No argument with you there. The pricing is definitely a bit puzzling. But I want it, and I can afford it after saving gems for most of the year so I'll buy it. If I had to buy crates today for gem fodder to get to 600 I'd undoubtedly be pissed though.0 -

✭If you don't like it, don't buy it. It's a pretty simple idea. You don't have to get every single new thing that comes into the crown store. In fact, judging from the reactions, I don't think that this mount was made for you. It was most likely made for the people sitting on more gems than they know what to do with.7 -

You've told them the complete and utter opposite. Why even waste your time coming on here to state it's "definitely not worth 600 gems" after buying it? Your entire post is a contradiction.
I couldn't even care less about it costing 600 gems as I have no intention of buying it, so I'm not even coming at you from an anti loot box angle.2 -

I definitely fall within that category. I mostly use my gems for costumes and pets and they're really cheap. So I definitely was hoarding gems. The last few seasons of apex mounts have been ass. (I'm looking at you hollowjack and reaper's harvest mounts)0 -

It is. They used to have regular "sales" that brought the prices of crowns down to what *should* be the baseline price given the cost of items in their store. But honestly? Crowns shouldn't be a thing. These fake currencies should not be a thing, and they should be outlawed. They obscure the real cost of items from the consumer, and force them to buy additional currency they cannot (or do not want to) use. There should ONLY be direct purchase, in your nation's currency, for any and all game add-ons. The fake currencies used in microtransactions are one of the most onerous things about them.7 -

✭Gambling boxes always seemed a bad idea. Should have seen (and kinda did) the writing on the wall.
It's been a slow yet steady downward spiral progression. You'll notice the opportunity for free crates has pretty much dried up. Twitch barely ever drops crates anymore. ESO+ events don't give them to subbed players. Daily rewards don't drop them (much?).
Now, we're paygating items behind what amounts to the "you've failed" side of gambling. So, even though you're not getting what you want (via the box), you're still generating currency in a walled off sector of the game. You're encouraged to gamble, and feel ok about losing.
This is all rather insidious and cringeworthy.10 -

I'm really disappointed with this as I would love to have that mount but don't have the disposable income to throw at crates to build up 600 gems. It would look lovely with the event skin but I guess my poor ass ain't worth s h i t to this company.2 -

You missed the point of the entire post.... they wanted to low key brag about buying the mount. They may have dressed it up with nice little emo meta phrases popular on the forums with the "I hate everything" crowd but really, they just wanted to let everyone know that they purchased the mount.
