Housing ideas: More stuff to do in homes

I thought that in homes beside decorating, target dummies, use of crafting stations and mundus we pretty much have nothing to do inside homes so my idea is to make it possible to for example:
1. Add purchasable fishing holes to homes - you would be able to fish only white fish (no achievement ones) from the homes - your private spot for relaxing and fishing without worry of being attacked. Or at least animated fishes for the lakes/ponds/oceans so that they do not look so empty.
2. We have plenty of furniture that is supposed to be a game (Hlaalu gaming table foxes and felines, Alinor Gaming Table, Punctilious Conflict) so why not make those mini-games be usable items to play with either NPC or friends? Maybe even make a global tournament or something.
3. As much as I like the idea of music boxes, we need to have our huge homes brimming with more life and living beings we can speak to, I would love Bard for example that can be placed and we can talk to + choose a song he/she sings (please make both male and female Bards)
4. NPC that walks randomly over inside of our houses and just sweeps dust, and when we interract with it she/he makes some jokes or complains how tough the job is and we could give her a raise.
5. We need stablemasters at our homes, I bet everyone would love to see it happen.

Edit:

6. Got recently very into fishing and I can say some fishes are way harder to catch than making vet dungs, would be nice to see the blue/purple quality achiev fish to have become trophy racks much like normal bosses heads are. I would love to place fishing trophy in some kind of fisherman hut.
7. All pots should have option to be filled with earth, so that our plants actually are in some soil, not hanging in the air. Wrote that as an option so that players who use them, without any soil for other purpose would not be mad by having their projects ruined.
8. Would be interesting to see achievement boats for different races along with master fisher achiev, for example if you do it with Dunmer, you get also to buy twice as much pricy "Dark Elfish" boat. that would also be interesting to see as there are 10 races playable.
An example:
43431481_2132302780185311_3480226113211334656_o.jpg?_nc_cat=101&oh=8e00050139d3b65eab5c587dea4203f3&oe=5C18F075

9. We need more sandbox style furnishings not just alinor, I would love to play around with Dark Elves style for example like we can with Alinor furnishings.
10. Water inside Common Trough, Hay Stack (without blankets, covers, crates etc. just a simple hay stack piled in 1 place). Also beside the hay stack some basic craftable fence would be nice like in picture below.
43377449_2132302350185354_5991709218799878144_o.jpg?_nc_cat=101&oh=137982ec7552be7d57080b9b9dd30cd1&oe=5C49D749

11. Weapon and armor racks, we could use known styles to place weapons/armors in our homes in said styles, also some kind of forge furnishing so we can make a blacksmith home and there is no blacksmith without a forge, I mean we got so many tools for blacksmithing already, adding one or 2 won't be a problem ha ha.
12. We have now around 350 books readable and available to place at homes (+/- 10 books, could be wrong but I tried to count them and it seemed endless to start counting again to confirm it), would be nice to not use housing space to place a book, also would be lovely to have the ability to slot books in bookshelves with 1 click instead of trying to align every single one of them, book collections from mages guild for example should come with ability to place whole row of them (if you do not "unpack them") or if you do open container you can slot 1 by 1.
13. We should have more space, the idea my friend suggested to me was make for homes which have gardens/2nd buildings (like Serenity Falls estate for example) have 700 slot for the interior of the home and 700 for the garden so in total we would have 1400 items to play around with but 700 in the homes mansion and 700 in the garden.
14. We need more luxury vendor statues or achievement statues, what I mean is for every race we have in game we should have acces to some "normal" statues of warriors (for example Redguards do have warrior/battlemage statues), same for fountains, here are examples of what I have in mind and I would really love Sotha Sil statue we see in clockwork city (sorry I always show in Dark Elf style most of the time but it is my beloved race btw so deal with it ^^) WE HAVE IT NOW
15. We should be able to decon our unused furnitures. Honestly I have placed a lot items in 1 of the homes I have just so I can store them, would be nice to get back some of the mats from those we have no use anymore.
16. Items like cupboards for example should auto-detect flat surface of walls and be able to be glued to them with 1 click, as of now we need to work quite hard so that it is perfectly aligned to surface - not to deep inside wall and not to much from it so that there is no visible slit (surface drag on does not work well).

17 Would love to see us being able to place multiple same named pets/mounts/collectibles in homes instead of just 1 collectible with same name. For example you have betty baby netch pet, you can place it as many times as you want as long as you got slots for it.

Items from game My Wishlist ;-)
Different Quill and inkwell, as you can see we can loot it and sell it to fence but why not make it a furnishing items scholars/magicians drop? It looks better than the standard inkwell and quill we can craft if you ask me or just make it a new recipe.

