With Altmer: I'm kind of optimistic that my magicka character will get a needed stamina help but I'm worried that it won't be practical unless I build for a larger stamina pool still.

Going be sorcs that stack shields harder to kill in open world pvp due to if they get cc or run a lot they get stam. But it’s ok but increasing the resources is little too much.

So all the racials are looking pretty good in this patch. Except High Elf. That is the most illogical change I've ever seen. The racial before was fine, this change isn't lore friendly, doesn't help race identity and really makes no sense. I seriously thought it was a typo or I'd read it wrong when I first saw it. Change it to something useful and we have some interesting racials for the most part.

I’m not the fan of increasing the resources more. Going be easy as a sorc spamming shields in pvp and having infinite substain to stam when they are being cc constantly by people.

Instead, they realized that Altmer was too close to Breton and Khajiit in testing, so they nerfed them to ensure that both Dunmer AND Altmer had to race change.

If you look at Orc, they have two damage boosts in max stam and WD, and then some genuinely useful side bonuses in health and speed. Altmer got the magicka equivalents of the first two, and a waste of space. If there is a determination to remove the sustain, why not replace it with something like a health buff to mitigate use of purple food versus blue, for example.

I was ... not expecting the Wood Elf "damage" change.

So what, now I can overpenetrate for two attacks after dodge-rolling?

I fail to see how this is in any way useful for PvE or PvP. So now Bosmer have two useless passives. RIP. :(

The Hunter's Eye speed reduction was needed, although I wish it had been accompanied by making the duration begin after the dodge roll completes, the same way Bow's Hasty Retreat passive works.

i think orcs become way better but that bosmer passive is weird.

altmer and bosmer got the short stick.

    Or the long stick...

Roll dodge just to get it lol. Should be 1000 penetration without roll dodging. Doesn’t ZOS know roll dodging been nerfed ages ago cause you can spam it without any penalties.

Yes, and same for stamina, they realized that somehow all stamdps races are really close to each other at first iteration, so they bring tremendous buff to orc out of nowhere, and since orc was never pve stamdps, and small % of players play orcs, so now you can imagine number of race changes of those who aim for best possible results. Though how all this is connected to 3 race/name change tokens..

As an Altmer, I just don't understand the change. On live because of the fire staff meta Dunmer are top mag DPS followed by Altmer. On the PTS, prior to these changes, Breton and Khajiit were the top DPS with Altmer being close behind. Now all of a sudden it is said that Altmer damage and sustain is too high (Bretons have better sustain and damage) and they need their sustain taken away (loss of sustain is a DPS loss, surely you know this ZOS'). In order to facilitate this change you have decided to give Altmer (the most magically gifted race) a stamina sustain passive?

@ZOS_BrianWheeler I implore you to explain this change. It is hurting my head. I can't make sense of it. Talk to us, release a statement or a video and show us your vision. Let us see the road ahead. I'm not trying to flip out and rage across the forums, I'm genuinely bewildered. This change isn't consistent with the testing of the community or the lore. I know you guys have mountains of data and you won't (rightfully so) share all of it, but explain what this accomplishes? All you have done for mag dps is to swap Dunmer and Altmer (current BIS mag DPS) with Breton and Khajiit. How is this balance? You have just tipped the scales in the opposite direction. Scales that in the last PTS you had already balanced and I applauded you for it. You had dps numbers as consistent as I've ever seen in this game and then you went and nerfed the third best mag dps.

Orc PvP perspective. I'm thrilled. 2k Stam! 1k health! The loss of sustain can be made up as well as the healing.

And in CP settings the percentages seem to carrying through with everything! Some insane stat builds incoming. War drums beating.

Exactly my thought for my stam DD. At least it's definetely a buff for orcs this patch.

Now we just need to get rid of this 10% Inspiraton passiv (which is only good for new chars, but not for all those who have crafting on max) and then it's perfect!

