Bye bye Free Crates

For years we got nothing from logging in and I was ok with that. If they want to give me free crap for doing what I'm doing anyway, I'm fine with that. I dont understand the complaints about free stuff.

I've been paying ESO Plus since day one, started playing in beta, These things were never part of that deal or any other change they made since. When the game went away from subs and i chose to continue to pay ESO plus I did it in exchange for what they were offering me at that time. This stuff here... IS FREE, by a long shot.

I'm not going to say get a PC. But I will point out the TWITCH drop crates are not the same as the regular crates. The ones you get from login rewards are what come from the crown store and are nice. The ones from twitch are stripped down, they are quite poor in what they give out. "They contain only common and fine tier items (Crown Poisons, Mimic Stones, Riding Lessons, or Experience Scrolls) and an extremely rare chance at a mount and a pet that are exclusive to this crate only. "

I get that it still isn't quite equal but I would argue that Ive seen multiple times where they have said if you are on Console and log on to the game directly after one of their shows that you get the twitch crates too. I don't think they are keeping consoles out of drops because they are cruel. It seems to be some kind of problem implementing it for consoles. What could they possible stand to gain by keeping them from you on purpose.

I usually spend most of my time here whining at issues and would agree with this thread too normally, but it's Glowgill Guar month so I'll pass.

To the people calling this stuff trash : you should be hoping the Guar Gods aren't angry with you.

Glowgill Guars > Crates.

The folks at ZOS have families too. Not a hard stretch to think that others people with families think family first.

I’m still waiting for the "free dog and crates” that Zios announced since OCTOBER

Man, at least let us turn them into gems or something, I have four stacks of those dumb potions and food just sitting in my back not being used. Even the EXP scrolls are getting useless at this point and for 9 trait crafters those research scrolls are straight trash.

TBH I only both with "working" to get them up to the point of the good stuff, then if I don't plan to log in I don't bother.

TBH I think Fallout 76 nailed daily log in rewards as they give you the premium currency and you actually have to do tasks to get it. I find it much more engaging to log into FO76 and "kill 10 ghouls whilst intoxicated" than I do logging into ESO to click a button then ALT+F4 to go play Fallout if I don't have ESO plans for the evening.

I’m looking forward to guar mount looks great and my first ever guar. but I do miss the crown crates as none from login rewards new crate season free ones or eso plus free ones so three 3 lots not been had or 1 crown crate to let me get the 3 gems I need to get the magma scamp I really Need :'(

I'm just sad that they are not doing the Twitch crates anymore with crown purchase thru Twitch. I have the special mount and I was REALLY hoping to get the matching cub/pet.

I always kind of assumed the free crates existed to NOT tempt me to buy, given I've only ever got useless crap from them.

They were way too generous with the crates before. I got 2x Apex mounts and 2x Legendary mounts from mine, plus 400 gems to spend on another Apex mount.

You could save up for 1-2 Apex mounts a year at the rate they were giving crates away at before. There was no incentive to actually buy the crates.

I've never bought a crate and never will, but just pointing out the reason why we don't see them anymore: it doesn't make business sense.

I will miss the little thrill I get from opening crates, but am happy with a guaranteed mount and some hats that look nice.

It's true that I haven't bought crates since they started giving them away frequently, so that might be a reason, but it's just one month so far so we really don't know.

Firstly, you were extremely lucky then. Like, go out and get yourself some lottery tickets right now lucky.

As far as incentive is concerned, there's still plenty of that. For one thing, the mount you want probably won't be available by the time you've saved up the gems off of free crates, meaning you'll have to wait for it to show up again, during which time something else might come up that will eat your gems. Also, you may want more than one of those apex mounts. Not to mention any of the other miscellaneous items that peak your interest.

Interesting about FO76 rewards. That is what I was expecting ESO rewards to be, rather than just a login event. ZOS got what they wanted,though. They wanted an excuse to put the full screen Crown Store ad up. I think that is what they are still showing. I don't actually see the full screen ad.

However, I do disagree about going off to play FO76. (implied) I am guessing that is not the usual thing to play. Personally, I am playing Fallout 3. Finished up some Skyrim play a few days back. No reason to pay Bethesda to play the buggy FO76 game when I already have some buggy Bethesda games I can play.

Eh, I don't play the FOs at all. I grew up in the era when we were taught not only how to duck and cover in school, we were also shown horrific movies of what would happen in the aftermath of a nuclear attack.

Sorry, but even all these decades later, I don't find the premise behind the FOs fun at all. Since I don't play games that aren't fun for me for whatever reason, no one gets money from me for the FOs.