Update to the armor racks wish, how I see it in future for us and why not make it possible to also slot costumes on the racks??

I love the idea of NPC hirelings, as long as they keep quiet unless spoken to. I would hate to hear the same phrases for years to come. Homes definitely need more incentive for people to visit, mini games would help. I think i have heard something about gardening to come?

4 I would like to add a NPC "old lady duel welding rolling pins" that chases down player's that turn off you lights

    5 Agree with that 100%

I would also like to be able to pick up and drop off daily writs

    Stablemaster? Yes please.

    Fishing hole? YES please.

One thing I would add, however? Weather control. Nothing would please me more than to have the ability to make it rain and just relax under a homemade canopy. Like I've done IRL! <3
Also, I always play an Argonian. So it makes sense for me to want to stay moist. XP

You know there is option now called Limited Visitor to not allow players turning on/off lights? Go to your home settings and change the default rights.

The stablemaster could come with stack of hay, and he/she would go from spot A to spot B and doing something with the stack of hay much like Stablemaster in Craglorns Belkarth does.

Edit: new idea about fishing achiev.

I was decorating last night, and thought, it would be cool to have armor stands. I have a character where Blacksmithing is his thing, and I want him to craft (IMO) the Best Armor, wear it to battle, then put them on display.

How come pets can't roam the house with you? I thought If you had a Non combat Pet and you summoned them out they would follow you everywhere? Like the Eternal Guardian does a Warden but when I enter my house It disappears back into my slots like a Pokemon.

Love the idea of Music Boxes.

NPCs I would love, It would work for when I purchase one of my bigger Estate goals.
And maybe you could go thought Tamriel and "Hire" the NPC you want.

To me a Stable Master, maybe a Chef, Clothier, Banker Fence.

I like the idea of trophy fish, I'd love those. But then there'd be the issue of them probably being achievement-tied special furnishings which would limit the already limited category. unless they just made the items themselves placable. Maybe a new merchant that can convert any green/blue/purple fish into a mounted one?

I also had the idea that, when digging up chests and such, you could have a chance at receiving mounds of dirt as furnishings. Several sizes for all different pot types.

    1. Sure why not.
    2. Absolutely.
    3. Yes, but leave both options available.
    4. Would make the homes feel more alive.
    5. I can see the negatives in this as ZOS still wants people to visit the cities, but there’s still enough to do in the cities like crafting writs and guild bank access that we should be able to have the stablemaster.
    6. Not just fish. Any collectable you get should become a furnishing if you’d like.
    7. Don’t care either way for this one.
    8. See 7.
    9. Absolutely, I think they’ll be added in time anyway.
    10. Yeah sure.
    11. This is a must. I would love to display some high end weapons around my house on racks or some of my retired armour on armour dummies.

    Here’s a couple more:

    1. The ability to place your alt characters around your home. I’d rather they move around and interact with the environment (for example: my Sorc has his head buried in some books near my book case, my DK practicing on a dummy outside) that might be a bit too ambitious so I’d settle for them just standing around like the merchant and banker. Another thing about this one and THIS IS A MUST, we need to be able to trade gear directly with them. Would be a massively welcome quality of life upgrade for inventory management.
    2. Do away with the restrictions of different types of furnishings like collectable furnishings limits etc. if I want to put up another awesome undaunted bust in my house at the expense of another friggin chair, I should be able too.

These are all fantastic ideas. All of these ideas have been things I've also been wanting.

I'd like to add how I'd like to see Armor/Weapon Stands set up... In order to get the most use out of them, I think they would be amazing set up so if you "Used" them, they'd swap out whatever gear they had with whatever gear you were wearing - armor, weapons, jewelry, the works.

Set up this way, they'd be amazingly useful for quickly changing out your gear sets. So you buy one and place it; its empty at first, of course. You use it the first time and all of your gear moves to it, leaving you naked. After that, you can easily swap out your gear.

Essentially, it would take the place of the Dressingroom Add-on without needing to use any add-on or lug around the extra gear in your inventory. Just go home and click it to change.

I would also like to see variants of the large and small storage chests added. They'd hold more items, but only of very specific item types: Potion Case for potions, Larder for food, Scroll Case for treasure and survey maps, etc. They'd go a long ways to helping us organize our possessions, but not in an OP way as they'd only work for specific items.

