Queued for over 20 minutes, got Spindlecluth 1. Was happy since I knew it was an easy dungeon my lower level character would do well in and it's a fast dungeon.

Enter the dungeon. Players standing around, I start moving. In chat one word...."fungel"....then 10 seconds later "you have kicked from the group". Wasted over 20 minutes waiting, then another 15 for another queue.

I think I was in that dungeon with you. I don't like the dungeon swapping either nor the wasted time before I can queue again after dropping group.

Then i'm sorry for the outburst. I'm just frustrated since it has happened several times today.

One moment you think you'll be able to chill and play video games on your free time to relax, and next thing you know 15 min queue penalty.

A little grumbling doesn't bother me. Especially when I'm in agreement. One of the other players look liked that had disconnected as well so maybe it was better just dropping.

I think the porting out of displeasing randoms is to be expected given how the mystery box set up for this event is.

That said, I think the only courteous way to use that ability is with a pre-formed group that has decided what they want in advance.

I'm torn because I have zero interest in DLC dungeons and we do not have the ability to exclude them without cancelling ESO+ so I am basically not doing mystery boxes except for one today where I was asked to join a preformed group that clearly stated their desire to avoid DLC dungeons. We randomed into our dungeon fully prepared to 'Port to FG1' but ended up in Spindle1 so we stayed and did it since Spindle 1 is a good dungeon for the challenges I seek.

If the majority wants to go to another dungeon, go or drop.

If one player ports without a word and the rest don't want to do so, kick the odd player out.

Not sure why this is an issue - unless of course you don't have the majority, yet want to act like you are in charge.

Meh. I broke down and did two randoms, one ported to FG. Didn't care, except it took me 3 tries to port over, by which time they'd burnt through the first boss.

I am not completely certian that I follow what OP is saying....

Am I correct in understanding that you can que up for a random dungeon and then once the que pops, you zone into the random dungeon but can port to a different dungeon (in this case, FG1), complete the second dungeon, and get credit for the "random dungeon"?

    Yes!
Nice thing when random dungeon is DLC and nobody wants it.

Using the random dungeon option in the Dungeon Finder. You can select Random Normal, Random Veteran or specific dungeon options.

To me the craziest thing is that the only reason I can see behind making everyone use the GF is so that it's not an fg1 event. So they break the game by sending everyone to use the same function at the same time. (sort of a ddos suicide) Then when gf functions properly the players remove the random function by simply porting out so that they CAN make it an fg1 event.

ZoS should have simply let us walk into the dungeons and kill the final bosses for the rewards to begin with.

This. This is what they should've allowed rather than to force the daily on a group finder.

That way, we wouldn't have the resentment thrown at this event.

Meanwhile, I'm still just waiting for FG1 to become a meme. lol.

People just have no sense of common courtesy.

If you want to use the FG loophole, fine--do it with a 4-man premade where everyone is after the same thing.

Don't pull that nonsense if don't queue with a 4-man premade unless the strangers that got placed with you agree on wanting the same thing.

I had at least 20% of my random group finder groups not communicate wanting FG1 (despite tp-ing straight into FG1) so... Experience differs.

I mean, I'm not against this but I don't condone it either, you get me? I understand that people want to get the daily over with to get what they want and then just leave to do other things in the game or then just live their lives; there's nothing wrong with that. I just wish that ZoS actually thought of this so this could have been avoided entirely.

I for one queue into DF with a preformed group, or at least 3, then look for a DPS or Healer. We never wait long and usually it works out well. Sometimes we do get fake Healers but we're strong enough to carry/cover the lack. Everyone has to learn at some point, gain experience and learn from others.

