Indrik Mount

I was thinking about this the other day, and what you need to do to get the feathers needed to get the mount. The next feather we need is doing Clockwork City quests. Do the devs ever think of the players who can't afford eso + or the dlc needed to get these feathers. I am ok because I bought the dlc and have recently become a eso+ subscriber as well, but I know a good few players that aren't in the same position as me and not able to work towards getting the mount. I think it a little unfair that because they can't afford eso+ or buy the dlc they won't be able to get the mount. Or is there something in place where they can get the mount ?

Eso Plus is having a period where any player can try it for free. That will grant everyone access to the Clockwork City.

Please consider these before you write
    a) even when you completely omit participation in Clockwork event, you will have enough tickets for four feathers
    b) there will be free ESO+ event when the Clockwork event is on.

Do you think the Game would still exist if everybody buys only the Standard Game Edition?

The devs are several steps ahead of you on this one.

The feathers from previous events can still be bought during future events says the article. With the Undaunted event giving THREE tickets per day, those unable to participate in the CWC event for whatever reason can easily catch up.

    - There's enough events/feathers to collect even if you miss one event entirely ;
    - There's an "ESO+" free trial event
    - The DLC is discounted during the event

I sure can understand people with financial restrictions and I will never judge that, BUT on the other hand, if all the above is not enough, then they should consider living without the indrik mount - it's not hard.

I'm glad to hear that. I just got back into ESO and missed the last holiday event so I have no tickets. I calculated that I would have to do every event every single day from Clockwork to New Life to get it. Didn't know about the three tickets! Thanks!!

If someone can’t afford a DLC, they’re either a kid who shouldn’t be playing an M-rated game in the first place, or someone who really shouldn’t be wasting what little money they have on online gaming. That may sound harsh, but it’s true. DLCs in this game are very cheap, and always go on sale during DLC anniversary events.

I was only going on what some players were saying and only posted because I felt bad for them, I should have looked more into it and like someone put, mounts aren't that important in the grand scheme of things.

The DLC will also be on sale during the event.

I don't have it yet, because I haven't gotten through all the content I do have so I didn't see the point in buying it yet, but I might get it during the event since it'll be cheaper.

I don't understand why people always jump from one extreme to the other with this - as if the only reason to choose not to buy an optional stand-alone DLC is because you cannot afford to spend that much money at all, and then declare that those people should not be playing the game they've already got and can play at no additional cost as if that makes any sense at all.

I was responding to the OP, who said, and I quote, “do the devs ever think of the players who can’t afford ESO plus or the DLC?” No jumping to extremes about what people “choose” to do with their money. If someone literally cannot afford a DLC — even when it goes on sale — then they probably shouldn’t be wasting money on online games in the first place.

I wish people would think before asking for free stuff permanently especially on a game that SHOULD HAD KEPT ITS MANDATORY 15$/month subscription instead of going b2p and this was made only cuz they expanded ESO to consoles and look how that turned out...back on topic...you people are ungrateful children who keep getting free candies all the time yes you always complain you get nothing...how about you go work for free instead and have others demand more of you for free? would you like that? same thing applies here since THEY work for US to have a good time( or waste our life)

I think it a little unfair that because they can't afford eso+ or buy the dlc they won't be able to get the mount.

Players who don't have DLCs have much worse problems than not getting the cosmetic Indrik mount at the same time as subscribers/DLC owners would: they can't have armor sets which can be only obtained in DLC dungeons, for example ;) They can't have awesome passives from Dark Brotherhood, can't have Warden class, can't have Psijic skill line (next year it will be DLC anyway)...

Also, even subscribers/DLC owners can be absent during some days of events and thus not gather all feathers as fast as people who participated in event each day.
I personally want Black Indrik and thus don't care about any other colors; I will have to wait very long time before I can evolve my basic Indrik - we can't store more than 12 tickets, so once I have my Nascent Indrik and 12 more tickets in storage, I will not have reasons to participate in any more events until they introduce a first berry needed for Black Indrik evolution.

Developers did rather nicely with all this Indrik grind.
When we saw pictures of these mounts in datamines, we thought Indriks will be crown store exclusives at outrageous prices of 4k + crowns (somebody even feared that it will be Radiant Rewards in crates), but we were all wrong - everyone will be able to get this mount for free, some will just have it sooner than others.
They did nicely with very convenient free ESO+ event during the CWC event... Everything is so nice! They only spat in the face to actual subscribers this time, leaving us without our little free crown crates package as something special for being subscribers at the period while everyone in the game has subscription for free :)
But we can get FREE (I love how this is written in caps in the article dedicated to our "awesome" upcoming benefits, makes me smile even in my righteous anger :D ) tiny furnishing statue of Molag Bal, prince of slavery and domination - to remind us that we are slaves of craft bag and thus will probably keep subscribing anyway. Very fair replacement for possible cool mount/costume/pet and many gems from those free crates which we could get!

I didn't have any problems with such free trials in the past (in fact I absolutely loved them for crates) and this time I would also be glad that non-subscribers can also earn tickets during this event - but only if real subscribers actually got something nice during it as well.