Pirharri, Tythis and Nuzhimeh are getting lonely so why not add a bunch more followers? Followers are fantastic because they can provide services for you both in your home and out in the field.
    • Stablemaster: Do your 1/day horse upgrade anywhere. As it would need a bit more to be worth buying, why not also give you a slight boost to mounted speed while he's out? No worry about it being OP in PVP as followers can't go to Cyrodiil or BGs.
    • Fisherman: Counts as a fishing buddy to help you find those rares faster. Can purchase bait from him, or have him find a little bit of bait per day that he can give you for free.
    • Blacksmith and Armorer: Each can sell you different specific crafting items. Each one can also repair all of your armor for free 1/day. Allow them to do the same for anyone in your group 1/day, but count each as 1/day no matter who owns them (ex you can repair at any purchased Blacksmith follower once; until your 1/day has cooled down, you won't be able to repair at another one owned by someone else.) Having both a Blacksmith and Armorer lets you repair a total of 2/day.
    • Cook and Brewer: Can purchase basic crafting ingredients from you. Finds you a random recipe 1/day but you have to talk to them to claim it.
    • Butler/Servant: You can give him a stack of anything (stackable) to hold. Will give out 1 item of the stack to each guest that comes to your home and talks to him. This would be great for guild events... "And the first 10 people who visit can talk to the servant to get a free Kuta!"
    • Bards and Musicians: Singers or players of flutes, lutes, harps, or drums. Talk to them to change what song they are performing. Bonus points if you can talk to them to also change their instruments. More bonus points if they automatically sync up and play together if you have more than 1 nearby. Not only would they liven up your home, but who wouldn't want a personal Minstrel following them around singing of their great deeds, like the Brave Sir Robin?! Hate the idea of everyone running around with noisy followers? Make sure they are added with a new server setting which makes all followers mute and invis to anyone using the setting.

    __________________________Backstories:_________________________

Ras Kalik the Vestige, a renown Redguard warrior; He has been blessed to save Tamriel from Molag Bal’s destructive Planemeld while reuniting the Five Companions. His further accomplishments after defeating Molag Bal, has been to stop the destruction of Morrowind, the Clockwork City, return order to the isle of Summerset and create a new king in Wrothgar and a queen in Elsywer. These events have made him a living legend and continue to lead him into new adventures throughout Tamriel, as well as into the hearts of many ladies including the Elf Queen, Aryenn. Over many years of adventurous travels, Ras Kalik had become a loner, until he re-visited his homeland of Alik'r.

Alik'r and it's cities were overrun by the undead Ra-Netu and therefore he made an allegiance with Alik'r's own Ash'abah tribe. These Ash'abah with his help, cleansed the city of Sentinel in Alik'r desert and it's surrounding areas of the undead brought to life by the Withered Hand. After rescuing Sentinel from the undead zombies, King Fahara’jad’s personal bodyguard the Goliath of Hammerfell, who was given this name by Imperials in the region; was asked to assist the tribe after learning of the defeat of the Withered Hand to the Ash'abah. Kalik promised Goliath he would task him with fighting living enemies on the battlefield if he so desired. Goliath being a Yokudan warrior wields a massive sword in respect to the Ansei, a gift given by the Imperial, Cinan Tharn. Not many soldiers are able to wield double two handed weapons, but Goliath loves to get up and personal in a fight, so he also carries a giant maul, both weapons laced with magical flames.

Jux Blackheart is a master thief that masquerades as a Bard at the Sisters of the Sands inn, with his younger sidekick Lucky Hunch for pilfering and gambling during this time. Jux was known to infiltrate any towns bank vault he came across and even delved into Ayelid ruins without detection. Kalik can vividly recall the night he met the famed thief. Jux found himself rummaging thru a slightly inebriated Kalik’s pocket for too long, on a full-mooned night and because of his greed and the glimmer of his golden armor in the moonlight. He lost his left pinky fingertip as a lesson! But in return, he gained a new friend, as it was his first time since a child being caught red-handed...

Upon arrival back in the Alik'r after many moons of adventuring, Ras Kalik ventures to Bergama. Visiting The Winking Jackal, he runs into Jux Blackheart, who introduces him to the coin game Crowns vs Forebearers (Heads vs Tails) and Golden Dwemer (RBG).... Jux constantly takes gold from the unfortunate thru theft or gambling, his biggest gambling victim is actually his partner in crime known as Lucky Hunch the Gambler. Lucky doesn't mind losing any gold coins to Jux... as Jux saved him from Altmer slavers in Summerset, by stealing a key and sending him on a boat to the mainland years prior. Lucky spent years in slavery with Khajiits in Summerset and picked up the art of subterfuge, using illusion magic disguises and stealing there.