A "fast dungeon" is a rare thing, and really inconsiderate to expect in the GF - I LIKE the stories (most of them lol) and find the random dungeons interesting. But running with a random group who just want to smash everything and get to the prize with or without the rest of group is REALLY annoying. Yesterday I grouped with some ppl from guild who I didn't know.
They suggested immediately switching to FG1 and I didn't really care so.. we did. We enter the dungeon, kill the first group, then the tank jumps in the river, swims straight to final boss and BOOM dungeon over. It couldn't have taken 5 minutes. Ok... disappointing to say the least. I know now not to group with unknowns during events like this because there are too many people who simply want the end prize. Ok, lesson learned lol

Yes, I too wanted the final prize but … I LIKE the experience of the dungeons. Rushing through it in that way is a real let down. Just sayin'

Blame ZOS for giving equal rewards for unequal efforts. If they had scaled the prizes to match the difficulty of the dungeon, this wouldn’t be an issue.

I'll be honest, I used the loophole last night. I got randomed into MHK. The tank was new, the DPS were squishy, and I was on a healer... I am not an exceptional healer.

So, after about six wipes without progress, we talked about it, and went to Elden I, so they could get their clears and box. But, this was after they'd been pounding on that boss, I don't know how many times, and it was pretty clear that MHK was beyond their skills.

To be fair, I've also run MHK during this event with randos. I ran BRF with my significant other tanking (she does not tank much anymore), I think I got Falk first day of the event.

I'm not afraid of the DLC dungeons, but I understand that not everyone's ready for that. So, having an out without punishing everyone isn't terrible, however, this, "port to FG1 or kick," crap needs to be dealt with. Even if that means shutting down the system. Spend 15 minutes pounding against boss, re-queue.

I still think the simplest answer is, bring a buddy, kick anyone who tries to jump to FG1. If everyone wants to, cool, whatever, but if it's one guy going, "let's jump over to this?" No, **** 'em.

Oh I don't know... I think it's nice that lower levels or less experienced/finely tuned players can still get nice rewards. I believe the problem is that too many people are all about themselves and couldn't care less that new/less effective players want to have fun and earn great prizes, too. They seem forget that once they were new/less effective, too.

As I wrote, now I know better than to group with unknowns during an event structured this way lol. No big huge deal - I still got the Mystery Box, event tickets and some XP...I just didn't get to loot or enjoy the experience. Lesson learned :)

I think ZOS has done an amazing job with this game! The 3 of us in our household have been playing since Beta release what, 4 years ago? The IT skills that ZOS has employed is mind blowing. Constantly making upgrades, introducing new content, trying so hard to keep up with demand... I could go on and on...lol

    I love this game!

From what I've seen in other threads on this topic, you're gonna get a whole lot of people trying to make you the bad guy here, OP.

They're wrong. You're doing it right. They're subverting the intent of the system for their own convenience. They're exploiting.

I've even done this once myself now. It was FH, the group wanted to do FG1, and I definitely wasn't going to have a fight with the group after a 40 minute queue over a dungeon I don't even find enjoyable. I don't feel bad about it, but I'm not gonna try to pretend we didn't exploit.

But if someone had needed FH, I would absolutely have pushed for doing it.

I am neither for or against during the box event. If we run the one we landed in, great that's fine I get my box. If they all want to port for speed run for box, that fine too as I still get my box. I can see how it can be frustrating but so far all my runs are with premade group of 4 or if random they asked if anyone needed the area of if can port for speed box run.

I confess I didn't read all the posts but going back t do so now as I am curious of these things
1.) why farming on normal and 2.) why did it take you 10min. With the jump FG1 is 5 minutes or less which is why most do it, so they can get through receiving boxes on 15 characters and go about their normal gaming

The real question is, is this considered an exploit? Will there be ramifications for those that made use of it? It certainly is a method of working around the intention of the event and still reaping the reward.

Drop set pieces. Preferably weapons and armor, though jewelry can be upgraded now, it's just slightly more onerous.

So, if you need Sanctuary pieces, for example, it's way easier to just run BC1 on normal a ton of times, and upgrade. Similarly, for a lot of players, if they wanted something like Spell Power Cure, or Vicious Ophidian, running content on normal is the way they can farm it.
