This is how I feel too. I'm a new ESO player, and free stuff wasn't one of the reasons I signed up for ESO+. Heck, it wasn't even advertised as something I'd be getting. So, if ZOS wants to give me free stuff, I'll either say "That looks great, thank you!" or "That doesn't interest me much, but thank you anyway." I'm a WoW refugee, and the only thing included in Blizzard's subscription was the right to play a lousy game. ESO+ is an unmitigated win for me.

IMHO if you have ESO+ your going to get a full set of miniature statues.

I've noticed a common theme running with all these threads. OP's need that sweet, sweet crate fix!

The free crates were to get you hooked into buying more. Problem is they were giving them away so frequently that sales dropped off and now here we are. You see the same thing whenever the monthly log-in rewards are announced or any free rewards that aren't crates for that matter. It doesn't matter that they're giving away cathedrals, dlc, a mount, etc. They just want more crates.

And yeah, there's a costume too. Mazel Tov to whoever likes it but it's not my style.

It's free ffs. I swear people are getting more and more greedy. Take the free item or don't take it. They did not have to give us a free statue, they did not have to increase the crown amount. And don't give be that "part of the eso+ package crap, the free items are them simply being nice to their subs.

At last we have something tiny, not giant. If someone doesn't like new statues, he can destroy them. I'm happy to have these awesome things for my small houses. It was my deram to see smal statues added one day. And now we have them for free!

You, technically, can if they take the other "free stuff" away, that you were originally getting instead and replace it with something you don't want.

Especially if the "free stuff" isn't really free, but in fact built into the price you're paying.

No, it's not "free", and no, they are not "being nice". It's a marketing gimmick that was designed to obscure the fact that the purchasing power of crowns is about 2/3 of what it used to be three years ago.
It's like when a 300g chocolate suddenly weighs only 270g, but there's now a "free" Hello Kitty sticker in the package.

Yes, this annoys me more than it should. That's because it insults me. I can stomach a lot of mistreatment from a game I love. I can stomach bugs, downtimes, unbalanced content, poor design. One thing I can't stomach, though: when their business department starts taking me for a fool.

Since I couldn't pick insightful and awesome, I went with awesome. If "bullseye" was a choice, I'd have to go for that.

My thoughts exactly. I am feeling a whole lot less rewarded now than I was under the old scheme and I expect that things are actually going to get less, rather than more rewarding as the old scheme of just doing crates now and then didn't take any upkeep whereas making new garbage statues does. I expect this will be like the luxury vendor, not so much new stuff after the shine wears off.

Just don't make them your primary ESO+ reward. It's disappointing.

It's disappointing that the "best" they could do to give us ESO+ folks a reward is to simply shrink some statues they already have in the game. If they get through all of them I'm sure I'll enjoy some of them but the vast majority will sit unused.

I feel like this should have been the pitch for this new item:

Hey guys we really appreciate you! And we know you feel like your subscription should be worth more than it currently is! they should give people a choice statues/costumes or 1/2 crown creates its a once a month thing not like its much and good way to get people to stay sub but make it so its a choice of item or crown creates each time so its just if people dont like the eso+ reward they are forced into having it

I'm rather having a tiny statue, than yet another crown crate with poisons, food and potions I'll never use - OR, if I'm really lucky, some pet I will never use. Keep them coming.

Seriously, to those who keep parroting that these things are free, please enlighten me how i can get them for free after purchasing the base game?

I really need to hear these words of wisdom. After all, free means there is zero extra cost involved in obtaining said item or service. Zero cost. Makes no f'n sense and people spouting the word "free" really could do with picking up a dictionary and reading the definition of the word "free". If something was free after paying the initial outlay for the base game, then I'd expect it to be obtainable without paying out 1 cent more.

It's akin to saying playing online is free on both PSN and LIVE after you have paid your dues. I'm not even fussed about whether we get further trinkets or not so i have no axe to grind.

If you're into housing and want to go for a dunmer themed house it's perfectly fine. If not into housing, I agree that it's pretty useless.

We're two month in the new monthly gift for subscriber system, we've got a statuette (and Molag Bal was a pretty obvious choice) the first month and now another statuette and we'll soon get a costume (the priestess of Mara one).
It's a bit early to spot trend, I think, but anyway I doubt we'll ever get useful items through this, to prevent the inevitable host of "ZOMG, P2W, LOL!!!" threads

Yeah I figured when they said free plus crown store items it would be something like this. Not anything we would ever use. Heads up, there are plenty of daedra and aedra for them to wear this out on lol