Kaotik Von’Daemon an outcast, and a half-caste between a Breton mother and a Redguard father. Kaotik become a pariah due to his conjuration of Daedra pets. He was taught healing magic during his childhood years by his Breton mother. His father due to Redguard customs exiled him from the desert, sending him by wagon caravan to be a soldier in the war in Cyrodiil. He happened to meet Kalik while traveling from Alik'r, during this long caravan ride the caravan he was in was ambushed in Bangkorai by a group of bandits. Kalik by chance was also traveling thru this area on his Auridon Warhorse (which was bestowed to him by his friend, Darien Gautier). During this ambush, Kalik was able to rescue five hostages from the bandits. Kaotik was the first rescued, and Ras Kalik also recruited him to be in the Ash'abah tribe. These core Ash'abah tribesmen may never be seen together in travel as they partake in their own adventures but they always know what each other is doing; as they frequent a hideout in northern Bankorai. Their hideout an old Orc castle ruin, is kept watch by Nuzhimeh and she passes messages written between them, and frequently they also enjoy her company and her bed.

The other men rescued were a Dunmer banker, an Imperial mercenary and two other soldiers, an Imperial and a Breton Knight, stating proudly he was an Akavir descendent. One of the Imperials, Cinan, claimed to be related to Abnur Tharn the Battlemage of the Imperial Elder Council (One of Ras Kalik's mentors in the Five Companions). Cinan Tharn was really Abnur's drunkard treasure hunting illegitimate son. He was caught smuggling artifacts out of the Ayleid ruins in Cyrodiil and the elder of the two Imperials was Tyrus Septim a retired Imperial navy battle-mage (now a Lycan mercenary living in the city of Rimmen) and guard to the Tharn family. As much as Abnur Tharn hated his half-sister Euraxia, he dislikes his bas†ard son Cinan more. Tyrus now a ruffian and privateer had been paid by Abnur Tharn to watch over Cinan as much as possible. Cinan Tharn a drunkard, loves to drink at least a quarter barrel of Nord mead before he raids various delves and dungeons for relics to sell on the black market. Cinan also plans to one day, run an illegal gambling ring... which he thinks will net him more gold for his wares.

The Dunmer captive shackled to the Imperials looked familiar to Kalik from his time in Morrowind.... and he recognized him as Tythis Andromo a House Telvanni slave-owner and banker from Vvardenfell. During a rough interrogation to Tythis, Ras Kalik learnt why the bandits accosted him. The racist Dunmer was providing slaves as soldiers for the Three Banner War. The bandits were trying to negotiate a lucrative ransom for Andromo and the Imperials.... Kalik did not need any of this gold and he could never set Tythis free as he did with the two Imperial soldiers. His past involvement with slavery and war crimes, made Kalik's blood boil. He chose not to execute Tythis, as he figured the worse punishment for this former rich and opulent slave owner, is to now be an imprisoned servant for Ras Kalik and the tribe.

Herzog Zwei the Genesis a reknown Imperial/Akavirri battle-mage. His roots going back to Akavir through his mother’s bloodline. (His mother is descended from the Akaviri, through Versidue-Shae, and his Imperial father met her in Hakoshae, while traveling) Herzog earned the nickname "the Genesis" from his father as a child, as he was his mother's first born child, and last, as she tragically died in child-birth.

Herzog was seeking to purchase an artifact from Cinan Tharn, before their capture and was meeting Tyrus while in Rimmen, who introduced him to Cinan. This artifact being the Ayelid artifact; the sword Sinweaver. After their rescue and the exchange of gold to Cinan for the sword he decided to slip away before Ras Kalik could question who he was, and why the Akavir descendant really wanted that sword. Herzog was headed to Nagastani — An Ayleid ruin in eastern Cyrodiil. He had read in scrolls that the Sword would give him magical powers to meet his mothers spirit, if he performed an Ayleid ritual at an old shrine hidden there. Equipped with the artifact sword, he was off to start his own adventure but Ras Kalik, did indeed notice the sword however and instead sent a letter to Jux Blackheart (whom also was interested in Ayleid treasures), to attempt to find Herzog and acquire the sword. (*Azani Blackheart in Elder Scroll's Oblivion is Jux's descendant some 747 years later)

And so the Redguard, Imperial and Akaviri men parted ways ... While Ras Kalik went off to Elsweyr to encounter the latest threat to Tamriel, with Abnur Tharn and Sai Sahan - - DRAGONS!! Little did Ras Kalik know a few people were awaiting him in Senchal besides Sai. A necromancer survived his attack on the Withered Hand, while in Alik'r. The necromancer known as Auriek Siet'ka is also following him to the land of the Khajiits and Cacique the Sage of Ius a Shaman mystic who has become attuned spiritually with Tu'whacca (a Redguard God) and Ius (the Animal God), after being burned severely by the escaped dragons in Elsywer, is awaiting his arrival also. Aurik is a soldier of the Daggerfall Covenant that was introduced to necromancy while in the military, even though this magicka art is not spoken of openly by most of the Military leaders. He came to Alik'r and worked with the Withered Hand before Ras Kalik intervened on their plans. After the defeat of the Withered Hand, he aligned with the Worm Cult, and is constantly adapting and perfecting his necromantic arts.