Altmer: Interesting change for PvP and solo/PUG playing. Not as useful as the original in end-game but I like it.
Bosmer: Nerf to speed was needed. Penetration is pretty nice and makes those rolling Bosmers even funnier/more annoying.
Khaiit:Small buffs are nice. I think they are in pretty good condition. 5m detection reduction was absurd and good to see it back to 3m.
Argonian: I thought the nerfs were bit over the top and am happy to see they got something back. Still would add the poisonresistance back, just for lore reason.
Nord: Is the same and I like it.
Dunmer: STILL MISSING racial identity that separates them from Altmer and adds something interesting to the table.
    Breton: I LOVE IT!
Orc: I have mixed feelings… Passives not bad but have use mostly in PvP and solo play. Still good but not as attractive as the previous ones and is a big hit to Orc's attractiviness in end-game content.
Redguard: Very good. Would have been happy with previous ones but I don't say no to buffs.
Imperial: Better than previous one. Was hoping for a bit of max magicka but tri-sustain is also always useful. Cooldown might be a bit too long though? More balancing probably still needed.

I think that Argonians have got their title back as the master race of PVP.

The Argonian's sustain is totally over-performing now on the live server.

The new bonuses will be slightly lower ... but still too strong for PVP imo.
Basically the self healing bonus will be down to 6% form 10%.
And resources they get on potions will be down 4000 from 4620.

It does not feel that 4% loss on self-healing and 620 resources loss on potions will bring the race back in line with others.
Please enlighten me if i'm wrong...but as of now this racial balance brings nothing but frustrations.
So many changes done just to leave things unbalanced again.

Wheeler is even worse. This is a disaster so far. I imagine the first round of changes were actually Wrobel's doing since it would have been in the pipeline for a while now. This new round is on Wheeler.

Guess we are back to making big blatantly stupid changes instead of gradually refining things. How many people did the Altmer change go through and how did all of them OK it. Honestly ZoS, getting our hopes up that you are finally making positive and meaningful changes and then you immediately go and shatter that small amount of faith and trust..

They went too far with Orc. They just needed to make the Brawny passive be 1000/1000, that's it.

It's like they are letting a chicken with it's head cut off do the balancing. So much stuff is just all over the place.

Imperials are still by far the worst race. What gives, ZOS?

Also agree that Altmer change is pretty terrible. Makes no sense and I don’t think anyone was asking for it.

Some of the other adjustments are really good. But I still mourn my Imperials, and even three race change tokens won’t be enough for me to change them all.

Bosmer changes :joy: ... I'll just reroll, but feel sorry for anyone who is attached to that race

In a way it's kind of balanced now tho. They were good for only one class with specific build in PvP, now they'll suck for everyone at everything. Balanced.

Good observation. Didn't notice the equivalence with orc til you pointed it out. I agree with health buff. I suggested the health buff that dunmer lost be given to altmer, but more like 750-1000hp and maybe like 50-65 mag recovery if ZOS doesn't want altmer having too much sustain (compared to khajit and breton). But Khajit now went from 75-85 mag revovery, so 50-65 mag recovery for altmer should be a decent starting point.

Give dunmers the new spell charge passive along with fire resistance/immunity. Altmers and dunmers are now very close in magicka identity (1850 magicka and 258 spell damage vs 2000 magicka and 258 spell damage).

Bosmer still lacks identity and feels rushed...they should just give a flat physical penetration/weapon damage value. Redguard's are already king of sustain so Bosmer could use a little something to make them more on par.

High Elf feels really weird...like why are they restoring stamina? High Elf by lore etc has the strongest Magicka attunement. I'd say remove the stamina restore altogether and if the sustain is too high, slightly adjust it. Dark Elf is the hybrid balanced race, let Altmer be more specialized imo.

If only someone else could make a half decent MMO/co-op RPG. Anthem is looking like hot garbage after the beta (to be expected considering it's published by EA and developed by the shadow of Bioware), and that's the only western MMO/co-op game on the horizon.
