I kinda am excited about it. I'm slowly trying to work my way up to Rank 50 for the Skill Points and double AP will definitely help me on my way.

yes two pvp events assuming they did not just move it is nice.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

There’s going to be more events I’m afraid, all due the mount and it’s evolutions. Only 1 new berry or feather introduced with each event and needing 4 berries/feathers to evolve or acquire the mount. With 4 evolved mounts and a base, the events will keep coming & coming :/

I am still rather new to the game and haven't followed the whole story about this event. If I understand correctly, if I want berries to evolve my mount I will have to PvP? Is this for real? So if you are not in PvP, at all, you are forced into a gameplay that you despise for a feature that has nothing to do with PvP?!

Well, no. End of Q1 (so last week of March) they're going to put tickets on the Crown Store. You can buy Crowns, then buy tickets if you're short on them. But before you do that, see if the next couple of events would work better for you. I certainly will not be messing around with the pvp crap in this event. SO not my thing.

I'm excited for this event. I like midyear mayhem. Sure the lag is a bit worse but my typically empty campaign gets one week of being pop locked. Its a nice change. The OP is overreacting. I recommend taking the week off from ESO and problem solved.

But the OP ain’t known for pvdooring dead campaigns. The OP is known for setting foot in Vivec, Cyrodill as plucky lil level 10 with 3 stam pots and a heart of gold.

All the OP wants is to kill a few folks, read some hate tells, ride his mount when he ain’t in combat, and stand on a few keep walls with the cool kids in VIVEC.

What the OP DON’T want is to pvdoor and cap resources on a dead campaign. SURE the OP will kill some hapless PvE tater if he happens upon one. (The OP is HAPPY to help ANYONE take their training wheels off). However, the OP would like to get down in VIVEC. The OP IS Jump Lane and he CAME to get down!

Please note: ZOS, ol’ pal of the OP, he deleted his feathers and has no intentions of ever buying any more for CROWNS or evolving a mount.

The OP is a Star-Made Knight with all the gold jewelry he wants and millions of AP. The OP is a palatine and getting GO don’t seem grindy at all, TO HIM. The OP just wants to kill folks in Vivec without dcs and a 200+ queue.

Truly, the OP wouldn’t mind doing Mid-Year Mayhem again if it was...well...THE MIDDLE OF THE YEAR, and he’d had 365 days to get over the performance fiasco the LAST Mid-Year Mayhem event was.

Y'know Jump.... if that's the sort of action that is all in all for you, perhaps a different game would be a more ideal solution. I understand that you might like the TES vibe.... but if you're telling the truth about what you love, then the TES vibe simply isn't involved.

There are really serious pvp games out there.... ESO isn't one of them.

The uninformed should be told that there's lots of ways to earn alliance points, and you don't necessarily have to get into one on one brawls to be successful. You can run around healing your teammates and never once have to cast spells on or fight the enemy directly if you don't want to. You can repair walls and doors far away from the battle. Or you can use ballistas and trebuchets and bomb the enemy from hundreds of yards away. And you can cast special shields over your team's siege equipment to keep them from taking full damage. Plus there's enemy NPCs you can fight if you want to, instead of players. Or you can just stay out of the way and stand and watch from a distance, and be in the right place when your army takes over a resource and get points and XP.

Just try it! You may kick yourself for not trying it sooner and discovering the fun!

I never understood being scared of Cyrodiil. It isn't like a dungeon or trial where people suffer if you are horrible because they can't progress. Even BG has that issue. But Cyrodiil? Anyone can ride the zerg without stress. There is no pressure in Cyrodiil. If you die, so what?

It's just fear of the unknown. People are afraid to try new things and fail, or like you say, be mocked because they let the team down. But yeah, I can hardly think of anything else in the game (other than solo play) where people are NOT depending on you to perform well. If 20 players are attacking a keep, who even notices if one person gets dropped, stands around to pick flowers, whatever. I don't even look at the names of who I'm running with, I just try to do some damage and stay alive, heal where I can, find good places to set up equipment, etc. If I get taken out, no biggie, just respawn at the keep and ride back as fast as I can. I can't think of anything else in the game that makes me grin and laugh as much as swarming the keep, or fighting off attackers. It's really fun, and reminds me of the old Half Life 2 deathmatch days. It's controlled chaos, and something that so many would enjoy if they actually gave it a chance.

Fear? Nope. I spent months on a pvp server in WoW. I hated every minute of it. I was raiding (hated every minute of that too, btw) with a friend's guild.... he convinced me to go there to see the endgame stuff I wouldn't have otherwise. Truthfully? I could have given it a complete miss - and never missed it. But he was going to have his feelings hurt if I didn't accept that he could show me "the good times".

Eh. Whatever. I find pvp totally repugnant. I have no interest in trying to kill other players. Why? The game and the RP in the game are plenty for me. The stories are the main thing..... and there's no story to killing some other player.....

