Here's a way to respectfully ask the question:
"I do not understand why the Ice Nixad collectible is priced as high as it is. Would someone please explain what the rationale behind the high gem price was?"
And to answer your question, the high price point was probably because they knew it was going to be very popular to people, so they needed to raise the price cos of supply and demand.
It's like being a sales manager for, say, a hotel. If your hotel is selling a lot of rooms, pretty soon you'll either be oversold on rooms OR corporate is going to scream you're losing money for the hotel because you're not raising the room rate. As a result, you raise the price to gain more profit, which is the goal of any business: Make a profit.
It's the same story here for the Ice Nixad pet.
