Remember when daily log in rewards weren't even a thing. Nobody cared.
Now they're a thing and people expect too much and become more greedy. They don't offer crown crates. So what. Think back before when you didn't get any anyway. smh.
"Only the Aldmeri—the High Elves and their noble allies, the Wood Elves and Cat-Men—have the wisdom and restraint to peaceably rule the disparate peoples of Tamriel. [...] Men always follow the destructive path of their defender and apologist, the Missing God whom we shall not name. [...] The world has gone wrong, and we must put it right. March proudly beneath the eagle banner of the Aldmeri Dominion! "

You need to calm all the way down. I was only joking, If you didn't notice the "LOL" at the end there? You come off as an addict. In any other context we would be planning your intervention. LOL
I do not. I come off as someone who doesn't like being told how to spend my money, that I work my ass off to get.
I enjoy the surprise of crates and I like the collectables and I cash in what I don't want for gems to buy what I do want.
If I like to open some crates and maybe get a thing or maybe not (I never depend on getting anything FANCY) then why is it anyone else's business?
If anything, I'd think people would be glad that likely about 10% of us pay for all their freeloading no sub gaming time.
I am just staunchly against anyone telling anyone else what they can and cannot enjoy with their own time and money.
Edited to add: not like we’re all ‘everyone must buy sub or all dlcs or gtfo, and that is NOT fair for people to be able to tell people to spend what they don’t want to in a game; any more than it is fair for anyone to try and police what people DO spend.

I knew it! My prediction was right! Free crates are being replaced by craps that we don't like but instead craps that aims to please new players.
They gave with one hand but take away with the other. Bye bye free crates log in rewards, bye bye free 6 crates ESO+. #Nomorefreegems

Everyone just got Murkmire for FREE. smh

It's a game, if you don't like it don't play it, you shouldn't think of it as a chore to do certain tasks

If the FTC bans loot crates, what direction do you think ZoS will go to make up for the lost revenue?
More crown store items at a higher price, my prediction. Or fixing game issues and making an overall better game to attract new and retain current players.

Are you lost child?
This is simply a thread for farewell free crates.TheRealPotoroo wrote: »Meh, stuff crates. This month there's 18k of AP on offer, which is a lot of painful time in PVP I don't have to put in to get Vigor for my characters.
You're joking right? This is just 2 matches of battlegrounds for 20-30 min.
You can't please everyone all the time. And inevitably, displeased someones will complain.
I seem to recall that when ZOS announced the logon rewards, they said that each month would be different so that everybody would eventually get the kind of stuff they like, and in general there would be a variety of things to try out whether it was favorite stuff or not.
In general, most of the items are the kind of utility and consumable things that come in the Crown crates anyway, just without any RNG attached if it's a specific item. Once or twice a month, one of the better non-utility/non-consumable items comes up, RNG-free. Having crates just offers up some RNG chances for something better than consumables or utility items, FOR FREE. The rest of the time, it's mostly the various in-game currencies. Everybody can make use of them at some point.
About the only thing I never seem to find a use for is poisons -- I don't make use of that in my builds (at least not so far). I've deleted them if they pile up in inventory too much. But other folks probably find them helpful, so no worries. Before the rewards, I never used potions much. But with all the tri-potions piling up, I've found them useful, especially while tweaking a squishy character. And they tend to add up faster than I can use them, so it's turned out to be convenient -- and something I wouldn't have tried without being introduced to it with the rewards.
Giving away Murkmire didn't have to happen. (Yes, some may feel that Murkmire might have fallen short as a standalone DLC and would need to be sold at a reduced price, but still -- it didn't have to be free, not at all.) It's darn nice to give it for free to active players. ZOS definitely didn't have to do that, an I'm thankful they did.
I could survive just fine in the game without the freebies. But since I log on virtually every day anyway to do horse training / run something with guildies / just chill in Tamriel, it's no trouble at all to click a button and collect something that might be helpful or fun. And changing the lineup every month is nice, really. More variety.
It's free. Just enjoy it for what it is.
Optimistically, they are being general with the rewards this month because people have lives during the "holiday" season and they'd rather we actually spend time with live human beings than worry about daily log-ons to a video game.
that's like a drug dealer, or, bookie saying they'd rather you spend your money on gifts for your friends and family...

Yeah we do.There is no reason to even give cheap poisons and potions. They can easily provide better things than 90% of this bs.

Oh, don't worry. They complain about free things on plenty of other gaming forums.
