exists between John Doe and You (along with the others). Who is the problem is a combination of the two.

And here lies the problem. If it's your ISP - the person that introduced you two - then neither of you have the power to change that person. Well, you can change your ISP.

I don't plan to resub if they don't get the bank bug fixed that has haulted my progress since Saturday. I certainly don't mind bugs here and there, but one that causes you to lose tons of resources and time are another matter. They haven't even replied with a "we're looking into it" on the ticket (which was entered 4 days ago), which is disheartening.

Really dig the game but I can't keep playing if it's possibly to continue to lose progress and never have the issue resolved.

Another point that a few of you have made is the lack of communication on zenimax's part. A little communication would go a long way to easing the frustrations of a lot of people.

You know what would happen if they posted a "We are working on it." thread? Everyone would yell at them for not giving them new info. The game has been out 4 days can we cut them a little bit of a break?
I am really trying to be understanding but you have to understand the bugs that are being experienced are the same that were reported 4 months ago.

You act like once a bug is reported they can immediately know exactly what causes AND how to fix it. Also your bug is not affecting everyone. In fact most are able to login and play just fine. Sometimes these kind of errors are hard to track down.
James I get that i really do but alot of us reported these same bugs 4 months ago now common sense tells me that perhaps there was not enough of us with this issue back then for them to take it seriously but multiply the player base by 100x and now it is a problem a 4 MONTH old problem. Not trying to argue with you but 4 months is a lot of time in this industry

Four months is nothing. This game has been in development for years. Also sometimes intermittent problems are hard to track down like I said before.

I already got my retail edition refunded, even though I used the codes, which was pretty nice of my retailer to do for me. I doubt I'll sub after my free month is up. I was one of those guys defending the game on gamespot, IGN and YouTube, now it's just not worth it.

Edit- Also my Molag Bal statue was broken, wouldn't fit, and Zenimax and the people who made the statue were in denial.

I've heard other people mention the tail being broken and the parts being designed so poorly/inaccurately that it can't be fitted together, and that the length of the tail can make it hard to display on a shelf.

I also heard some people's book had like 80 pages of all the same pages, or pages missing all together. Shocking lack of quality control on such an expensive purchase, to be sure.

And this is very insightful and pretty much spot on. The people saying "times have changed, there should be 0 bugs and everything should be perfect on launch day" are about like "Back to the Future II had flying cars in 2015. Where's my flying car darnit?"

Oh my gosh, to expect there to be zero bugs and 100% smooth sailing is a pipe dream that will never happen. The reason why is, most games (especially MMOs) are growing ever more complex to accommodate a player base demanding a better gaming experience than the last MMO. It's not just an increase in graphics capability to make things look more realistic (that's actually the more simple part of the "bug" equation), it's the exponentially more sophisticated AI for everything, detailed quests, etc. that generates literally millions of lines of code that have to be checked through and cross correlated with other interactions. More lines of code = more bugs.

So for a game like TESO to be about as bug "fee" as say WoW was at launch is an accomplishment.

I personally don't think this game will ever be one of those I could ever get very involved in. I'm sure I am about to get flamed pretty hard but I call it like I see it.

To start with it is basically a "carebear" game. Which means it is designed for people that want to be able to die and laugh about it while they wait to pop up at the nearest shrine at no cost other than a few gold to repair the armor(which would have been in need of repair anyway). Death means nothing.

Pvp is very impersonal. It is basically a huge zerg that is trying to push another huge zerg out of another area for no reason other than turning a map icon a different color. If they are successful then the map icon changes color and the zerg might push back, may not. You can agree or not agree but it does not change the fact that if you were not in that huge zerg neither side would notice.

The emperor bonus is just reserved for someone(one person)with no life whatsoever outside of this game so that leaves out about 99.999% of the rest of the world.

While I have never been a great pvp'er I have never been able to enjoy a game much that had mechanics that would not allow people to loot items from a fallen corpse in fear of hurting peoples feelings. Again (carebear).

Nothing at all to gain from pvp. Cant loot.

Nothing at all to lose from pvp. If you die just laugh while you reload at a shrine with everything you had.

Now on to the fact that I was already on the fence about this game due to constant crashing. I have not played a full 30 minute period since launch that I did not crash.

And in February I spent over $100 on a "PREORDER, HAH!". Some preorder.

The game launched on a Friday and the retailers could not ship until launch day(per Zenimax). This means that on Friday(launch day) my preorder ships out. Then during that same weekend(Sunday) Zenimax cuts off my access to my game. Did I mention that I paid over $100 a FEW MONTHS AGO??!?!?! For a preorder. WOW!

It would be nice if I can activate my game. When I hit the "VISA" icon, I see the spinner for loading the credit card form, but it auto logs me out. This is a known issue, and I'm on Time Warner Cable in SoCal. I also have to use Chrome with HOLA extension in order to log in as well.

Considering this bug had been around for over a month, I am surprised they haven't fixed it yet.

Regardless, I can't even get my free month unless I use my work internet.

Sorry Zenimax, not going to put my CC on file till you fix this rather simple issue.

I am gladly paying for a subscription, it costs virtual nothing for the quality of the game they delivered and as a MMO'er for the last 15years can understand how people are still complainign about this. Sure there are things i hate (bag space, bag space) but so much good makes up for the bad. Some people need to get a grip on reality and realise as bad as some of this teething problems are, they are not uncommon to any MMO game launched. Yes haters even the "OMG they charged my card" isnt anything new to the gaming world.
