People need to keep in mind that the discount for the mount isn't going to be any where near the amount people are paying for their sub. On a 4000 crown mount, they probably aren't going to give subs a 1000 crown discount.

All the discount is there for is to sound good to people who like crown store cosmetics and to save you a few dollars if you have an interest in that particular item. No doubt, they are also hoping for some impulse buys from people who want to buy it while they can save a few dollars instead of buying it down the line at full price. A lot of people are easy to manipulate that way.

For new stuff, it'd be a steeper discount to get people's attention. I'm sure some people have been waiting for this, but for anyone who was on the fence about this mount... yeah, not thrilled.

Returning items would be worse. Although this current offering is a joke or more to the point, the discount on offer, the items have to be something no subscriber has. Otherwise they risk making this an even more useless addition for many subscribers than it already is.

I am a very casual player, only 2 characters, i am not crafter, i am not a collector, i do not have a house, i am happy with my brown horse.

I do not care about the ESO+ exclusives, If i could give away the statue i would donate it to the weekly raffle of my guild because i have no plans to claim the statue, i still buy ESO + because i like the game and i support it.

But if this is the way to show your appreciation to the most loyal and passionate clients, it sucks.

I really don't see any issues.

I've always considered crown store prices to be high, especially if I compare to other games for equivalent offerings. It just means that I have to be extremely picky over what I'll buy.

The crown store is too expensive for impulse purchases which is a shame so the ESO plus offerings are well...... consistent with that.

From my perspective they must find plenty of suckers to not drop the base prices so I see little point in complaining.

Still, if they want me to offload crowns so I need to buy more its simply a case of must do better. The ball is in their half of the court.

The issue is that the new ‘benefit’ for paying subscribers is a poorly disguised cash grab for more money. The discount is near nonexistent and the price is way more than a dlc. I’m insulted that Zos lists this as a benefit.

I agree, aside from being insulted. I don't find it an insult. A wasted opportunity for them, yes, but then they have some crazy thing going on where they have to sell stuff really expensive and, once they decide on a price, are really reluctant to let go of it for anything less than that. I'm sure it is a combination of Whale Watching and setting high prices to avoid having the item in the game used by everyone online as far as the eye can see.

In this particular case, it was not a good plan to characterize this as any sort of a special deal for ESO Plus members. This will not stop them from repeating this a couple more times before they decide to change tactics.

I'm fine with prices being much higher than I think is reasonable, because it makes it that unlikely I will buy something I'm not 110% sure is worth enjoying long term. Same with the discount...when I see 10% off sale signs in store windows, I walk on by. So, the discount isn't enticing me to buy anything I wouldn't already buy without the discount.

Having said that, I sub primarily for the crafting bag and to support the game. I didn't have any expectations to be disappointed about.

I'm worried this is the beginning of the end for this game. They've done a very poor job of marketing to incentivize people to spend money in the game. I totally realize they need to make an income but if this is the way theyre resorting to get it.... it may not be long before we see the end. A cobbled together cash grab seems like desperation. I worry.

Well as for me I was disappointed enough to clear my bank stash, clear my storage in housing, counting if I will have enough place for all type of mats (will have yay), cancelled sub.

The performance of servers recently is very bad (random kicks to login screen, sudden dc's, cannot login to server issues, ping jumping 60-900+ ms, FPS drop to 14 in cyrodil), so called balance changes are just plain stupid - if you go into BG you will see that pro players are all Heavy Armor tanks with a way to get damage shield bubbles and are pretty much immortal until you fight 4 vs 1 you have a chance (before Nerfmire I did well with Light Armor Mag DK build now Light Armor is just so so bad).
Also having ESO + just for the craftbag and furnishing space is kinda not very tempting - furnishing mats require 2 much grind and some recipes are insane to get (like CWC ones), Dungeons are boring due to them being DPS race (healers got no use also as they cannot protect from those 1 shot mechanics so it is easier if everyone just equips self heal sadly, the so called DLC story and side quests from Murkmire took me idk maybe 6-7 days (reading dialogues, reading all notes/books also) and we PvE players get only 2 story based dlc's / year (not so much for me).

To sum it up: I would very much like no bonus crowns/"no special discounts/offers" like telemarketers offer us, instead focus on improving what we already have. Stop doing any new DLC's / crown store items for like 6 months and focus on making global fixes and actually balance the things out properly is what I would do, otherwise game will simply rot and die.

Seriously.

The statue? Awesome idea. Small things like that scattered about once or twice a month, sure.

But to remove something of value that they had already given us and replacing that with a “perk” that we have to pay for is ridiculous.

50% off would have been better. I still wouldn’t have purchased it, but it would have been less of a slap in the face.

For me it’s not so much that I feel we deserve free crates. It’s that it was a set precedent that they changed to be of less value (whats the math on even successfully getting three crates vs. 10% off the spider?) and hypped up to be something better.

Sorry ZoS, usually in your corner on this stuff, but in my opinion, this was a swing and a miss.

Feels like they want to grab as much money as they can before closing... seen it happen 2 many times in other mmo games.

3600 Crowns for an ESO+ Exclusive Mount that is a reskin and will probably be released next year as even better reskin again is just rediculous for me. I would feel like agreeing to be stupid by buying it.

We could be getting 20% off of 4500, too. People are not considering that, likely because 20% off a 4500 Dwemer spider mount is just as "absurd" as 10% off a 4000 mount. I would not put it past them to attempt the Great Reindeer Debacle again. (Unlike the studio policy of not recoloring costumes that are already out, they don't seem to have a studio policy against repeating pricing mistakes)
