I am still rather new to the game and haven't followed the whole story about this event. If I understand correctly, if I want berries to evolve my mount I will have to PvP? Is this for real? So if you are not in PvP, at all, you are forced into a gameplay that you despise for a feature that has nothing to do with PvP?!

The uninformed should be told that there's lots of ways to earn alliance points, and you don't necessarily have to get into one on one brawls to be successful. You can run around healing your teammates and never once have to cast spells on or fight the enemy directly if you don't want to. You can repair walls and doors far away from the battle. Or you can use ballistas and trebuchets and bomb the enemy from hundreds of yards away. And you can cast special shields over your team's siege equipment to keep them from taking full damage. Plus there's enemy NPCs you can fight if you want to, instead of players. Or you can just stay out of the way and stand and watch from a distance, and be in the right place when your army takes over a resource and get points and XP.
Just try it! You may kick yourself for not trying it sooner and discovering the fun!
I never understood being scared of Cyrodiil. It isn't like a dungeon or trial where people suffer if you are horrible because they can't progress. Even BG has that issue. But Cyrodiil? Anyone can ride the zerg without stress. There is no pressure in Cyrodiil. If you die, so what?

It's just fear of the unknown. People are afraid to try new things and fail, or like you say, be mocked because they let the team down. But yeah, I can hardly think of anything else in the game (other than solo play) where people are NOT depending on you to perform well. If 20 players are attacking a keep, who even notices if one person gets dropped, stands around to pick flowers, whatever. I don't even look at the names of who I'm running with, I just try to do some damage and stay alive, heal where I can, find good places to set up equipment, etc. If I get taken out, no biggie, just respawn at the keep and ride back as fast as I can. I can't think of anything else in the game that makes me grin and laugh as much as swarming the keep, or fighting off attackers. It's really fun, and reminds me of the old Half Life 2 deathmatch days. It's controlled chaos, and something that so many would enjoy if they actually gave it a chance.

You don't want the event but you wear the event title that you don't want Zos to have??
I welcome the fresh meat. Ouh....Stitch cool xD

Why do you still play then? If you do not like the game anymore why do you still play?

Have it once a year. I don’t care. Fix the performance of the servers in that 365 day interval and I’m WITH IT.
NAW I don’t want the ENCORE. I got a Mayhem banner in the yard of ONE of my houses lol. I wear the Star Made Knight when I pvp so yes I wear it EVERY day.
K, so ZOS ain’t gonna fix the servers, fine. I don’t care. I’m gonna pvp anyways. But if anybody asks me if I like it, or even if I like this game anymore I’m gonna say NOPE! Lol.

So much of this thread is about you, and little about the event itself. How you did those dailies, yet in the end, you deleted the feathers, even though you spent the time to get them. That should prove something to the audience, right?
The event is not such a big deal, since there is plenty of time left for you to "pvp in peace" away from the plebs.
I get it, the game has big issues especially during such events. I play more pve, so I can go on like you do about how broken the group finder is during dungeon events. But that is so for a week at most, I can take a break from that if I don't like it so much.
I also played this summer (during the event), and the game crashed or dc'ed several times while I was in Cyrodiil. I remember a huge siege - chaos fight at Alessia, DC defending from the Pact, until the yellows came, broke down most walls and chaos started. The Covenant won (I am DC), but I disconnected because of the huge lag, and lost about 90k AP. So yes, it is annoying, but for the most players it is fun.
You sound like an elitist, who probably plays with a few high ranked buddies, and captures keeps in the morning. So yes, for you it is annoying that lots of players will disturb your routine. But your replies start to feel more like trolling, since this will happen for a few days, not for the rest of the year. Probably you should look deeper for the real reasons of your rant, which is more likely to be related to the general state of the game rather than events and mounts with feathers.
....this will happen for a few days, not for the rest of the year.

NOT doing pvp for any reason. Period.