I ask myself that very question. (I mentioned that at the very start of this thread). ZOS is making it REALLY hard to want to.

I stopped being excited about events sorta in the middle of Mid Year a few months ago. I did the holloween one. Skipped clockwork. I stopped doing the Undaunted. I did the same quest in Rawlka everyday just for a mystery box for New Life. I deleted my feathers. Don’t want the mount.

Half the time it’s a miracle if you can even login. I dread updates much less new dlc’s. Cyrodill is a mess.

Yet, I find a bit of pleasure in the game when it all works. ZOS seems intent on ruining THAT.

This game is more for casuals now. Once you reach a certain point in skill and experience, everything seems designed to make you unplayable, or the game FOR you, unplayable.

It's all really lost it’s luster. ZOS announces something to get us all excited and I wait for the other shoe to drop.

Depends on what type of story interests you, I suppose. There are some hardcore RPers who take fighting for their King or Queen very seriously, and let it be known in Cyro zone chat that they don't appreciate their immersion being broken with mindless, off topic banter.

So much of this thread is about you, and little about the event itself. How you did those dailies, yet in the end, you deleted the feathers, even though you spent the time to get them. That should prove something to the audience, right?

The event is not such a big deal, since there is plenty of time left for you to "pvp in peace" away from the plebs.

I get it, the game has big issues especially during such events. I play more pve, so I can go on like you do about how broken the group finder is during dungeon events. But that is so for a week at most, I can take a break from that if I don't like it so much.

I also played this summer (during the event), and the game crashed or dc'ed several times while I was in Cyrodiil. I remember a huge siege - chaos fight at Alessia, DC defending from the Pact, until the yellows came, broke down most walls and chaos started. The Covenant won (I am DC), but I disconnected because of the huge lag, and lost about 90k AP. So yes, it is annoying, but for the most players it is fun.

You sound like an elitist, who probably plays with a few high ranked buddies, and captures keeps in the morning. So yes, for you it is annoying that lots of players will disturb your routine. But your replies start to feel more like trolling, since this will happen for a few days, not for the rest of the year. Probably you should look deeper for the real reasons of your rant, which is more likely to be related to the general state of the game rather than events and mounts with feathers.

That’s all fair enough. I do play with a few high ranking buddies but we capture resources and try to kill whoever shows up. Or I play solo and capture resources and try to kill whoever shows up. I Zerg surf sometimes and try to kill whoever. I’ll even defend keeps with a meat bag lol. I really like all aspects of PvP.

The general performance of the game is what irks me because I like it so much. Look Mayhem is fun enough. I was disappointed with it because I couldn’t play where I wanted. (VIVEC).

I’ll make the most of it. Rank up I guess. I just wish ZOS would fix their game. It’s REALLY FUN when it works. I do NOT hate ESO. I just wish PvP had better performance.

I'm curious how a pop locked campaign will run smoother at full capacity in a month than it does during the event? At least during the event you have a lot of new people standing around wondering what to do or doing town quests, rather than a bunch of Alliance War vets spamming AOEs and such.

The event is not the problem. PvP server/programming is the problem.

    Entire game is unplayable.

Crashing all the time and/or being logged out, after standing still for 10 secs to answer someone's whisper, with the apparent assumption that you must be AFK.

I’m more pleased than I was last Midyear and am happy to say I was wrong. I unno if ZOS did anything to the servers but it seems better.

NOT doing pvp for any reason. Period.

So don't PVP. No one is pointing a gun to your head and making you do it. Nobody cares if you PVP or not. Nobody. At all. However, there are others (and many) that enjoy PVP and want to PVP and are PVP-ing. Not everything is about you. Really, no one cares if you turn up in Cyrodil or not. There are many PVP-ers that feel the same way about PVE events but they dont exactly jump up and down, repeatedly proclaiming their intense dislike in every possible thread on the forum. I for one am really enjoying this event. I would not be at all upset if it was extended. I would actually be really happy if it was -- I am having a blast with the event so far. I'm seeing massive groups and taking part in epic giant battles that are just amazing.

I would have never pegged myself for any kind of pvper. It's just never appealed before. Yet, getting involved in the event and someone inviting me to a group where we went and did some things is all it took to get me hooked. I asked in Cyro if pvp is this amazing all the time, and was told it's usually dead aside from one campaign. :(

I enjoy the exposure to other parts of the game that these events bring. I didn't feel good about dungeons either until the dungeon event, but I tried it out, and it was fun.

Numerous campaigns and everyone chooses to cram into one. Self made issue it sounds like. Get your guild and a few others to swap campaigns and it should be an improvement on preformance while still finding active fights to participate in is what I would do.

But I know, vivec is where all the cool kids hang out, hope the laggy gameplay is worth it!