After his journey to Rimmen, Kalik heads south to Senchal, in the southern regions of Elyswer. This new adventure will also put him on a path to meet a strange Redguard man. The stranger which was infected with an untreated Peyrite disease and also was the exiled from the Order of the New Moon cult, due to his sickness. He originally joined the cult to worship Laatvulon, the green dragon, mistakenly thinking it was the Daedric prince Peyrite. This confused and suffering cultist is known as Tsar al-Bomba and he is on a path to spread the disease. He was originally infected in Orccrest while recruiting members there. Can Ras Kalik and the shaman Cacique cure this poor soul, only time will tell. Little does Tsar al-Bomba know, that his infection is tied to Vampirism, and eventually the desire for blood will take over his mind. Senchal also offers Kalik his latest love interest... Aeliah. Whom he fondly led thru battles with the Dragonguard.

After the trek thru the heat, tropical and desert climate of Northern and Southern Elyswer, Ras Kalik heads north to the cold mountain range of Skyrim. His companion friend Lyris beckons for him with a letter sent by crow...

Movárth Piquine - a former vampire hunter (now infected), within the Fighter's Guild (and a secretive necromancer) was in Skyrim working with the Morthaal Guard. On a patrol mission he was caught in Frewien's ice curse outside of Morthaal with the frozen undead. Movárth's vampiric infection kept him from becoming an undead minion to the curse. He was able to use necromantic ice-magic to encase himself safely until he was freed with Freiwen, when the Vestige Ras Kalik broke the curse.

Uri Ice-Heart - brother of Urfon Ice-Heart. The twin sons of Atli and Oljourn Ice-Heart. The Ice-Heart family are originally from Markarth but now reside on the Jerall Mountain range near Cyrodiil, with their younger sister Araki. The twins had joined the Winterborn Reachmen while living in Markarth. Urfon pushed west to Orsinium with the Winterborn Clan, leaving his family behind. Uri stayed behind with his parents and sister to live in the family cabin for safety, avoiding the Vampire plague infiltrating the Reach. After news reaches him and he hears of Urfon's death... Uri leaves and heads home and is seeking vengeance. Meanwhile, his sister has also moved on to Windhelm to join the Fighter's guild. He will visit his sister, once before going to seek vengeance and she will craft him armor mixed with ice, called Stalhrim armor. Uri fearing death, after his brother's passing, falls victim to the convincing talk of Movárth at a Nordic tavern, and will also becomes a vampire.

Oh yes we need the ability to turn day/night time for houses, I mean I have been in so many enchanted forests type homes and we had to actually port in/out or wait in hope of the day change...

If you visit Shimmerene and go to the Stable there is a trough with water. It does exist in game. But, it appears to be unavailable to players. :/

Yes I know, also seen in plenty of other locations that is the reason why I was so surprised why we can only make it as waterless item.

Also updated some ideas with pictures and more stuff (point 8. and 10.)

The large estates, especially the more recent ones are unpractical, because after you are finished with the decorations, there is little else to do, except for visiting the crafting stations or the banker, which usually, people place close to the entrance for convenience.

So my suggestion for the devs is to implement some sort of games specific to each large estate in which several players can take part. Like small scale pvp - for fun - capture the flag, or treasure hunting games with clues and a treasure set by the owner. You can also have pve scenarios, like the Dawnlight Palace being invaded by pirates, or you have a daedric portal opening in your home which you need to close by coordinating you friends to destroy some anchors in a window of time.

The large estates are almost as big a as a delve, so a lot of things can be imagined in that space.

Added idea: 15 We should be able to decon our unused furnitures. Honestly I have placed a lot items in 1 of the homes I have just so I can store them, would be nice to get back some of the mats from those we have no use anymore.

Added another idea 16. Items like cupboards for example should auto-detect flat surface of walls and be able to be glued to them with 1 click, as of now we need to work quite hard so that it is perfectly aligned to surface - not to deep inside wall and not to much from it so that there is no visible slit (surface drag on does not work well).
