Honoring Our Fallen Comrades

So- I was on Reddit and I saw a post about a grave stone in the middle of Auridon. Rumor has it that it was in memory of a player who died. Other people mentioned that there's other "memorials" throughout Tamriel in recognition of other players who have passed away as well (ie: a sheep in Stormhaven). Do you know of any locations? I'd like to visit them since Dia de los Muertos is coming up. It's just my way of honoring other gamers.

Please- don't mention the actual player's name, though.

There is a grave guarded by a loyal dog in Alikir. North Central area by a POI. Not sure if it is an homage to a fallen player, or an homage to the legends of pets standing vigil at their owners grave. There is a really nice lore book at this location. Brought a tear to my eye when I read it.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    @Nestor

I know exactly the one that you're talking about. However, I believe that grave has been in game since it was first released.

The particular grave I mentioned in my original post supposedly wasn't added until roughly 2017. It also has a very unique look to it:

    And the plaque reads:

    What an honor if true.

@Nestor This is the one you're talking about. It's a POI- but still, it's a tearjerker indeed. I don't think it's a memorial to a fallen player, though.

    The nearby book reads:

And the dog at the gravestone:

Yep my wife happend upon that a few days ago, it had a very strong emotional effect...she wanted to adopt the dog, it would have been cool if it was connected to a quest chain with that as a reward.

When I played Everquest Online Adventures on the ps2, there was a kind player that passed away in a car accident. The devs did something similar (if this is the case), put a memorial up in one of the towns. One of the coolest things I've ever seen any devs do.

There's a broken statue on the east coast of Glenumbra (I think), about 1/3 of the way from the top of the map, IIRC.
From memory, It relates to a couple who drowned at sea.

I can't be sure as it was over a year ago. I asked in my guild at the time and no-one else was aware of it.

Again... I'm not sure if all of these are actually for players or family members of developers. It could just be for random lore. But, I'll go, anyway.

@D0PAMINE - I saw that, too. I believe the first memorial I posted is a result of that. I could be wrong, though.

It's toward the ocean outside the camp just off the bridge that heads into the Dominion troops, below Farwatch Wayshrine (I think that's what it's called, not in game right now).

It really would be nice if we could get markers with the names of our dear friends and loved ones that are no longer in the game that they loved so much. Something to keep at our guildhalls or houses~ o:)

FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.
    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Example: There were hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith in Star Wars. The Jedi wanted, "Balance in the Force" and they got it. Now there are only two Jedi and two Sith.

    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

I'm getting to an age where I can't tell a decent story because I can't remember half the details, but maybe this will ring a bell for someone else...

Isn't there a peaceful senche (or lion?) quietly laying on a cliff somewhere in Cyrodiil that was rumored to be a memorial for a fallen player? I remember riding past it a number of times and finally having to stop and check it out, because it was so out of place. But now I can't remember where it was- maybe there's a rickety bridge nearby? (I know, a lot to go on...)

Hopefully someone will know what I'm talking about.

In GW2, the game contains several tributes to fallen players. For example, one of the WvW server (world), Sanctum of Rall, is named in tribute to someone. And there are other tributes in different ways inside the game. I believe that generally, all MMORPGs support such tributes in one way or another.

most likely yes but it does happen in games. Erik the Slayer from Skyrim was created in memory of a forum member who died of cancer.
What I always wondered is how do the devs even find out about player deaths? Nobody in eso knows my real name and I know if I died my family wouldn't say anything about this game that I play nearly every day.
